my hearthome will always be the coniferous forest, but now i believe my dragon species migrates based on the season; near the coast on winter and forest-based from spring to autumn. this is based on the fact that although i love the cold, i dont tolerate extreme temperatures at all (neither hot nor cold), and i dont feel particularly connected to snow and ice, which is what a cold forest would be covered in on winter. thus, it would make sense that my species migrates when it gets too cold for an avian reptile to thrive.

why the coast? ive lived by the sea all my life, so it may have influenced my alterhumanity somewhat... but i believe my swimming adventures a few months ago had a part in all of it. i do feel very at home when im in the water, moving my claws and body to swim is very affirming in a way i couldnt have predicted. especially things like diving, jumping into the sea from high places, scavenging underwater, things that i have done since i was a hatchling just feel so right now.

my diet has changed too. when just a year ago i yearned to dive headfirst into a still-warm deer carcass, i now crave fish more than anything. cooked, raw, processed or fresh, i dont care. the kinds of fish my brain wants are useful for collecting species data too; i mostly crave fatty fish, like salmon and tuna, something i first chalked to a vitamin d deficiency (northern gang rise UP); but now its summer and im getting regular sunlight on my skin, and i still crave salmon like every day, so clearly something fishy (get it? get it? ok ill walk myself out) is going on. also the fact that i had fish tartare for the first time last year and that shit was like a religious experience

as i said, i dont think my appearance has changed mostly or at all, but knowing im slightly aquatic explains a lot about my coloring. im very blue, but i have that gold stripe i first added as an accent which didnt make a whole lot of sense for an animal that needs to camouflage in a forest. i thought at first that it was a sexual selection thing or maybe even sexual dimorphism, but that theory never convinced me hence why i never mentioned it in the blog. but it all makes sense now! im like a fish!! :D

By that logic, you think otherkin identities are boiled down to wearing gear and quadrobics. You should also hate furries/kemonomimis. They're not roleplaying being otherkin, they're roleplaying being theriform animals and fictional characters. The only time they mention us is to say they're not us, simply having fun instead of a serious identity.

They aren't making us look like roleplay because we're two different communities. If we get mixed up, there's room for correction.

In this case, it's only mocking if they intend it to be that way. Otherwise, they're just having fun and aren't harmful to us at all.

"You're either a human, nonhuman, or not." What does that even mean?? You can be both and neither. Are you policing fellow alterhumans' identities?

People don't take us seriously either way. Before otherpaws, therians were mockingly called furries. But you aren't mad at furries, are you? You're hating the wrong people. Hate the ones that aren't taking us seriously, not the ones having fun in their own separate community.
