Being in a long distance relationship does not mean:

Your relationship is less valid than a local one

You don’t really love each other

You will never meet

You don’t deserve happiness

You don’t have any self worth

You trust too easily

It will NEVER work out

You will never find true love

Your partner is cheating on you

What it DOES mean:

You deserve to give it a shot

Your relationship is valid

You should put effort into making it work

It can end like any other

It can work out like any other

You deserve love

Even if it doesn’t feel like it, anyone can love you

Your partner is just as committed to you as you are to them

Your relationship is beautiful

This relationship has just as much of a chance at being true love as any other

You have wonderful qualities that anyone can recognize

Your partner loves you

You should never doubt your love

You understand hardship

Everything will work out in the end

1) don’t say mean things about people, behind their backs or to their face. it’s not cool to be inconsiderate of others’ feelings. ignore people who want you to participate in talking badly about others, even if you are not fond of that person.

2) speak gently with a full heart.

3) be perceptive of others’ trauma, daily struggles, disabilities, and insecurities.

4) treat animals with tender respect.

5) don’t act out irrationaly towards the people you love. before you lash out, think about the consequences towards their feelings that would follow.

It’s hard to explain such a complicated matter in a short comic, so please forgive me for not diving deeper in some nuances. Also: I am not black, and I’m Canadian, so I’m not an authority on the matter. I just know how to draw. Listen to black voices.

White men: Don’t use the term Karen. Coming from you, it’s just misogynistic. Karen is a word coined by people of color, mostly black people, in reaction to acts of racism.

And if you’re a white woman campaigning against the use of the term Karen— wonder why you’re not campaigning against the racist acts of the ones that get called Karen.

However, under this new meaning in the context of racism, instead of wanting to get a discount, they’re wanting to enact harm on someone who is part of a group they don’t like, and instead of calling the manager they call the cops.

And instead of getting someone fired they have the power to get them killed.
