And I remember thinking of my father [a doctor] a bit. Because afterward he even pointed that out: that there was the awe of cutting somebody open and seeing something. Which made it more horrible. As opposed to me being horrified by it, I was like: Look, there it is! There was an excitement to it which just made it all the more disquieting.
