for the 7 people on planet earth that are still interested in rex in risk of rain returns (theyre probably ripping their shirts off and spinning it over their heads rn) I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON THINGS!!!!!!!! that being said i got really unhappy with the direction the big logbook sprite went, so i decided id scrap the background stuff, stop working on this and take a break by drawing something else, then circle back to this when my heads a little clearer

now that i dont really have anything big on my plate i think my first priority will be learning how to get the character skills and everything working in-game first, and leave this gigantic ass sprite for last. the api for modding ror returns actually got a pretty big overhaul just lately so ill have to redo all my progress so far.. but apparently it should be easier to do the things i was trying to sledgehammer through before like damage based lifesteal, so thatll be interesting to go through

aside from that i promise im still alive; ive been pushing myself to work on rex's logbook portrait and between being unmotivated in general and also trying to stay consistent with a style in not familiar with, progress hasnt been fast

i have some more descryption sprites i could upload later but thats about it

also i got bored of being productive so heres 3 palettes i drafted up, left 2 are based on his mastery and meridian skins and rightmost is judgment but it kinda looks ass. these are probably going to change later though to fit the red/blue/yellow/green scheme better and i also need to give him a third one

im too lazy to boot up the game to test it rn but theoretically he has sound effects for m1 and shift (which are his only working moves rn)

rogue runs begin by having you sacrifice three of the five scrybes (refer to the last post), and the two remaining scrybes are the ones you've chosen to use their cards, nodes, bosses, in your run each scrybe has their own 8 starter decks which are all progressively unlocked a la kaycee mod - you can also see there's a second screen of decks to choose from

the scrybe of artistry galliard and his underlings: the scout, cartographer, and playwright he was once a pupil of magnificus but a difference of opinions caused the two to have a falling out, which is elaborated on in the story mode

some more artistry cards and full-art spells (full-arts will only display their sigils/stats when moused over so just imagine my cursor is over all 4 of them at once)
