rebekah’s ghost in taylor’s rhode island house listening to the last great american dynasty
folklore is subjective. based on your own experiences and feelings everyone will interpret the songs and lyrics differently. for others one song in particular might hit harder than the others purely because of personal experiences. thats exactly what folklore is, stories and legends that everyone interprets differently.
taylor’s control of language always sends me into oblivion when i hear some of her songs. there’s this super sexy thing in linguistics called topicalization where you put the a phrase at the beginning of the sentence instead of its canonical position further right in the sentence to emphasise the an action or feeling over the thing. it appears in cruel summer when she says “it’s new, the shape of your body / it’s blue, the feeling i got” and again in invisible string when she says “bold was the waitress on our three year trip / cold was the steel of my axe to grind / gold was the colour of the leaves / hell was the journey but it brought me heaven” however she usually uses this for emotions instead of actions. she doesnt want to emphasise what happened, but how it feels. she creates such sensory in her songs but not of a sound or a sight but an emotion and thats neat

taylor when her and joe are engaging in pillow talk: that's so sexy babe what do you want your pseudonym to be
seats for the folklore tour are all tree stumps. opening acts are the mice from cinderella and a lone woodland squirrel. no merch just make your own flower crown stands with leaves that taylor nation found on the side of the road.
if you are not swiftie positive please refrain from contacting me today. thank you for your understanding
WILLIAM BOWERY (SONGWRITER) DOESN’T EXIST 👀 DO YOU THINK THIS MEANS FROSTY CREW PHOTOGRAPHY 2.0?? UMM AS IN JOE CO-WRITING WITH TAYLOR?
Would he intervene with her music though....idk

Most of the things I had planned this summer didn’t end up happening, but there is something I hadn’t planned on that DID happen. And that thing is my 8th studio album, folklore. Surprise 🤗Tonight at midnight I’ll be releasing my entire brand new album of songs I’ve poured all of my whims, dreams, fears, and musings into. I wrote and recorded this music in isolation but got to collaborate with some musical heroes of mine; Aaron Dessner (who has co-written or produced 11 of the 16 songs), Bon Iver (who co-wrote and was kind enough to sing on one with me), William Bowery (who co-wrote two with me) and Jack Antonoff (who is basically musical family at this point). Engineered by Laura Sisk and Jon Low, mixed by Serban Ghenea & Jon Low. The album photos were shot by the amazing Beth Garrabrant. Before this year I probably would’ve overthought when to release this music at the ‘perfect’ time, but the times we’re living in keep reminding me that nothing is guaranteed. My gut is telling me that if you make something you love, you should just put it out into the world. That’s the side of uncertainty I can get on board with. Love you guys so much ♥️
the entire internet is talking about either taylor or one direction. suddenly it’s 2012 and life is simple.
