[* Walking through Snowdin never felt like it got old, even if Faye herself did. The atmosphere was always so refreshing, with all the open space. It was great for taking your mind off things while getting some light exercise done.]

some of my professors were like that especially my human anatomy and physiology professor (in fact being a professor is her second career so she actually went back for her degrees later on in life) and they just seem like the coolest people because they’re so well-rounded and stuff

idk at a PBK meeting one of the things they told us is that learning is a life-long pursuit and i think that’s totally up his alley

I was considering taking my senior yearbook off the shelf to look at the message my teacher left me when Dr. Fisher showed up. He knows what he has in common with him and why. He sits at the side of my bed and asks me about it. I tell him I’m too lazy to get up, which he laughs off.

What stands out the most to this day from my teacher’s message is how he told me he hopes that his sons would have the same work ethic as me. 

He smirks slightly and smooths my hair down with his hand. He assures me that things will be fine.

I’m glad neither the one of the present or the one of the future know their end, but it somehow makes me scared of the possibility of it happening in reality to someone else.

It’s stupid.

Emery showed up last night, sitting at the foot of my bed. There was a band aid on his cheek, and he was trying not to touch it. He’s just a six-year-old, swinging his legs and staring at his feet. But he was up way too late.

He glanced at me because he noticed my staring, but looked away. Considering what I was watching, I think I know why he was here and what happened to his cheek.

He didn’t look scared. He just wished he was braver.

Though on a side note I realized that when Cheren does die, that means all his crypted notes on his Genesect (which I’m assuming he still keeps up even though I don’t write them up), it will definitely go to Nejiki. Even though he wasn’t part of Project TRACE, and he’d prefer to keep Accel in Unova, he’s the only person he would trust to have the skills to take care of the pokemon.

It’s probably in his will anyway, from the very first draft, that Hikari would take “the accelerator” to him. She would know what “it” is.

Eventually, the hope would be that Emery would inherit the Genesect.

I was thinking about it and

I think the only time Cheren would ever pick up a cigarette would be to commemorate an important person in his life

Like, if he ever had a colleague or mentor that helped him throughout his professional career and was known for not being able to kick his cig habit….

I’d say that every death anniversary of this person, Cheren would smoke just one. cigarette. 

Just one a year in memory of this guy.

Doc keeps bouncing the little babbu and pacing around, half-singing and half-pleading for him to go to sleep, but Em is just staring wide-eyed and sucking on his pacifier. He looks happy though

Oh boy by the time Emery is born, his grandparents (on Cheren’s side) will be in their 80s….

I think after Cheren gets his doctorate, Mr. Fisher decides to make his last career change. The last thing he builds is a flower shop next to the house, for Mrs. Fisher. (They also grow berries snickers)

I want to say that’s how Emery got interested in plants.

He sort of gets it. Because of how high-profile he is, being a Unovan gym leader and all, they have heard about his accomplishments. For the most part, they like him, but they refuse to recognize he is gay. In fact, they have deluded themselves into thinking that Hikari is his girlfriend, and later, his wife. He learns from his uncle, Zhong, that there’s no way to change them. Although his grandparents haven’t disowned Zhong, he has lost most of his inheritance and they don’t recognize Shen as anything—not even a friend.

His uncles and aunties are different, though. Zhong is the most accepting, while Huang and his wife are struggling not to be like their parents, since one of their sons is gay. Xiao Ren’s aunt, Mei Li, tries to stay clear of the subject, but her daughters are fans of his partner.

His cousins are pretty cool with him. Most are impressed by their Unovan cousin, others are a little miffed it took him so long to connect with them.

Cheren will take Emery on yearly trips to China when he’s old enough to travel, up until he’s 10-12.

I want to say that there are three main things Emery is good at: 1) Languages, 2) Math, and 3) Robotics.

He started learning Chinese and English at the same time, and seemed to retain them well. However, after his first trip to China with Cheren, he seemed to temporarily forget all the English he knew. It scared him a lot when he couldn’t answer or understand what his family or friends were saying. It took him about a week for everything to come back.

Eventually, he starts learning Japanese, too - since he sometimes goes with Cheren to Kanto. He uses Chinese second most frequent to English, so when he’s surprised or caught off-guard, there’s a 50/50 chance he’ll speak in Chinese (I think he'd only learn Mandarin and Cantonese). French ends up being another language he picks up, I think when Siebold starts entering the picture. He becomes fluent in these languages, and possibly picks up another Asian language to round them off. I think in college he’d want to take a linguistics minor or second major to Biology. Other languages he ends up learning (but not being fluent in them) would include Italian, German, and Spanish.

He decided from then on to keep track of his languages. Aside from speaking to Cheren in Chinese majority of the time (except in front of the rest of the family/other people), he trains his pokemon in specific languages (in addition to English): at least two in Chinese, two in Japanese, two in French. Eventually, his team evolves so that there is one for Chinese, another for Japanese, another in French, another in Italian, another in German, and another in Spanish. It helps him train himself to retain the languages.

As for math, it’s pretty much like Rene—he does all his work neatly in pen with minimal mistakes (he’s just that confident). He can do majority of his math work in his head, but he shows all his work. He’s good with the math portion of Physics, but he struggles a little with figuring out what to use. So, he practices a lot (just like with anything else that doesn’t come easily).

26. Our muses cuddling during a snow storm

It wasn’t often that a snow storm hit Vale this hard. It was a white out, the streets were covered in snow overnight, and the snow storm raged onward into the day, darkening the skies. This apparently didn’t deter one Weiss Schnee, though, who had insisted on coming to visit her new bodyguard and ended up trapped in her home as the storm picked back up with a vengeance. Making sure the heat was on - more for Weiss’s sake than her own - she had taken the liberty of preparing hot cocoa.

Eventually growing bored of the business talk, Yang had started sidling closer towards Weiss on the couch until she had managed to maneuver the heiress into her lap. A blanket, draped across the back of the couch, had been wound around them before Weiss could protest too much, and now here they sat, Yang with her arms wound tightly around the other woman, a big, dumb smile on her face.

Straight to jail.

That's where Blake had gone after she had recovered. After that, yang wasn't entirely sure what happened, but she knew that Weiss was keeping a close eye on her. Yang went back to focusing fully on her Huntressing career, breaking character by taking more and more Hunts away from Vale that left her tired enough to do nothing but pass out when she got home. It left her physically drained, but it was better than having to focus on everything that had happened.

At least, until it was shoved back into her face by Weiss.

Standing outside the jail next to a car - she had actually invested in one now - she stared at the building, expression unreadable. Weiss was a bitch. She wanted Yang of all people to be the one to transport Blake to her new apartment, and it wasn't as if she could just say no. Weiss was her old teammate, Blake was her old partner and- and was more than that, once. Since it was offered to her, she wouldn't leave it to anyone else. 

Yang scratched the back of her neck, looking chastised. “Aw, c’mon Rubes, you know I can take way more than this! It’s nothing! Plus, he was asking for it.” Even as she spoke, she didn’t sound nearly as confident as usual. Ruby hadn’t ever really gotten this mad at her before because of her brawling.

Still, she couldn’t really blame her, she did look like shit. Ripped clothes, a busted lip, two black eyes that she had to squint out of, more than a few bumps and scratches. It was nothing life-threatening, but she was definitely in pain, her aura depleted from the actual fight itself. It left little to actually heal, which meant natural healing would be the way she’d have to go, at least until her body replenished itself.
