I have to imagine though that Eddie, being our intrepid little hero, would eventually go out and look for Richie, try and find him and figure out what the hell happened. I also imagine that he’d get far more than he bargained for when he learned what had happened.

Maybe Richie thinks that Eddie died- all of them do- until one day after his show he’s told that his ‘biggest fan’ is waiting for him backstage. Richie goes back, ready to sign an autograph, pose for a picture, and then it’s Eddie. In his clothes from Derry, sitting in Richie’s chair and waiting for him. 

All Richie dynamics are underrated
