hello, my name is mahi! as i've started using this blog more, i feel as though it'd best to give the gist of who i am and what i stand for! you might know me from my many sideblogs; please note that this blog won't have the same content or whatever as my sideblogs, and i like to keep them seperate :)
for some more general stuff, i'm a south indian from kerala! normally i'll just call myself malayali or dravidian, but by birth i am from the republic of india.
i'd say i'm agender. i don't really see the point in gender or sexuality labels. i present more feminine though, mostly for the sake of being treated better by those around me by conforming to my birth gender. i don't really care what pronouns and what gender labels you use for me! i will say that i call myself transgender, purely because i don't identify as my birth gender.
i love the bands sade and hole! sade adu is the woman i aspire to be most, and courtney love screeching the lyrics to asking for it is my anthem.
on the topic of arts, i also love bollywood, particularly bollywood movies of the 50s-60s. my favourite actors are dilip kumar and shashi kapoor; i do not play about either, especially shashi!
for fandom stuff, i'm a fan of trigun, jojo's bizarre adventure, hunter x hunter, honkai star rail and yu-gi-oh. as marx once said; "capitalism is bad except when you're collecting yu-gi-oh cards."
for some more serious stuff; i grew up hindu but i'm actively deconstructing it. i'm anti-caste and ambedkarist just to be clear. if you want a summation of my views, please read dr ambedkar's the annihilation of caste! i went to catholic school and currently identify with christianity, but i haven't converted to catholicism or any denomination. i'm still discovering my faith, though i'd say i prefer high church liturgical services, i read the bible from a non-literalist lens and am very attracted to liberation theology and salvation through faith and good works. i love our lady of lourdes, st bartholomew, st cecilia and st john the beloved.
i like to read about historical jesus and biblical studies! please send me reading recs! i'm a marxist-leninist anti-imperialist! i'm from a family of trade unionists, although my mother's family are democratic socialists and my father's family are conservatives. a lot of my marxism is inspired from indian marxist-leninism, and famous malayali communists like namboodiripad or p.krishna pillai. i don't support the CPI(M) or CPI in their current forms though just to be clear. my favourite marxist authors are namboodiripad, lenin, marx, engels, stalin, mao, ho chi minh, wolff, freire and parenti.
i might vent now and then on here about my life...just note that materially i am fine and safe as of now and not in any immediate danger :) i just need a space to let out my frustrations. if you can't tell, i live in a really shitty small town and i'd do absolutely anything to leave haha
