Highkey something I wish we got to see more of in this franchise is the spirits interacting with people they knew in life. Like obviously “it’s me” is iconic and clearly has significance but I wish there was more meaningful character interactions actually shown on screen rather than most interactions being left offscreen and more fanon than anything else.

SL is prob my favourite game (deeply unpopular opinion ik) and I think a big reason for that is the way Baby manipulates you through the course of the game (plus Ennard using Elizabeth’s voice in attempt to get Michael to let them in is just so cool).

I do agree that Freddy Carter would be a perfect Dave Miller (if only he was slightly older). His Michael is off-putting and is the type of person you’d be uncomfortable while left alone with.

However, I think it’s important to recognise that movie Afton is different to novel Afton and game Afton is different to both, as they’ve all gone through different versions of the same essential story. Dave Miller is absolutely my favourite version of him, but he’s a version of Afton who seems to have spent years alone and has consequently forgotten how to pretend (or it’s just no longer needed). Movie Afton on the other hand still has a relatively normal life and I feel like he’s kept a more (outwardly) functioning persona to maintain his people-facing job as Steve Raglan as well as his twisted relationship with his family.

I feel like movie Michael’s a nod to that specific characterisation of Afton as the creepy security guard who seems a bit too attached to Freddy’s. It’s one that’s not present in these movies, but one that a lot of people are very fond of.

Initially, there was support for the existence of Unwithered animatronics- that is, the band was originally fixed versions of the Withered animatronics. These broke down over time (and were used for parts for the Toys) and so they became withered before eventually being remodelled.
