BTS SCENARIOS- You meet as soulmates. (Soulmate au)
genre: angst, fluff.
warnings: includes description of panic attacks.
word count: 13,567 words.
Kim Namjoon:
‘’Tik…tok…tik…tok…tik…tok’’ You whispered sleepily staring at your foot. Out of all the places where your soulmate timer could have been placed it had to be on the bottom of your foot. Perhaps you should consider yourself lucky, your friend will forever live with numbers ticking away on her left butt cheek. You laughed as you remembered your friend telling you how she must check her backside every morning in the mirror to see if the time moving on her ass lessened over the night.
Everyone was born with a timer on their body. Black numbers constantly moving on their skin, counting down the hours, minutes and seconds till the very last second they meet their soulmate. Your friend had 18005 hours left, a little over two years. But time can change. The time till you meet your soulmate can grow all of a sudden or lessen, but that rarely happens. You glanced at your foot. 43438 hours. That’s more than four years. You traced the numbers on your foot. ‘’Whoever you are, take your time.’’ You said to the time shifting on your foot. It’s not that you didn’t want to meet your soulmate, sure you did; out of curiosity if nothing else. It’s the stupidity and unfairness of the whole existence of a timed soulmate that pisses you off. You can’t just force love onto someone, what if you fall in love with someone else but the time on your body is still not at zero. It’s heart-breaking, and you’ve seen it happen more times than desired.

Namjoon
44- “You can’t save everyone.” 49- “Three cups of coffee wasn’t enough?” 58- “Is that blood?” Your textbooks were scattered across the coffee table, the half empty coffee mug had left a ring mark on one of the pages. Letting out a yawn, you picked up your pink highlighter, highlighting a definition. “Three cups of coffee wasn’t enough?” Namjoon spoke, arriving at the doorway of the kitchen, leaning against the wall, his arms folded across his chest. Turning to face him, you gave a guilty look, unable to bring a smile to your face. “I’m just trying to figure something out.” You muttered, your voice shaking. Furrowing his eyebrows, Namjoon stepped forward, pulling out the chair next to you before sitting down, instantly trying to figure out what had made you stay awake after a ten hour shift. You were still in your work clothes, your doctors coat draped over the back of your chair, your hair pulled into a messy ponytail, random strands of hair slowly falling out. Looking down at the textbook you were currently looking at, Namjoon frowned as he spotted a drop of red liquid next to the freshly highlighted sentence. “Is that blood?” You simply gave a hum, scanning the words on the page. “Paper cut.” “Why didn’t you get a plaster?” “No time, have to study.” With that, Namjoon took your hand, forcing you to look at him. “What happened?” With those two words, Namjoon watched as your bottom lip quivered, tears soon rolling down your cheeks. “I couldn’t save her. I tried, I really did. I went through every book, tried every test, but I couldn’t help her. I couldn’t do my job.” Namjoon’s heart broke as you sobbed, finding comfort in his chest. He would wait to see if you wanted to explain more. Just now, all he could offer was quiet comfort and words even he knew were cliche. “You can’t save everyone.” Sniffling, you looked up at him, your eyes still wet with tears. “I know. I just feel like it’s my fault, like she trusted me and I betrayed her.” “Hey, you didn’t betray her. You did everything you could, everything you were supposed to do. You’re only human, some things are out of your control. That doesn’t mean you should forget her, or grow cold. You’re allowed to have these feelings, to be upset.” Nodding, you wiped your tears, sniffling as you gave a shaky smile. Namjoon spoke his next words softly and slowly. “Now, you can’t help anyone exhausted. Why don’t you come to bed, try to sleep?” Mumbling an okay, you took his hand following him to the bedroom. “Can I tell you about her?” You whispered into his chest, his arms wrapped securely around you. “Of course.” Namjoon spoke, placing a kiss on your head as he waited for you to speak, knowing it would make you feel better.
Jimin
30- “I don’t want to hurt you.” 33- “I want the truth.” You knew what he was doing. The long nights where he was supposed to be at the studio, instead appearing smelling of alcohol, a faint red lipstick on his collar. This night was not any different. But in a way it was, it was much worse. You sat on the sofa in your living room, still wearing the black dress you had bought only a couple days prior. It’s way past midnight, your anniversary already over. Yet, he didn’t call, no lame excuse, no tear filled apology as he tried to look vulnerable and innocent. You had already cried today, now you just sat patiently, waiting until he decided it was time to go home. Soon enough, you heard the familiar sound of the keys in the lock. The front door swung open to reveal Jimin, his hair messy, the top three buttons on his shirt undone. He froze once he spotted you on the sofa, the dress you wore instantly making him remember. “Shit.” He muttered, running a hand through his hair as he carefully took a step forward. “I want the truth.” You simply spoke, trying to not let it waver too much. You did not want him to know how much this was affecting you. “I want the truth Jimin. Not some bullshit you’ve made up on the spot. I want the truth.” Gulping, you could already see Jimin’s bottom lip quiver, tears building up in his eyes. “I don’t want to hurt you.” He mumbled, his voice high pitched. Even that sentence alone told you everything you needed to know. “You already have.” Your eyes drifted to his collar, the red mark standing out against the white, the mark on his neck just above the clothing. “And I hope you enjoyed our anniversary more than I did, because I’m done Jimin. I can’t break myself just to keep you happy.” Standing up, you grabbed your phone and keys before walking up to him, your hand hovering, just about to touch his arm in a comforting manner. “I don’t know why. I don’t know why you did what you did, but I’m sorry I made you feel like you had to go to someone else.” You watched as a tear rolled down Jimin’s cheek, a small whine in protest leaving his lips. He didn’t try to stop you from walking out the door. A small part of you wished he had.

Yoongi
2- “They may not understand you, but I do.”
22- “Scoot over. I wanna sit next to you.”
Yoongi gave a small smile as he came across the blanket covered lump just highlighted by the bedside lamp.
“Scoot over. I wanna sit next to you.” A small mumble came from the lump before it shifted over, creating space for Yoongi. He sat with his back against the headboard. A smile gracing his lips as you placed your head on his lap, a small sniffle leaving you.
“You not coming out from under the blanket?” Shaking your head, you mumbled a ‘I’m comfy.’ “Want to tell me what’s wrong?” His voice was soft, full of concern as he rested a hand on your shoulder. You let out a sigh, raising your head slightly to look at him for the first time.
“Friends don’t understand. Don’t understand that it’s difficult sometimes. I want to hang out, but sometimes that’s not enough. Sometimes I just can’t...” Yoongi listened intently as you explained, your voice breaking occasionally.
“They may not understand you, but I do.” His words, though simple were comforting. You knew that Yoongi was always there for you, always understanding. The rapper though sometimes in another country was always just a phone call away. With a last sigh, you peeled the covers off you, revealing a space beside you. With a smile Yoongi shuffled next to you, placing himself under the covers, his arm quickly over your waist. With a soft kiss to your forehead, he closed his eyes, allowing you to take a quick nap, your worries slowly fading.
Jin
7- “I love you, no matter what.” 55- “I’m not jealous!” 98- “Come inside. I don’t want you to get sick.” Jin had been ignoring you, leaving you to question the reason. Every text and call had been left unanswered, filling your heart with more despair as time went on. With the last text you sent left on read, you found yourself at his doorstep. It had started to pour halfway through your journey. With only a leather jacket to protect you from the cold rain, you clutched the material closer to you, already feeling the start of a cold. Pounding at his door, you shivered slightly, hoping he would at least open the door to you. The front door swung open, revealing a panicked Jin, a towel in his hand. “Come inside. I don’t want you to get sick.” Ushering you inside, he quickly wrapped the fluffy towel around you, a second one appearing so he could dry your hair. “What are you doing here?” “You left me no choice. You’ve been ignoring me.” Jin lowered his head, heat rushing to his cheeks as he realised he would have to explain why. At his reaction your heart raced as you could only question his motives. Deeming your hair dry enough, Jin dropped his hands, the towel landing on your shoulders. “I love you, no matter what.” Looking up at him, you tried to give an encouraging smile. “You know that right?” Giving a hum, Jin kept his head lowered. Sighing, he decided to explain as best as he could. “You had that group project with whatever his name is. And you were busy, distracted on our dates and he wouldn’t stop texting you and…” As you started to grin, Jin furrowed his eyebrows. “You’re jealous!” A giggle escaped your lips as the tip of Jin’s ears turned red as he opened his mouth only to stammer out a couple syllables. “I’m not jealous!” “You are!” Laughter bubbled up as you felt relief. Jin huffed, avoiding your eye. Giving a small smile, you reached up, placing a kiss on Jin’s cheek. “I think it’s sweet you were jealous.” You whispered, walking further into the apartment, ignoring Jin’s protests.
