Yes I do think being raised in a way where abusing others is normalised and taught to you because of your SIG (socially imposed gender) and where pushing boundaries and not understanding consent or reading body language around consent and having entitlement to other peoples bodies is also normalised and taught to you because of your SIG can effect whether you grow into an adult who understands boundaries and consent or not.
This is what I think about every time I see a trans femme claiming she was falsely accused, knowing how rare false accusations are, how likely is it that she was falsely accused VS she just doesn't realise what she did was abusive because she had that behaviour normalised to her as a child? π€
Abusers don't think they're abusers
Rapists don't think they're rapists
We understand that with cis men this is because they have been socialised to not understand consent and with entitlement to sex/other's bodies and so they often genuinely don't believe themselves to be engaging in abuse...this social conditioning and phenomenon just magically evaporates the second someone declares that they were raised under the wrong gender construct though??
This is why we have so many trans femmes on here engaging in outright sexual harrassment, violent threats/fantasies and rape apology without it being called out for the vile behaviour it is
If you're a trans femme who genuinely worries about if you're a predator or not then this doesn't apply to you as you're not likely to be engaging in fucked behaviour since you actually introspect on your ability to do so
If you're a trans femme who believes trans femmes couldn't have possibly picked up any negative, patriarchal learned behaviours during their childhoods and are perfect angels incapable of harm and wrong doing...you should definitely have a think on this...all the trans femmes I've seen claiming to have been falsely accused (including one who raped and assaulted me multiple times) have fallen into this category and not the latter
All the trans femmes I've met who are well adjusted, safe and decent people have engaged with these topics and don't outright deny the influence of SIG childhoods on all people cis, trans, nb and intersex
These women also tend to actually be feminists with a grounding in general feminism and trans feminist theory, their feminist theory doesn't begin and end with trans femmes and transmisogyny
Funny how a well rounded, nuanced and reality based analysis of the world will produce a person whose actually socially safe and responsible
It is everyones duty under white supremacist, cisheteronormative, gender essentialist, patriarchal capitalism to unlearn the toxic beliefs we are taught in childhood...can someone explain to me why anyone thinks it's remotely normal to believe that a particular demographic, which is raised with some of the most toxic/unsafe SIG beliefs, should be exempt from that?
I've spent decades working to unlearn the societal misogyny and rape culture rhetoric I was taught through a socially imposed "girl" upbringing...trans femmes don't need to do the same because why? They're ethereal angels who as babies and children were magically immune to the entire social culture they lived in?
Give me a fucking break and take some responsibility for the toxicity of your community ladies and if you don't want to then stop crying about it when non trans femmes don't want to share spaces or be in community with you anymore.
That's what happens when you consistently treat other groups like shit while alienating, bullying and abusing them.
Trans mascs are pushed to apologise constantly for just existing as ourselves in community and yet I can count on one hand how many trans femmes I've seen apologising for how absolutely fucking abusive and toxic your community has been for years atp.
