bf!sunarin who still loves taking those “soft launch” photos with you and posting them on his social media even if almost everyone already knows that the two of you are dating. 

bf!sunarin who loves coming over to your home—uninvited or not—to have some quality time with you. most of the time the two of you would just end up cuddling together and watching movies until both of you falls asleep. 

bf!sunarin who will often message you to ask if you want to go to a convenience store or any other fast food chain available in the most ungodly hours. sometimes he would randomly drive by your home to come to pick you up even if you haven’t replied to his text message yet. 

bf!sunarin who enjoys having midnight walks and car rides with you. he finds this as the best time to have a one-on-one conversation with you since it would just be the two of you and the silence of the night. and the most common topics that the two of you always talk about are the “remember when” conversations. he would even pull up his phone and show some receipts like photos or videos he had taken during those times. 

bf!sunarin who will definitely make a spotify playlist about you and your relationship. he also loves playing those playlists whenever the two of you go on your occasional midnight car rides or just road trips in general. 

bf!sunarin who loves seeing you wearing his hoodies and jerseys—especially his high school jersey. he also likes taking candid pictures of you wearing those before putting them in a separate folder in his gallery. 

bf!sunarin who always holds your hand in public. and if he’s not holding your hand, his hand would either be placed on your waist or at the small of your back.

bf!sunarin who may not be good at studying and cooking but will try his best to help you out. you don’t have the time to prepare some snacks for yourself while studying? he’s already getting his car keys to go to the nearest fast food chain to get you a takeout. you’re going to make dinner? you bet he is already on his way to buy the ingredients that you’ll need.

“oh, ya think i’m distractin’?” 

“if i fail my exams i’m legit suing you.” 

karasu laughs. “now, now–” 

whistles 

“well if it isn’t my parents,” someone announces, catching both you and karasu off guard.

you close your book and look up at the guy who just went to your table. “the fuck are you even saying, otoya?” 

“yo.” otoya raise a peace sign, pulling the chair across karasu right after to sit. 

“since when did you even start goin’ into the library?” karasu asks. “and is that pride and prejudice yer holdin’?”

“and are you wearing a quarter zip?” you laugh. “bet you’re playing laufey’s songs in your headphones right now.” 

“well aren’t ya performative?” karasu snickers.

“first off, i’m listening to beabadoobee.” otoya removes his headphones. “second, can the two of you stop making fun of me? that’s no way to treat your practice child.” 

“wha–” you slam your book on the table. “what are you on about, we’re not even dating?!” 

“not yet.” otoya pointed finger guns at the two of you. “trust my ninja instincts.” 

“right..” karasu crosses his arms as he leans back onto his chair. “like i’d wanna have a child like ya, dumbass.” 

“ouch.” otoya clenches his shirt. “you hurt me, father.” 

you roll your eyes, not even realizing that karasu was not really acting defensive over otoya’s statements. 

“you guys are overstimulating my brain.” you press on your temples. 

“hey, guys,” yukimiya chimes in, pulling the chair across from you to sit. “done prepping for finals?”

“yukki!” your face lights up. “didn’t know you’re vacant at this time as well. and to answer your question– no.” your smile falls to a begrudging look. “because these two were bothering me.”

“is that so?” yukimiya chuckles. 

karasu watches silently as you start getting talkative towards yukimiya, watching you ultimately forget that you should be studying right now. and as he watches you and yukimiya talk, the words you uttered the other day suddenly starts playing in his mind.

“ooooo.” otoya cuts karasu’s trance. “well someone’s jealous,” he mouths at him. 

“shut up,” karasu scoffs. “‘m not jealous ‘cause why would i?” he mouths back at otoya. 

“yeah, right.” otoya closes his book and points a finger gun towards the dark purple-haired man. “don’t worry, bro. i got you.” he winks. 

whatever. karasu rolls his eyes as he watches otoya tap yukimiya’s shoulder. 

“hey, yukimiya, wanna help me find chicks?” the ninja asks. 

“no,” yukimiya declines without any ounce of hesitation.

“fine.” otoya rolls his eyes. “help me find a different book instead.” he flails pride and prejudice with his hands. “something like this.” 

you were dismayed when yukimiya agreed to help otoya find a different book. that perforative ninja is not gonna read it anyway, is what you first thought. but after looking at the bright side, at least you can now get back on track with your studies. 

“so, [name], is yer chem finals over?”

without batting an eye at him, you answer. “no and i haven’t even opened my chem notes.” you flip your current reviewer. “that is a problem for another day,” you chuckle lightly.  

“‘s that so..” karasu pretends that he is thinking. “want me to tutor you over the weekends? ya haven’t grasped the IUPAC naming system fully yet, yeah?” 

“whoa.” you turn to look at him. “the karasu tabito is offering to teach me chemistry?” you are in genuine disbelief. “what’s with the sudden offer? a tempting one at that.” 

“nothin’ i just don’t wanna see yer ugly cries if you ever fail.”

“oh shut up,” you scoff, earning a laugh from him. “but hey, i did fail my chem midterms, so i am on thin ice..” you start thinking deeply. 

“so?”

“hm, you know what? fine. just don’t go calling me mediocre if i get some answers wrong during our study.”

karasu laughs. “as if you can easily get one right.”

“hey, how much do you wanna bet on which among the two is going to fall for the other first?”

“i see what was happening back there, but no, i am not betting with you, otoya.” yukimiya closes the book he’s holding. “but,” he smiles. “it does seem like karasu’s on the losing end.” 

karasu raises a hair product with his hand. “i used this new wax, and let’s just say that it’s more like a gel after a couple of hours.” he drops the hair product into the sink. “now my hair’s all stiff and messy even after tryin’ to wash it out.” 

“wait,” you click your tongue as you open one cabinet. “i think i have a hair product that can help with your problem,” you continue while you scramble through various hair care products. “found it!” 

karasu reaches one of his hands out, waiting for you to throw the hair product towards him. 

“oh hell, no. this one’s expensive. i’m not letting you use this without my supervision.” you point the hair product at him as if it’s a weapon of sorts. “i’ll help you with your hair.”

karasu smiles. “be my guest.”

“you’re in my place, crow.” you throw a towel at him. “and put some goddamn shirt on, can you!”

“o-ow! don’t go hard on my scalp, can ya?” your childhood friend holds onto one of your arms as he glares at you with only one eye open. 

you are now sitting in your bathroom’s built-in vanity, while karasu stands just right in the space between your legs.  

“you didn’t even put on your shirt,” you tsk.

“that’s gonna get wet. not like i have other shirts in yer place, idiot.” 

“but your sweats not?” you raise a brow at him. 

“what, you wanna see me butt naked?” your childhood friend teases you, making you point the shower head at him with a glare. “‘m kidding, ‘m kidding,” karasu laughs as he raises both of his hands in the air. 

“hey, can you stay still! some of your hair is so stubborn.” 

“blame the wax.”

“well, it’s your fault for using one.” you flick his forehead.

moments have passed and you are finally almost done trying to fix your childhood friend’s hair. you were pretty focused for the majority of the time. unfortunately for you, by the time you are almost, almost done, you snapped out of your focus, now slowly realizing how seemingly intimate the two of you look. 

you are sitting in your bathroom’s vanity while your childhood friend stands right in the space between your legs, hands resting on the vanity space beside your legs, face almost just a foot away from yours? and are those heavy-lidded eyes..? or are you just tripping?

“w-wait, shit,” you couldn’t help but stammer. “close both of your eyes, can you? if not, then just stop looking up at me like that..”

karasu smirks. “hm, like what?”

“i know you know what i mean.”

“no, i want ya to say it.” karasu’s face boldly inches closer to yours, eyes heavier-lidded than earlier. 

you can already feel your face heat up, but you won’t back down just easily. “oh yeah?” you respond smugly as you straighten up your back, making sure not to break eye contact. “do you want to kiss me or something?” 

“daring, aren’t ya?” karasu tilts his head. 

“yeah, you think so?” you tilt your head as well, mirroring your childhood friend. 

and just with that, it is as if a line had just snapped. 

lips colliding, there is no more space between you and your childhood friend. that space, or rather line, has been crossed. neither of you knows who acted first; everything just happened all of a sudden, but neither of you really cares. 

you found yourself sliding your hand over karasu’s nape, pulling him closer as his hands slide under your shirt. one rests on your waist, trying to pull your body closer, while the other caresses your upper back. 

the kiss is long, hot, and desperate, becoming even more feverish when your childhood friend decides to lick and bite on your bottom lip, wanting to go deeper, urging for more, ultimately making your head swim and leaving both of you breathless right after. 

a trail of saliva became evident right after your lips parted from one another. neither of you knows how long the kiss was; both of you waited until the tension dissipated. 

“i.. don’t know what just happened,” you pant as you clean off the saliva with the back of your hand. “the world stopped for a second.”

“yer good at this, huh,” karasu chuckles, still panting as well. “where did’ya learn that? or from who–” 

“shut it, crow.” you point the shower head at him. “i’m not done debriefing on what the hell happened.” 

“debriefin’. that’s quite a word you got there,” he laughs. “well, now what?”

placing both of your hands on his bare shoulders, you smile smugly. “what’s next is me leaving you to deal with what’s left to deal with your hair.” you press on his shoulders firmly. “i know you’re expecting me to short-circuit, but no, not today.” you wink. 

“today.. does that mean–” karasu’s words immediately get cut off right after you grabbed the shower head and turned it on directly to his face.
