Authors note:
I finally post the scenario that won in the poll.
I know it's supposed to be a scenario, and i usually post at least two characters per one post but this one and Byakuya one are so long I have to publish them separately. I'll post Byakuya one next week bc it needs some more love an editing.
I know captain Kurotsuchi might not be fan favorite like our cherry blossom prideful Byakuya-bo but... he came to me as soon as I saw that this specific scenario won the poll so hopefully you'll enjoy his story as well.

The Shinigami Research and Development Institute was not a place for the faint of heart, nor was it a place for those who valued their psychological structural integrity. For the first few weeks after your reassignment to the 12th Division, the other members treated you with the quiet, pitying solemnity usually reserved for a terminal patient. To them, a new high-seated administrative and field specialist placed directly under Captain Kurotsuchi was simply a countdown clock waiting to expire. Either you would fail a clinical directive and find your soul-receptors permanently modified into a household appliance, or you would snap under the sheer, suffocating weight of his manic genius.
They underestimated the absolute density of your spine and the feverish desire to work for this man, ever since you read his publication.
It began on a chaotic Thursday, three weeks into your term. The main laboratory was an absolute sensory assault: the biting, chemical stench of vaporized spirit-particles hung thick in the air, mixing with the sharp, ozone tang of overdriven monitors. Mayuri was in the middle of a grand, theatrical meltdown. A specialized containment unit holding a highly volatile reishi-parasite had developed a micro-fracture, and three lower-seat researchers were currently pressed against the far wall, weeping silently as the captain hovered over them like a painted god of death.
"Miserable, thick-skulled amoebas!" Mayuri shrieked, his voice a jagged, serrated blade that made the fluorescent lights overhead seem to flicker in terror. His massive headdress cast a fractured, swinging shadow across the white-tiled floor. He brandished a long, golden-capped fingernail directly at the third seat’s nose. "A basic calculation of fluid dynamics! That is all that was required to balance the pressure thresholds! Yet your cognitive faculties are so thoroughly degraded by your own evolutionary stagnation that you have compromised a specimen I spent four months cultivating! Speak! Give me one reason why I should not dissolve your temporal lobes and use them as culture medium for my next synthesis!"
The room was paralyzed. Akon stood near the main console, his hand resting on his chin, letting out a heavy, internal sigh, already calculating the paperwork required for a sudden personnel deficit.
Then, the crisp, rhythmic click of your shoes broke the silence. You walked directly into the hot zone of his flaring, jagged reiatsu. You didn't choke, your knees didn't buckle, and your hands didn't shake as you set down a heavy, reinforced containment cylinder right on the table beside the leaking specimen.
"Because dissolving his temporal lobes will take exactly forty-five minutes of laboratory time that we do not have, Captain." You said. Your voice was a cool, deadpan tone, completely devoid of fear, mockery, or sycophancy. "Furthermore, the micro-fracture isn't a result of fluid dynamics. The officers used the correct formula, but failed to account for the local atmospheric humidity of the Seireitei during the current rainy season, which altered the crystallization density of the containment glass by 0.3%. If you swap the containment units now, the parasite survives, and you don't waste your afternoon waiting as someone cleans after an incident."
Mayuri froze. The theatrical wave of his arms stopped mid-air. Slowly, in ominous movement his head turned toward you. His black-and-white painted face was a mask of terrifying, unblinking intensity. Those piercing, unnatural golden eyes narrowed, drilling into your face as if trying to dissect your thoughts through your skull. The entire lab held its breath. Akon’s eyes widened slightly, his posture straightening as he prepared to intervene before you were vaporized.
Your mind was perfectly calm as he stared at you with hostility in his eyes. He is a creature of absolute logic. If I provide a superior logical variable, his ego will choose science every single time. For ten agonizing seconds, the only sound was the high-pitched hiss of the leaking gas. Then, Mayuri let out a low, rasping click from the back of his throat, a sound that was half-irritation, half-fascination.
"Huh." He murmured, his voice dropping from a shriek to a smooth purr. He snatched the cylinder from your hand. "So the new asset actually possesses a functioning cerebral cortex. How thoroughly unexpected. Most of the garbage they send me cannot even balance their own spiritual homeostasis without instructions. Akon! Transfer the specimen. And you—" He pointed a sharp finger directly at your chest. "—clean up this baseline data. You have precisely six minutes before I find your lack of administrative formatting offensive."
As Mayuri turned his back to resume his work, Akon let out a long, slow breath, shooting you a look of profound, bewildered respect. You merely adjusted your uniform, pulled up the data-log, and got to work.
…
Over the next two weeks, that initial impression deepened into a flawless, almost eerie coordination. You became a permanent fixture at his primary laboratory table, a silent shadow that operated with the predictive accuracy of a highly calibrated machine.
It was one late evening when the true weight of your utility cemented itself in Mayuri's analytical mind. He was deep into the vivisection of a high-density reishi construct, his fingers moving in a blur of terrifying, frantic precision. The air was thick and heavy, smelling of the suffocating, metallic tang of exposed soul-strings and the sharp, vinegar scent of chemical stabilizing fluids. Mayuri’s spiritual pressure was a tight, vibrating hum in the room, a constant, silent warning that a single mistake from his assistant would trigger an explosive, flesh-dissolving cascade.
He didn't speak. He didn't look up. He merely snapped his right hand outward blindly, his long, golden fingernail twitching in the air - an unspoken demand for an instrument he hadn't even named. To any other researcher in the 12th Division, this was a lethal guessing game that usually ended in a demotion or a trip to the intensive care unit. To you, it was a simple equation based on the precise angle of his incision and the fluctuating density on the monitor. Without a single word, you reached into the sterilized tray, selected the silver, curved retractor, and smoothly placed it perfectly into his open palm. Your fingers didn't tremble as your skin briefly brushed the thick, cool leather of his glove.
Mayuri’s hand clamped down on the metal. He didn't even pause to look at it. His arm moved instantly back to the specimen, the tool fitting perfectly into the microscopic incision he was making. He didn't lose a single millisecond of momentum. Three seconds later, as a sudden, aggressive purple vapor began to hiss violently from the specimen's core, his hand snapped out blindly again. Before his mouth could even open to bark a frantic order for a neutralizing agent, you already had the pressurized vial of liquid compound pressed firmly into his waiting fingers. He executed the chemical purge flawlessly. The dangerous vapor died with a wet, heavy sputter against the stainless steel.
Only then did Mayuri break his rhythm. He paused. His golden eyes darted down to the vial in his hand, then slowly shifted sideways to look at you. You were already resetting the data-pad, your expression completely flat, your thoughts already calculating the next phase of the extraction. Akon, watching from the secondary monitors across the room, slowly lowered his clipboard, utterly transfixed by the sheer fluidity of the interaction. It was an impossible sight: Captain Kurotsuchi, working in absolute, silent harmony with another living organism without shouting a single, venomous insult.
Mayuri let out a long, quiet hiss through his teeth - a sound of deep, predatory satisfaction. He didn't offer a word of praise, as such a concept was entirely beneath his dignity, but the rapid, chaotic twitching of his fingers settled into a cold, deliberate focus. You had effectively spoiled him. By anticipating his chaotic intellect with competence, you had inadvertently set a benchmark so impossibly high that anyone else attempting to assist him would from now on be viewed as a bumbling primitive.
…
But perhaps the true test of your integration into the 12th Division came early in the second month, on an afternoon when you had been dispatched to the archives to retrieve a historical log on standard Quincy encapsulation metrics. In your absence, Mayuri had attempted to conduct a highly precise genetic splicing matrix with the assistance of a seasoned researcher. The experiment required the assistant to adjust the thermal-pulse frequencies at the exact microsecond Mayuri severed the cellular bonds.
It was an absolute disaster. The fourth-seat, hyper-focused on Mayuri's terrifying proximity, mistimed the pulse by a fraction of a second. The glass capsule shattered, coating the interior of the containment box in a smoking, purple slurry.
"Incompetent, ham-fisted parasite!" Mayuri’s screech tore through the structural columns of the room. He swept his arm across the primary console, sending a tray of glass pipettes crashing to the floor in a shower of glittering shards. The assisting officer dropped straight to his stomach, pressing his forehead against the chemical-stained tiles, shaking violently. "A blind, rotting hollow could have executed that sequence with greater manual dexterity! You breathe my oxygen, you occupy my spatial dimensions, and in return, you provide me with nothing but systemic failure!"
Akon stood several paces back, wincing as Mayuri kicked a metal stool across the room, denting the blast door.
"Captain…" Akon attempted to intervene quietly. "The cellular sample can be re-cultivated within forty-eight hours—"
"I do not care about the timeline, Akon! I care about the sheer, unadulterated agony of being surrounded by biological zeroes!" Mayuri violently spun around, his long, golden ornaments whipping through the air. He slammed both hands onto the main desk, his chest heaving under his haori. "Where is the primary asset?! Where is Y/N?!"
"She is currently at the First Division archives, sir. You sent her there two hours ago—"
"Then drag her back by her hair if necessary!" Mayuri bellowed, his voice rising to an unhinged crescendo. "Clear her schedule of all menial administrative trash! The rest of you possess the cognitive parameters of concussed livestock! No one in this entire wretched division operates at an acceptable level of neurological efficiency but her! She is the only specimen capable of anticipating my procedural adjustments without requiring a tedious, multi-layered explanation! Bring her to me instantly, or I shall begin testing the new neural-inhibitor gas on this entire floor!"
Akon didn't dare to wait for a second warning. When you returned twenty minutes later, the main lab looked like a war zone. The lower-seat officers were practically hyperventilating in the corners, and the smell of scorched metal hung heavy in the air. Mayuri was pacing the floor in a manic frenzy. The moment the automated doors hissed open and you stepped inside, carrying the archive logs, his frantic pacing stopped.
He didn't yell at you. Instead, he glided across the floor, stopping so close that his elaborate headpiece nearly brushed your forehead. His golden eyes swept over your calm, entirely unfazed expression. You had to stop yourself from marveling at his sharp jawline. Focus, you worked too hard to get distracted now. You reminded yourself. Working here, being able to see this genius was your biggest dream ever since you stumbled for the first time on his research paper about body modification in the academy years ago.
"You took exactly three minutes and twelve seconds longer than my optimal models predicted." He rasped, though the erratic, jagged edge of his reiatsu suddenly began to settle, smoothing out into a low, heavy hum.
"The Archivist was slow, Captain." You replied smoothly, setting the logs down on the one clean counter left in the room. You looked around at the broken glass and the trembling staff, then looked back at him. "I see you managed to redecorate in my absence. Shall I prep a fresh cellular sample?"
Mayuri let out a low, satisfied hiss, his golden finger pointing down at the empty containment chamber. "Prep the sample, Y/N. And ensure these genetic dropouts remain outside the quarantine radius. Their sheer stupidity is clearly contaminating the air quality." His eyes tracked your moves, stopping at the curves of your hips as you moved through the room and bent down to pick up equipment.
…
The first distinct shift in Captain Kurotsuchi's behavior occurred during a delicate neuro-mapping experiment on a captured beast. The lab was empty save for the two of you, the air smelling heavily of bitter formaldehydes and copper. You were tasked with stabilizing the neural-fluid drip, a process that required keeping your fingers perfectly steady while working centimeters away from a flesh-dissolving acid solution.
Mayuri was pacing behind you, his wooden sandals clacking rhythmically. Suddenly, the sound stopped. You felt the localized pressure of his spiritual energy drop over your shoulders like a heavy, velvet cloak. You didn't move a muscle, your hands remaining perfectly steady as you adjusted the micro-valve. Your internal thoughts screaming to focus, to not let yourself stray to the impossible scenes of his lips on your neck, of his tongue leaving a scorching trace on your skin. You worked too hard for this position. Mayuri leaned over your shoulder, his face coming so close that the long, sharp protrusion of his headdress cast a long shadow across your hands.
"Fascinating." He whispered, his breath warm and smelling faintly of the synthetic mint pastilles he chewed to mask the chemical fumes, you wondered if he tasted like mint as well. "Your resting tremor is non-existent. Under a localized stress environment with highly corrosive elements within a three cm radius, the human autonomic nervous system typically initiates a micro-fluctuation in the distal phalanges. Yet your pulse remains at a perfectly static sixty-two beats per minute."
"It's called basic motor control, Captain." You murmured, keeping your focus on the valve.
"Do not insult my intelligence with primitive terminology." He hissed softly, his voice sliding down into that clinical, purring register. He reached out, his long hand hovering just a millimeter above yours. He didn't touch you yet, but the sheer heat radiating from his hand was palpable. Was he torturing you? "It is a rare manifestation of neurological stability. Your synapses are firing with an exceptionally high velocity, allowing for an immediate compensation of external panic stimuli. It is... highly satisfactory. A genetically inferior specimen would have dropped the vial by now and reduced their own hand to skeletal remains. Your structural composition continues to yield highly efficient data."
Behind the observation glass in the upper corridor, two lower-seat officers who had come to deliver the daily supply logs froze, staring through the glass with wide, horrified eyes. They watched their terrifying captain hover over you, his body practically framing yours against the metal table, speaking to you in a tone that sounded dangerously close to praise. They scrambled away in a panic, whispering rumors about how the new high-seat must have placed a hex on their leader.
…
The second instance occurred a week later, during a late-night analysis of a localized spiritual distortion. You were reviewing a massive, complex wall of spatial equations that Mayuri had scrawled across a pristine glass monitor. He had been staring at it for three hours, growing increasingly volatile because a specific spiritual frequency wasn't aligning with his expectations.
You stood beside him. Your eyes tracked the lines of reishi formulas. "You're tracking the wrong variable." You said suddenly, taking a digital marker from the tray: finally you could help him in a meaningful way. If not for the professionalism running through your veins you’d jump in excitement.
Mayuri’s jaw tightened, his teeth clicking together audibly. "I do not miscalculate, Y/N. If the frequency is non-linear, it is because the universe is inherently flawed, not my equation!"
"The universe is fine, Captain. You used a static baseline for the ambient reishi flow." You countered smoothly, drawing a bold, striking line through a cluster of his symbols and rewriting the variable using a fluid, shifting frequency model. This idea actually came to you after reading one of his old articles about the irregularity of the model in other parts of Seiretei. "The outer districts have a tidal fluctuation due to the constant migration of souls. If you apply a secondary wave function here... the equation balances."
Mayuri stared intently at the rewritten formula. For three full minutes, he didn't move. His eyes darted back and forth across the glass, his brilliant mind processing the absolute correctness of your insight. Slowly, he turned his body fully toward you, pinning you against the edge of the console. You could feel the heat slowly creeping up your neck, you were praying he wouldn’t notice. Hoping that his mind was too occupied with the equations. He stepped so deep into your personal space that the heavy fabric of his haori brushed against your body. He leaned down, his face paint stark under the green neon glow of the monitor, his eyes tracking the precise movement of your pupils.
"Your neural pathways operate at a remarkably offensive speed." He murmured, his voice low, vibrating with a strange, intense energy. "To isolate a localized variable that my own filters categorized as negligible... it indicates a cognitive architecture that does not suffer from the typical conceptual blindness of your peers. Your mind possesses a sharp, realist clarity. It is an exceedingly attractive trait… in a data-processing unit."
You let out a dry chuckle, feeling the thirst for something else than water. You didn’t want to step back or break eye contact. "Is that your way of complimenting me, Captain?"
"Do not be absurd." He snapped, though his eyes lingered on your lips for a fraction of a second longer before he turned back to the monitor. "It is a purely clinical observation of your utility. Nothing more."
…
By the third month, the dynamic between you had solidified into a deep, comfortable gravity. The other officers no longer feared for your life, instead, they looked at you with a kind of mystical awe.
It was during this time that Mayuri's rationalizations began to require increasingly elaborate mental gymnastics. It was past midnight, during his designated personal maintenance cycle (a rare window of downtime where he typically retracted into his room to recalibrate his physical prosthetics). Yet, he found himself walking down the dim, metallic corridor toward the secondary archives where you were finishing the monthly division audit.
He pushed the door open without a sound. You were sitting at a long desk, surrounded by towers of paperwork, a single desk lamp illuminating the sharp, focused lines of your face. Mayuri stepped into the light, holding a completely trivial, outdated ledger on standard Soul Society atmospheric weight from eighty years ago.
"I require an immediate cross-reference of these metrics against the modern data sets." He announced coldly, tossing the ledger onto your desk rudely.
You looked at the dusty book, then looked up at him. "Captain, this data hasn't been relevant since the pre-modern era. This could easily wait until morning hours."
Mayuri leaned his hands on the desk, his golden eyes wide, staring at you with an intense, unyielding fixation. His inner voice trying to convince himself that the menial task he gave you was either part of some torture-game or he actually needed the data, ignoring the fact that he had explicitly sought you out just to be near you. "My intellect does not adhere to the clock, Y/N." He murmured aloud, his voice a low, rough vibration in the quiet room. "And I find that your voice processes logical data with a frequency that doesn't cause me immediate cognitive irritation. Begin the audit now."
You let out a soft sigh, but a small hopeful smile tugged at your lips. "Sit down then, Captain.”
…
Two days later, a grueling, three-week-long structural mapping project finally reached its successful completion. The central laboratory was filled with the rare, collective sigh of absolute, exhausted relief from all officers. The heavy scent of burnt reishi was finally clearing from the overhead vents. Buzzing with uncharacteristic excitement, a group of researchers huddled near the doorway, loudly whispering plans to head down to a bar in the lower districts for a celebratory team dinner.
Akon was stepping away from his terminal when they reached out to include you in the circle. Mayuri, was lingering just on the perimeter of the group, pretending to adjust the dial on an unpowered autoclave, his long ear-ornaments clinking sharply in the sudden quiet. His spiritual pressure hung low and heavy, a sudden, icy spike of tension rippling through the air the moment the word "dinner" began circulating. You gathered your data-pads, turning your head slightly to catch his eyes tracking you from the shadows. With a completely calm, natural tone, you addressed him directly. "Would you like to join us, Captain? The project finished ahead of schedule."
Mayuri snapped completely upright, his wide sleeves flaring as he slid across the floor to loom over the entire group. "Do not be utterly, entirely ridiculous!" He sneered, his voice a sharp, venomous rasp that caused the nearby researchers to instantly jump backward. "I do not allocate my precious resources to watch a collection of low-level organisms consume organic matter and degenerate into mindless, drunken babble! It is a monumental waste of capital!" He violently turned his black-and-white painted face toward you, his eyes narrowing into calculated, piercing slits. "In fact, Y/N, you will not be participating in this primitive tribal gathering either. Your presence is required immediately in sector five. A secondary testing cycle for the high-density spiritual inhibitor requires an active baseline data-processor that isn't currently preoccupied with thoughts of fried tofu and cheap sake. Move."
Akon winced, letting out a heavy, silent breath of pure pity as the lower-seated officers began backing out of the automated doors, casting mournful glances in your direction. As the group hurried down the metallic corridor away from the main lab, their hushed, terrified whispers floated back through the closing door.
"Man, I feel so bad for Y/N..." One murmured.
"Yeah, no shit…" Another shuddered. "I don't know what's worse: being targeted by the captain's fury, or when he actually finds you useful and forces you into his cage."
Inside the lab, you merely let out a soft chuckle, your expression remained thoroughly amused, a private wave of satisfaction warming your chest as you stacked your papers. "I'm moving, Captain." You said smoothly, a small glint in your eye as you walked past him toward sector five.
…
The very next afternoon you actually had to have an internal conversation with yourself. You were either slowly losing your mind to your own lust or… the most brilliant scientist alive took interest in you. Either that or your own cognitive system was lying to you. You were taking part in a physical audit of the division’s specialized field armor: standing on a low platform, adjusting the kinetic plates on a prototype vest, when Mayuri walked in. He dismissed the technicians with a single, dismissive wave of his hand, leaving the room instantly silent. He walked around the platform slowly, like a predator evaluating a rare specimen.
"Your posture is remarkably resilient." He observed, his voice echoing slightly in the high-ceilinged room. He stepped up onto the platform, standing directly behind you. His long hands reached out, his fingertips pressing firmly against the sides of your neck, right where your cervical spine met your shoulders. Your heart was pounding so hard against your chest all you could hear was the rush of blood in your ears. The skin on your neck burned, you wanted to drop the plate and pull him into a kiss. Your breath caught slightly at the sudden, firm pressure, but you didn’t dare to move, you stayed perfectly upright.
"The alignment of your cervical vertebrae is optimal." Mayuri murmured, his fingers tracing down the line of your neck with agonizing slowness, pressing into the muscle tissue with a firm, possessive force. "Most shinigami slouch when subjected to prolonged desk work, causing a degradation of the upper spinal column. Yet you maintain a structural integrity that suggests an innate physical pride. It is a highly durable design. I am concluding an observation that your body is constructed to endure a significantly higher threshold of physical pressure than the average officer. A highly useful attribute for the tasks I intend to assign to you."
You had to force every fibre in your muscles not to shudder under his touch, it felt like torture and yet you were sure that if you tried anything, touched him, kissed him, he’d back away, hide behind his pride and reason. You had to keep your cool, even if all you wanted to do was turn around and trace his jawline with your mouth, even if you were ready to beg him to never stop touching you again. "Are you inspecting my body, Captain?" You asked, your voice low as you maintained eye contact with his reflection in the polished steel wall. Confidence was key when talking to this man. At least that’s what you told yourself.
His fingers tightened for one heavy, dragging second, pressing firmly into your shoulders before he let go. "I am auditing an asset, Y/N. If the asset is structurally flawed, it reflects poorly on my management."
That night, your mind wouldn’t let you fall asleep. Your thoughts spun in a relentless, exhausting loop, replaying the scene over and over again until the dark bedroom felt suffocatingly small. It went as far as making you feel the distinct, lingering phantoms of his touch on your skin: cold fingers pressing with deliberate, grounding firmness into your shoulders. You couldn’t stop yourself from imagining how those hands would feel tracing different, uncharted parts of your body, caressing you where no one else had ever dared to touch, testing the absolute limits of your sanity. You ended up torturing and frustrating yourself with those vivid, forbidden fantasies until the first pale light of dawn finally broke through your window.
…
Three weeks dragged by without a single instance of physical contact. Your captain remained strictly behind his pristine glass monitors and glowing consoles, his intense, golden gaze tracking your movements from across the room, but his hands remained strictly to himself. With each passing day of absolute physical distance, you aggressively disciplined your own mind. You told yourself that your brain was simply playing cruel tricks on you, weaving elaborate fabrications. You resolved to leave it be, to bury the lingering, frustrating ache beneath a mountain of work. You were a realist, you belonged to this division, and the only thing that mattered was work.
You had almost convinced yourself that you were back in complete control of your senses..
"Incompetent! Utterly devoid of basic evolutionary foresight!" Captain Mayuri Kurotsuchi’s voice cut through the hum of the machinery like a serrated scalpel. His face paint glistened slightly under the harsh, buzzing fluorescent lights as he brandished a specialized bone-saw, his middle fingernail twitching with theatrical irritation. "The logic of Central 46 is a fascinating study in cognitive decay. They expect me to map the spiritual fluctuations with tools that belong in the prehistoric era!"
The lower-seat researchers in the room had already begun their ritualistic trembling, retreating into the shadows of their monitors to avoid becoming the target of his next spontaneous biological reassignment. Your spine however remained perfectly straight, an iron anchor in the middle of his swirling tempest of megalomania. Without looking up from the inventory data-pad in your left hand, your right hand smoothly reached into a sanitized tray, selected the exact micro-tweezers he would need the moment his rant subsided, and held them out in his peripheral vision. This became a routine for you.
"Your blood pressure is spiking by approximately twelve percent, Captain." You said, your voice a cool cadence that cut right through his theatrical crescendo. "And while your critique of the judiciary system is always a masterpiece of linguistic venom, even a god needs to submit the formal budget request by 4:00 PM today. Otherwise they will freeze our funding allocation again."
Mayuri paused mid-gesture, the bone-saw hovering centimeters from a bizarre, gelatinous hollow organ. He slowly turned his head toward you. Any other officer would have broken into a cold sweat under that unblinking, golden glare. You merely swapped the tweezers for a clipboard, holding a pen out by its cap. Yet, behind that flawless, deadpan mask of professional competence, a fierce battle was waging beneath your ribs. Looking straight into those piercing, unnatural eyes at such terrifyingly level proximity forced you to violently smother a sudden, white-hot flare of want that sparked deep within you. The sheer gravity of his presence, that sharp, chemical scent of him was an intoxicating pull, demanding every ounce of your willpower to crush the dangerous flame before it could crack your facade. You kept your gaze immovable against the tide of your own buried desire, refusing to let him see the friction he caused.
He snatched the pen, a low, rasping click vibrating in his throat. "You possess an infuriatingly mundane mind, Y/N. A lesser specimen would be contemplating the architecture of the world, yet you drag me back to fiscal deadlines."
"The world doesn't pay for your lab, sir. Sign at the bottom."
He scribbled his name with an aggressive, jagged flourish, tossing the clipboard back onto your chest. You caught it effortlessly, checking the signature with a small, satisfied nod before slipping it under your arm. He never stopped observing you, different kind of irritation bubbling inside of him as he watched your calm self. He much more preferred it when you showed entertaining reactions, suppressing tremors and trying to hide blush on your face.
…
By 3:00 AM, the laboratory had descended into its true sanctuary state. The harsh overhead lights were dimmed, replaced by the neon-blue and green glow of the monitors. The only sounds left in the world were the rhythmic, mechanical hum of the central cooling units and the steady, rhythmic scratching of the captain's pen against a stack of parchment.
You were sitting on a stool just two feet away from his desk, a stack of outer-district field reports resting in your lap. The deep, heavy gravity of the late-night shift settled between you both. You turned a page, the crisp paper rustling in the quiet room. Mayuri paused his writing. Without lifting his chin from his palm, his golden eyes shifted to look at you. Your faces were completely level. The proximity was intoxicatingly close. You could see the minute textures of the white paint where it met the dark, stark lines. Suddenly, he rose from his chair, the heavy silk of his haori whispering against the floorboards as he stepped directly into your personal space. He didn't just lean over you, he hovered intentionally close, his painted face slanting right beside the curve of your neck. His breath was warm, smelling faintly of synthetic mint, as he murmured a low, hyper-detailed clinical observation directly against your ear shell.
"The atmospheric pressure in this sector is perfectly regulated." He murmured, his voice dropping into a low, rasping purr that vibrated like a localized electrical current straight through your nerve endings. "Yet your vascular pathways have recently displayed a sudden, highly erratic, and uncalibrated surge. I wonder..." He leaned a millimeter closer as his breath ghosted over your sensitive skin. "...if my current hypothesis will prove correct? That my immediate physical proximity acts as the primary catalyst for your systemic destabilization." A distinct, dark thread of wicked amusement and clinical teasing ran through his tone. A rare, mocking cadence that let you know he was thoroughly enjoying the physical effect he had on you. It was a sound that made your stomach knot with a fierce, maddening blend of frustration and intense desire, his gold eyes glittering with the triumph of a scientist who had just cracked a secret code. Despite your iron resolve and your best efforts to hide the reaction behind a flat expression, you felt a wave of sudden heat bloom furiously across your skin. Your ears turned a distinct, undeniable dark red under the harsh neon glow.
Mayuri pulled back just a bit, his eyes wide and glittering with deep, predatory amusement as he mapped the flush. Fascinating, his internal monologue hummed with a cold, rapid intensity. A completely voluntary cognitive attempt at restraint, utterly betrayed by the vasodilation of the auricular capillaries. Her body is rebelling against her mind.
Before you could formulate a sharp, grounding retort, he smoothly shifted his weight, gliding behind your stool to reach for a ledger on the upper shelf. He moved with a calculated proximity, intentionally crowding your space so aggressively that the back of your body fell right into him. As your back pressed flush against his chest, the sudden, solid weight of his presence sent a visceral shiver straight down your spine. Your shoulders tensed, a tiny, involuntary gasp caught in your throat from the overwhelming physical contact. Mayuri paused, his hands remaining on the shelf above you as he looked down over your shoulder, tracking the micro-tremor of your skeletal muscles with absolute, unhinged satisfaction.
Then, his hand drifted down with agonizing slowness. The long, gold-sheathed tip of his finger slowly reached out, the cool, polished metal brushing with agonizing slowness against the exposed skin of your wrist, right where your sleeve had shifted. He clamped his fingers onto your pulse, applying a firm pressure that pinned your hand against the desk. You could feel wetness pooling between your thighs.
"Your heart rate has accelerated by four beats per minute." He whispered, his lips barely moving. "An involuntary autonomic response. Fascinating. It seems my presence acts as a direct neural stimulant to your system after all."
Your sharp eyes snapped up, flashing with fire as they locked directly with his triumphant glare. The proximity was dizzying. Your lips were centimeters from touching, so close that the heavy, sweet-chemical scent of his threatened to steal the remaining air from your lungs. In the heavy, breathless silence, you saw his gaze slide down, his eyes fixating entirely on your mouth. A rare, unscripted glitch fractured his absolute control - his tongue wet his own lower lip, a purely involuntary movement of anticipation that shattered his facade.
"Maybe I just don't like being interrupted while I'm reading, Captain." You murmured back, your voice dropping into a low, teasing challenge that ran like velvet over the space between you. You didn't back down, instead, you leaned in, your mouth hovering on the very precipice of his, offering a blatant, dangerous invitation for something more. Something you knew, with absolute certainty, that both of you wanted.
For one heavy, dragging second, the universe suspended itself. The gold-sheathed tip of his finger dug with agonizing, bruising firmness into the skin of your wrist, anchoring you to his heat. Then, the tempo broke.
"Lie to someone with lesser instruments, Y/N." He replied, his voice a low, rough vibration that scraped against your lips. Before either of you could bridge the gap, Mayuri smoothly pulled back. The sudden absence of his towering frame felt like a physical drop. He glided right back to his desk, the heavy fabric of his haori swirling sharply around his legs as he sat down, picked up his pen, and resumed his writing as if the entire interaction had been nothing more than a routine data entry.
A cold, bitter wave of disappointment crashed over you, followed instantly by a heavy, maddening frustration that made your hands ball into tight fists against your lap. Your skin felt exposed and freezing where his chest and fingers had just been crowding you. The sudden, agonizing contrast between the roaring chaos in your blood and the crisp, methodical scratching of his nib against the parchment was almost insulting. He had deliberately dangled the temptation, pushed you to the very edge of your restraint, and then callously retreated behind his paperwork, leaving you entirely stranded in the quiet dark.
…
The next day Mayuri had stood before the primary console barking sharp directives at a sweating, noticeably pale Fifth-Seat researcher. "You will proceed to the coordinate matrix immediately, Oshima!" Mayuri had hissed, his voice a theatrical rasp. "The spatial distortion is yielding rare, non-linear reishi metrics. If you fail to retrieve the primary core crystal intact, I will dismantle your sensory pathways and use them to wire the secondary servers! Do you comprehend?!"
Oshima had bowed frantically, coughing a dry, raspy wheeze into his sleeve, his face flushed with fever that was clearly degrading his coordination. The moment Mayuri turned his back and swept grandly out of the room toward his private study, the pale researcher stumbled against a lab bench, his hands shaking violently as he reached for the heavy, specialized data-retrieval unit. You stood a few paces back, taking in the scene with cold calculation. Sending a sick person on a mission of this magnitude was practically begging for an accident, and your pragmatic nature simply wouldn't allow the Captain's the team's two-month project to go to waste over a logistical failure. Besides, after the lingering frustration of last night, you desperately needed to get out of the laboratory. You needed to put some immediate, physical distance between yourself and the captain to clear your head. A field assignment in the outer districts provided the perfect opportunity to escape.
Stepping forward, the crisp click of your shoes stopped Oshima in his tracks. You smoothly reached out and took the heavy retrieval unit directly from his trembling fingers, your grip firm.
"Go to the 4th Division infirmary." You said in a tone that brooked no argument. "You are sick and running a fever. I'll take care of the extraction."
He looked at you with a mixture of profound, trembling gratitude and sheer terror of what the captain will do, but he didn't hesitate, quickly retreating toward the exit. Slapping the heavy data unit into your tactical harness, you checked your zanpakutō and departed for the wasteland.
…
The district was a desolate, jagged expanse of gray stone and choking, dust-laden wind. The spiritual distortion hung in the air like a weeping, violent tear in reality, crackling with erratic purple lightning. The moment you deployed the first stabilization rod, the spatial tear snapped open, and a massive, multi-limbed hollow erupted from the haze. Its chalk-white mask was twisted into a multi-eyed grimace, its reishi density was dangerously compressed.
You handled the threat with calculated efficiency. Shifting your focus, you dodged the creature’s initial, sweeping strikes, your movements kicking up clouds of gray dust as you jumped with precision. Your strategy was flawless, but as you stepped in to lock the retrieval unit onto the fracturing crystal core, the hollow executed a frantic, unexpected attack. A jagged shockwave threatened to smash directly into the glass casing of the delicate data unit. You had less than a second to react. Shifting your stance would save you, but the debris would shatter the core. You actively chose to drop your left guard, twisting your torso to completely shield the retrieval unit against your chest, exposing your left upper arm and chest to the creature's massive, razor-sharp claw.
The blow hit with a sickening, heavy crunch. The claw sliced deeply into your left shoulder and upper arm, tearing through your uniform and carving a bloody gash across the flesh. Hot, bright pain flared through your entire side. A dark, heavy torrent of crimson instantly soaking through your clothes and spilling onto the dust. A grimace of pain ran through your expression. Still, keeping your right hand perfectly steady on the console, you pressed the extraction key, hearing the satisfying click of the core locking safely into the containment shield. Data is secure. Your mind noted with cold, detached satisfaction through the white-hot haze of pain. Now, clear the field.
With a sudden, explosive surge of your own spiritual pressure, you drew your sword with your hand. Shifting your weight onto your back foot, you lunged forward through the blood-spattered wind. The blade cut through the air with a sharp, lethal whistle, cleaving cleanly through the center of the hollow's mask. The creature let out a bubbling, discordant shriek before dissolving into a scattering of black ash.
…
An hour later, the atmosphere inside the 12th Division's main laboratory was bordering on apocalyptic. Before you even opened the doors, Mayuri’s unhinged, deafening screech could be heard vibrating through the reinforced steel walls. He was towering over a kneeling, shivering Oshima, his massive headdress casting a jagged shadow across the room, his long golden fingernail twitching centimeters from the officer's pale forehead.
"I demanded the reishi core precisely seven minutes ago, you sniveling, evolutionary dead-end!" Mayuri bellowed, his voice rising to an unhinged crescendo. "And where on earth is Y/N?! Why is it that absolutely no one takes their directives seriously today?! I am surrounded by biological zeroes who cannot even execute a baseline extraction without misplacing my assets!"
The automated blast doors hissed open. You walked into the laboratory. Your posture dead-straight, your resolve keeping you perfectly upright despite the significant loss of blood. The entire left side of your shihakusho was a shredded, wet canvas of dark, blooming crimson, and a steady trail of blood was dripping from your fingertips onto the white tiled floor. Your face was noticeably pale, but your right hand was rock-steady as you held out the heavy, completely pristine, and glowing containment unit.
"The data is safe and entirely intact, Captain." You said, your voice cutting right through his screaming tempest.
The entire laboratory went instantly, terrifyingly silent. Mayuri froze mid-gesture, his golden eyes snapping away from Oshima to lock onto the blood soaking your frame. The temperature in the room plummeted below freezing. A suffocating, heavy, and jagged wave of his reiatsu filled it like crushing weight, making the glass test tubes on the nearby tables rattle violently against their metal racks. The lower-seat officers gasped, some dropping to their knees under the sudden pressure.
Mayuri didn't look worried. He looked utterly, blindingly furious.
"Akon!" He bellowed, his voice echoing off the metallic walls like a thunderclap. "Take the data core from her hands before her clumsy, leaking fluids contaminate the crystal! Isolate it in chamber three immediately!"
Akon scrambled forward, his face pale, carefully taking the pristine, untouched core from your steady hands before retreating as fast as his legs could carry him. Before you could even open your mouth to explain, Mayuri crossed the distance between you in a blur of black and white fabric. He didn't gently inspect your injury. Instead, his hand shot out, his fingers clamping onto your uninjured arm with a terrifying, unyielding grip that practically bruised the flesh beneath your sleeve. He yanked you forward, his painted face twisting into a sneer of pure rage just inches from your own.
"Look at you!" He snarled, his voice a harsh, venomous rasp. "Walking into my laboratory looking like a butchered animal! The field equipment provided to your sector is apparently substandard, unacceptable garbage! I will have to personally dismantle and upgrade your entire defensive loadout immediately so you stop ruining the sterile, pristine aesthetics of my workspace with your crude, primitive bleeding! Do you have any idea how irritating it is to look at a compromised asset?!"
"Captain, it's a minor laceration…" You said, your voice entirely steady, downplaying the severe gash entirely because you refused to show weakness or become an unnecessary burden to his research schedule, though your own reiatsu flared slightly to push back against his suffocating pressure.
"Silence!" He shrieked, dragging you toward his private quarters with a frantic, agitated energy. "Your opinions on your own physical integrity are entirely irrelevant!"
The heavy, reinforced titanium blast doors of Mayuri’s private laboratory slammed shut behind you with a loud, pressurized hiss and the ominous, heavy click of three separate automated locks turning over. The room was a sanctuary of terrifying genius, smelling intensely of ozone, heavy copper reagents, and the distinct, bitter scent of his personal medical compounds. Mayuri himself was currently in a state of frenzied agitation, the long fabric of his haori swirling around his ankles like a storm cloud as he practically dragged you toward the central stainless-steel medical table. "Sit!" He commanded, his voice a fierce, breathless rasp.
You hoisted yourself onto the edge of the cold table, your legs dangling over the side. Because of the deeper nature of the wound, your breathing was slightly shallow, but you controlled your expression making it completely flat, your eyes tracking his erratic, manic movements as he grabbed tools from the counters. He sliced the remaining bloody fabric of your left sleeve away with a pair of surgical shears, exposing the deep gouges cutting into the muscle of your shoulder. Mayuri let out a sharp, furious hiss through his teeth, his fingers twitching with frantic speed as he slammed a cotton swab soaked in a stinging, green antiseptic directly onto the wound.
The chemical burned into your raw flesh like liquid fire. You didn't flinch, keeping your torso perfectly still under his hands, though your knuckles turned slightly white against the edge of the metal table.
"You are an absolute, insufferable fool, Y/N!" He shouted, his voice echoing off the reinforced walls as he aggressively wiped the blood from your skin. "You walk out there with your absurd, unyielding arrogance, treating your own physical vessel as if it were a disposable piece of scrap metal! Do you have any concept of the sheer, catastrophic inconvenience it would cause me if you were permanently destroyed by some low-level, insignificant piece of trash?!"
He dropped the shears with a harsh, clattering ring against the tray, his hands shaking. A pure, suffocating surge of adrenaline and raw, possessive fury that he would never admit to feeling, let alone experiencing ran through his veins. His massive ego and absolute, deep-seated possessiveness were completely short-circuiting his usual detachment, melting his scientific filter into pure manic energy.
He abruptly turned his back to you, marching over to a bio-locked steel cabinet on the far wall. He pressed his palm against the scanner and it slid open to reveal a hidden compartment containing a single, sleek obsidian vial filled with a shimmering, iridescent silver fluid. This was a highly experimental cellular regeneration serum, a compound he had synthesized exclusively for himself. He marched back to you, drawing the silver fluid into a specialized micro-injector. Without a word of warning, he pressed the device against the edge of your deep wound and deployed the serum.
The effect was instantaneous and intense. A strange, deep, and heavily crushing pressure flooded the tissue as the silver fluid forced your cells to rapidly realign, the torn muscle fibers knitting back together with an unnatural, breathless velocity. The heavy sensation acted as a powerful physical anchor against the burning pain.
You were looking in astonishment at his genius serum, something you only read about and thought was theoretical. He aggressively slammed his palms onto the cold stainless-steel table on either side of your thighs with a thud, making you look straight in his eyes as he continued his angry monologue.
"I refuse to allow it! I refuse to let you die!" His voice dropped from a frenzied shriek into a fierce, breathless hiss, his black-and-white painted face positioned just inches from your nose. You could see the manic dilation of his pupils as he fought the very physical shaking wracking his frame, his breath hitting your face in hot, jagged puffs. "I have already compiled the data! I have run the simulations! I have concluded that an eternity in this wretched, stagnant world without your specific intellect to challenge mine, without your insufferable, stubborn pragmatism to manage my thoughts, would be an absolute atrocity of boredom! You are... you are the only anomaly in this entire world that I actually wish to keep around permanently! Do you understand me, YOU FOOLISH CREATURE?! You belong in this laboratory, intact, under my jurisdiction!"
The echoes of his furious voice bounced off the metallic walls and then, abruptly, died.
The private laboratory went completely, utterly dead silent.
The only sound left was the rapid, shallow breathing filtering through his teeth. He froze in place, his hands still pressed firmly against the metal table on either side of you. Underneath his elaborate face paint, a dark, sudden flush of heat was clearly visible, spreading down his neck. His golden eyes widened slightly as the brilliant, terrifying intellect of the 12th Division captain finally caught up with his mouth.
Instead of getting flustered by his heavy proximity or his sudden, frantic outburst, you just sat there on the high edge of the metal examination table. Your eyes gleaming. A slow, smug, and deeply satisfied smirk began to curl the very edges of your lips, and though you made a conscious, practical effort to suppress the expression, the triumphant warmth thumping heavily against your ribs made it entirely impossible to hide the sheer delight dancing in your gaze. You let the heavy silence stretch, intentionally drowning the brilliant Captain Kurotsuchi in his own embarrassment, watching him completely fail to come up with a clean excuse for his feelings.
"I... what I meant to articulate…" Mayuri stammered, his voice suddenly losing its theatrical style, turning sharp and defensive as his fingers clawed at the edge of the metal table. He quickly spun around, turning his back completely to you in a desperate attempt to regain control of the situation and mask the flashing heat burning beneath his paint. He adjusted his cuffs with a jerk, his posture locking up into a tense, hostile line.
"Get rid of that absurdly smug look, Y/N! You have clearly, completely misunderstood my words!" He snapped fiercely. "I was merely evaluating the long-term division metrics and the replacement cost of a high-seated asset! And let me make this entirely clear: not a word of this lapse in dialogue goes outside these walls, or I will personally ensure your next neurological diagnostic is an experience you—"
He didn't get to finish the threat. Instead, you slid smoothly off the edge of the metal examination table, stepped directly into his personal space, your shoes clicking firmly against the tiles as you closed the final inch between your bodies. Before he could even register your movement, you reached for him, your fingers wrapping tightly into the heavy fabric of his haori, and pulled him down firmly into a deep kiss. The moment of physical contact was like a sudden, violent grounding wire striking the earth. All the frantic and irritated energy that had been vibrating through his frame instantly evaporated.
Captain Kurotsuchi let out a low, rough growl against your mouth, and the metal tray of surgical tools behind him was violently knocked to the floor as his arms snapped around you. The tools clattered loudly against the tiles, completely forgotten.
His reaction was stripped of all scientific detachment. His large hands slid down to the small of your back and his long fingers locked onto your waist with an intense, crushing firmness. He didn't hold you gently. He pulled your body flush against his chest with a heavy pressure that would have terrified any other soul in the Soul Society. But for you that crushing weight was exactly what you needed. The heavy, possessive force of his grip acted as a physical anchor, pressing your hips firmly against his. Proving beyond any shadow of a doubt that despite all his arrogant behaviour, his cold speeches, and his claims of biological superiority, he was utterly, desperately terrified of losing his grip on you.
The kiss was sharp, deep and possessive. Tasting faintly of the bitter herbs he used and the hot, electric spark of his lingering reiatsu. His hands squeezed your waist tighter, his fingers digging into the fabric of your uniform, holding you so close that you could feel the rapid thudding of his heart against your own chest.
When he finally pulled back just enough to allow you both to breathe, he didn't let go of your waist. His hands remained locked around you like heavy iron vices. He rested his forehead heavily against yours, his breath coming in ragged, warm puffs that mingled with your own. He let out a long, defeated, and deeply frustrated sigh, his golden eyes burning down into yours with an unhinged intensity that made no apologies for what it was.
"If you ever," Mayuri muttered, his voice dropping into a low, rough, and thoroughly dangerous rasp against your lips. "Allow some inferior, third-rate creature to draw your blood again... I will personally modify your nervous system to ensure that every minor scratch feels like a localized execution. You are a permanent fixture of this laboratory, Y/N. I will not have anyone else touching my property, nor will I tolerate you being handled by anyone but me. Do you understand?"
You let out a soft, slow smile, your hand still firmly gripping his haori as you maintained his level, intense gaze, completely unbothered. "So, Captain..." You murmured, your voice carrying a smooth, teasing glint of pure amusement. "Are we getting back to work?" Mayuri’s golden eyes flashed with a sudden, dark, and deeply possessive light. A slow, thoroughly dangerous grin spread beneath his face paint, his fingers digging into your waist with an intense firmness that left no room for escape.
"Work?" He rasped, his voice dropping into a low, intoxicating purr as he violently yanked your body back flush against his chest, trapping you entirely against the edge of the metal table. "Do not be utterly absurd, Y/N. I will be concluding my experiments on you right here for the rest of the day. I find myself suddenly possessed of... an extensive list of highly invasive ideas. You think a successful extraction clears you of accountability?" Mayuri murmured, his voice dropping into a low, gravelly rasp that vibrated directly against your ear. His large hands gripped you with a crushing, possessive firmness, lifting you back onto the high edge of the cold stainless-steel examination table. Before you could even offer a response, his composure cracked. Unable to help himself against the pull of your presence, Mayuri leaned down aggressively, slamming his lips onto yours in a sudden, punishingly deep kiss that tasted of raw impatience. It was a chaotic surrender to his own desire, his fingers digging fiercely into your flesh as he pulled your frame hard against his chest. He broke away, his breathing ragged, before his voice locked back into its clinical, tyrannical cadence. "You deserve a severe punishment for such reckless behavior in the field. I intend to be thoroughly, ruthlessly meticulous with it."
A thick, liquid weight of anticipation pooled heavily in your lower belly at his words, your blood turning to fire. The sheer, dangerous promise in his tone didn't frighten you… it coiled tight inside your chest, a desperate, hungry ache answering him. He reached over to the main console and sharply clicked a mechanical switch. With a heavy, pressurized hiss, a massive, seamless sheet of highly polished, reflective metal slid down from the reinforced ceiling panel directly above the examination table, locking into place. The overhead mirror captured your image from a perfect, bird's-eye angle, initially reflecting nothing but the dark, torn fabric of your blood-stained uniform and the tense, heated flush of your face.
"Stand up." He commanded suddenly, his golden eyes wide and burning with a cold, analytical focus as he stepped back, crossing his arms into his wide sleeves. "Strip. I require a completely unobstructed view. Do not waste my time with hesitation."
Your breath caught in your throat, the anticipation thickening so much it felt like an actual physical weight. You reached for the ties of your dark uniform, your fingers slightly clumsy from the sheer rush of adrenaline. But before you could even unfasten the first knot, Mayuri let out a low, impatient hiss through his teeth.
"Too slow. Your manual dexterity is clearly lagging." He rasped, gliding forward in a blur of black and white fabric. His hands shot out, entirely bypassing any pretense of gentleness. With efficient ruthlessness, his fingers hooked into the fabric of your shihakusho, ripping the dark cloth away from your body in a single, aggressive jerk. The torn uniform was cast aside, completely baring the smooth expanse of your skin to the harsh, buzzing surgical lights.
Now, the overhead mirror perfectly captured the transformation, reflecting every single flush of your bare skin back down at you from a stark angle. Your chest heaved, the vulnerable exposure under his unblinking gaze sending a violent throb of desire straight down to your core.
Mayuri didn't immediately move away. Instead, he leaned in, his face paint stark just centimeters from your skin as he began to investigate your body with pure, unhinged curiosity. He was, after all, fundamentally an observer, fascinated by the structural mechanics of the body. His long fingers glided over the curve of your ribcage, his touch cool and heavy, the contrast of his raw skin stark against yours. He pressed firmly into the muscles of your abdomen, testing the immediate recoil of your tissue, his eyes tracking the mirror above to study your physical reactions from every possible perspective. Every place his touch met your skin left a trailing pathway of goosebumps. You twisted slightly on the table, your body screaming for the clinical detachment to finally snap into raw hunger.
Then, instead of reaching for a chemical vial or a medical serum, Mayuri’s right hand drifted slowly to the hilt of his zanpakutō. A sharp, breathless surge of adrenaline hit your chest as a low, twisted click vibrated in his throat. With a fluid draw, he unsheathed the blade, the metallic ring echoing sharply off the reinforced walls.
"Rip, Ashizogi Jizo." He whispered. The blade instantly mutated into its grotesque, three-pronged shikai form, a thick spiritual pressure bleeding from the metal and hanging heavy in the room. You knew exactly what that blade did. It didn't sever the flesh to kill. It severed the brain's electrical signals to the limbs, inducing an absolute, localized paralysis while leaving the sensory nerve endings completely, exquisitely alive.
"Captain..." You murmured softly, your voice a calm, level anchor. Mayuri paused, the blade hovering inches from your skin. He tilted his head with an ominous precision, the ornaments clinking as his golden eyes scanned your entirely unfazed expression.
"Are you scared, Y/N?" He rasped, a dangerous, testing purr vibrating in his chest. "Most weep at the mere sight of this blade. They beg for their physical autonomy. Do you comprehend what it means to be entirely static under my touch?"
"No, I'm not scared." You replied smoothly, your eyes locking with his glare in complete certainty. "I trust you. My body belongs entirely to you, Captain. Do whatever you want with it."
The sheer, unadulterated weight of your words struck his massive ego like a high-voltage current. A sudden, terrifying surge of pure, ecstatic triumph flared within his eyes. To have a brilliant woman surrender her entire physical vessel so completely to his intellect and his design was the ultimate validation of his superiority. The raw, mental high of your absolute submission instantly translated into a visceral, aggressive physical reaction: beneath his uniform, his manhood turned rock-hard, throbbing with a sudden, desperate heat that demanded immediate execution. A twisted, deeply satisfied grin spread widely across his face.
"A flawless answer." He hissed breathlessly, his fingers trembling slightly against the hilt with an adrenaline surge of pure arousal. "A highly disciplined response. Let us see how beautifully your body honors that submission."
Before you could move, the central prong of his blade pressed with microscopic, calculated precision against the soft flesh of your inner thigh. It wasn't a deep cut, merely a controlled, superficial prick, a tiny sting of hot reishi that excelled at stripping away your control.
Instantly, a heavy, freezing wave of numbness surged upward from the point of contact, sweeping through your lower limbs, your torso, and down to your fingertips. Your motor pathways completely shut down. Your muscles locked in place, refusing to answer a single command from your brain. You couldn't lift a hand, you couldn't even twitch a toe. Yet, as the paralysis solidified, the raw reality set in: your sensory nerves were wide awake. In fact, without the ability to move, your brain was forced to hyper-focus on every single stimuli, amplifying the feeling of the cold examination table beneath you to an almost agonizing degree.
"Good…" Mayuri whispered, leaning over your locked frame, his eyes scanning your face as he took in your wide pupils. "The motor functions are entirely suppressed, yet the sensory receptors are firing at an accelerated velocity. You are a completely captive subject, Y/N. Entirely under my control." He purred and took the heavy leather straps attached to the sides of the metal table, securing your paralyzed limbs firmly to the metal. Pinned down, fully immobile, the absolute helplessness turned into a suffocating, intoxicating weight of anticipation.
He turned toward a secondary rolling cart filled with complex medical apparatuses, specialized glass probes, and blinking electronic modules. "To simply proceed to the final physical union would be a waste of an optimal baseline environment." Mayuri murmured, his voice a low, gravelly purr of satisfaction. "You have volunteered your body to me, Y/N, and I intend to extract every single byte of data your nervous system can yield in this session."
He glided back to the side of the table, his hands moving with efficient precision. He picked up a series of small, adhesive biometric gadgets: electrodes wired directly to the primary laboratory monitors. One by one, he pressed the cold, suction-cupped nodes against your bare skin: two at your temples, one directly over your racing heart, two more flanking the hardened nipples on your chest, and a final pair affixed to the sensitive inner curves of your thighs. Instantly, the massive console across the room came alive, displaying a series of rapidly fluctuating green and blue wave functions.
He reached for a small, amber glass vial filled with a dark chemical solution. "Experiment phase one: localized transdermal neural acceleration." He poured a few drops of the heavy oil onto his palms, rubbing them together before slamming his hands flat against your bare stomach. A choked gasp caught in your throat. The chemical reactant immediately sank into your pores, triggering a wild, chaotic sensory distortion. Wherever his hands dragged across your torso, it felt as though a current of liquid fire was being poured directly beneath your flesh, followed a millisecond later by a piercing, sub-zero icy freeze. Because you were completely paralyzed, you couldn't twist away or arch your back to escape the overwhelming stimulus. Your mind was forced to sit entirely within the sensation, your chest heaving rapidly. All you could think about was when and where his hand would travel next. You desperately wished for him to move his fingers between your legs, to the pooling frustration that was making you go crazy. Before you could even beg for him to touch you more his fingers wrapped around a sleek, silver scalpel and picked it up from the tray. The polished steel caught the harsh glare of the surgical lamps, reflecting a sharp glint into the overhead mirror.
"Experiment phase two: pain-pleasure threshold calibration." He announced, his voice dropping into a deep, gravelly rasp. He leaned over you, using his left hand to pin the skin of your ribcage taut. With his right hand, he brought the scalpel down, dragging it slowly against your breast. You stifled a moan of pleasure and pain when the blade cut your hard nipple, feeling the hot blood trickling down the swell of your tits. The sharp sting didn't elicit horror… instead, it sent a wave of dark, heavy satisfaction through your hyper-sensitized nerves. You found yourself genuinely liking the intense, grounding pain of it, your eyes gleaming with a twisted pleasure that perfectly mirrored his own unhinged focus. Every precise cut acted as an exquisite anchor against the paralysis, and finally a soft, breathy groan of genuine pleasure escaped your lips, echoing in the quiet room.
“Yes, yes, that’s how it has to be, that’s good, pleasant...” He muttered through clenched teeth. “That’s the reaction I wanted. Maybe you deserve something more.” He teased your nipples for a few more minutes, tracing small circles around them and repeatedly returning to the tips, now painfully hardened until finally, he lowered his head and took one firm bud into his mouth, circling it at length with his tongue before sucking. The metallic taste of your blood filled his lips, he could faintly hear you hissing his name, the arousal too great to focus on anything other than your breast and the taste of your skin and blood. His hand dropped down between his own thighs. He let go of you and took a step back, his dark pupils almost completely absorbed his golden irises, making his eyes even hungrier looking. He gripped his rock-hard dick. It was throbbing violently with an aggressive, desperate heat. Right before your eyes, Mayuri began to stroke himself with a rapid, frantic intensity. He watched the wild want in your eyes in response to the sight, completely intoxicated by his own brilliant dominance and the sheer, raw friction of the moment.
"Look at you." He rasped, his voice dropping into a broken, breathless growl as he continued to stroke himself fiercely, his shaft slick and aching for release. "Completely responsive to every variable I introduce. Your body is entirely addicted to me already."
With a final, heavy stroke, he tore his hand away from himself, barely managing to hold back his own release. He reached down and smoothly slid the padded blindfold over your eyes, plunging you into complete, suffocating darkness. Now you couldn’t even look at him, leaving you feeling even more defanceless. It made the wetness between your thighs unbearable, you were seconds away from begging.
"Your sight is officially offline." His voice echoed, shifting around the table as he stripped away his remaining garments. "Now, your mind has no choice but to focus entirely on my touch, nothing can distract you."
The sensory deprivation turned the dark into a torturous void. Without your sight or the ability to move a single muscle against the heavy leather straps, your skin was entirely at his mercy. Every hyper-sensitized inch of your body was screaming, coiling tighter and tighter around a desperate, heavy ache in your lower belly. Your pussy was weeping, slick with an unspent friction, completely primed for the unyielding weight you hoped was coming.
Finally, a massive, hot pressure aligned itself right against your sensitive opening. Thick and rock-hard, he pressed himself firmly against the wet, aching heat of your entrance. Because of the paralysis, you couldn't even tilt your pelvis to find the grounding weight. You could only lie there, completely captive, feeling the blunt, throbbing head of his cock frictioning slowly against the weeping outer folds. You let out a pathetic moan.
"Ah, ah…" Mayuri reproached softly, his fingers wrapping around your jaw with bruising firmness, his voice a low, teasing rasp right against your ear. "You cannot even twitch to escape me, Y/N, nor will you dictate the velocity of this insertion. Your body belongs strictly to me." The denial was an absolute torture. Your pulse was roaring in the dark, your body screaming for the friction as he held you right on the edge of the precipice, rubbing his dick against your weeping entrance without sliding inside.
"You are drenched." Mayuri observed aloud, his dirty talk running like a hot wire over your skin. "The wetness increased by an additional eighteen percent, and the biometric nodes are recording a near-lethal level of neural tension. Bravo, you’re finally ready." He didn’t even wait for you to understand what he meant. With a sudden, crushing thrust, he slammed his dick entirely into the tight, burning depths of your pussy.
A breathless, choked gasp broke from your lips. The sensation of being stretched entirely open while completely paralyzed was overwhelming, the internal friction magnified a hundredfold by the hyper-active nerves his shikai and chemicals had left behind. Your captain didn't waste a single millisecond of momentum. His hips locked into a rigid rhythm driving his cock deep into you with a heavy, possessive force that made the stainless-steel table vibrate beneath your unmoving shoulders. If getting crushed between his body and the cold, hard surface was painful, you couldn’t feel it anyway. Your mind was completely focused on chasing the high and pleasure, rushing toward a towering peak that had you feeling like spinning in the darkness. Your walls clutched desperately around his length with every involuntary internal spasm, the intense friction sparking a fire that threatened to undo you completely. You felt the rolling wave of a looming climax begin to gather at the base of your spine, your breath breaking into fragmented, desperate hitches.
"I’m so close, Captain... right now..." You gasped out, your voice dropping into an uncharacteristic, trembling plea. But Mayuri merely let out a sharp, mocking click from the back of his throat. He abruptly slowed his thrusts to a cruel, teasing crawl before pulling himself almost entirely out of you, leaving only the very tip to linger at the weeping entrance.
"I didn’t let you. Did I?" Mayuri scolded, his bare fingers moving up to pinch and roll the two hardened nipples with punishing, raw pressure. You hissed. "I thought you’re astute enough to know that I dictate the rules. To climax without my authorization is a failure of your internal discipline, one that I will not tolerate."
He intentionally held you there, starved of the release that was keeping your entire body wound tight like an overdriven spring. Tears began pulling in the corners of your eyes. For agonizing minutes, he played a calculated game of torment: driving deep, heavy strokes into your pussy until you were sobbing out his title, only to freeze completely or pull back the exact microsecond your body reached the absolute edge of the cliff. The paralysis made the denial feel like an absolute physical ache, an overwhelming overload of inputs that had your skin burning and your mind fracturing under the weight of the feral anticipation.
"Look at yourself." Mayuri hissed softly, his hands sliding down to frame your waist, his thumbs pressing deep into your hips. "Completely undone by a basic baseline manipulation. Your cognitive control has been entirely surrendered to me. Admission is required, Y/N. Admit whose methods have completely broken you, your restraint."
"Yours..." You cried out, your voice breaking as you lay helplessly beneath his frame, the infuriating, prolonged edging driving you to the very brink of madness. "It's yours... only you... please, Captain, let me finish… I beg you."
"Good." He hummed, astisified by your desperate praise. With a low, rough growl that tore from the back of his throat, Mayuri abandoned his restraint. He pinned your unmoving hips down with his large hands, his grip clamping onto your waist with a bruising strength as he began drilling himself into you with a frantic, savage velocity. He bottomed out ruthlessly against your deepest walls, over and over, until the sheer, rolling force of his movement obliterated the final barriers of your resistance. Mayuri’s entire frame locked up in a rigid, trembling spasm as a thick, hot torrent of semen erupted violently from his core, flooding the interior of your pussy with his heavy release. The blistering heat of his cum inside you acted as the ultimate catalyst. Despite the paralysis locking your limbs, a massive, crushing wave of an orgasm ripped through you in a sequence of violent, helpless internal contractions that clamped down around his spent length like a vice. You were screaming his name, he hissed profanities into your ear.
The frantic energy in the room slowly began to settle, leaving only the sound of your shared, ragged breathing filtering through the quiet sanctuary. Mayuri rested his heavy forehead against yours for a long, dragging moment, his chest heaving against you.
Slowly, he reached up and took off the blindfold, allowing the bright surgical lights to flood back into your vision. As you blinked through the haze, the numbing effect of his shikai finally began to recede, a warm tingle returning to your limbs. Your eyes immediately locked with his intense gold gaze, the silver reflection of the overhead mirror still hanging directly above you, capturing every raw detail of your thoroughly marked skin and the attached biometric gadgets. He was staring down at you with deep, unhinged satisfaction, his long golden fingernail tracing a slow line down your flushed cheek.
"You did good today." Mayuri murmured, a twisted, triumphant grin spreading as he began to unbuckle the heavy leather straps from your wrists.
"Am I dismissed to my quarters, Captain?" You murmured back, your voice still thick with exhaustion. He let out a sharp, dismissive click from the back of his throat, suddenly gathering you entirely into his arms. He lifted your exhausted body off the cold examination table. His grip was surprisingly firm and secure, bypassing any hesitation as he held you close against his chest.
"Don’t be ridiculous." He rasped, his tone sharpening with his standard arrogance. "You will remain here tonight. In fact, you will be staying in these quarters indefinitely moving forward." He laid you down onto the heavy, dark linens of his bed with a deliberate, uncharacteristic care, pulling the thick covers up to your shoulders to shield your skin from nonexistent draft. You had to fight yourself not to grin at this gesture. "A dynamic, highly volatile laboratory environment requires absolute efficiency. I cannot have my primary operational unit wasting time traversing the barracks corridors when an anomaly arises. I never know precisely when I will require your specific compliance to work on a sudden structural calibration, or when a data set will demand immediate verification. Your constant, immediate proximity is a logistical necessity for the division's homeostasis."
He sat smoothly on the edge of the mattress watching you close your eyes and slowly falling asleep. He would sooner disassemble his own mind than ever admit the truth behind his actions. The brilliant, chaotic labyrinth of his intellect (a mind constantly burning with dangerous theories, endless calculations, and the isolating weight of his own absolute genius) found a rare, grounding anchor only when you were near. It wasn't just that he required your compliance for his data sets… he viscerally needed your presence next to him. He wanted you close, always. "Sleep now, Y/N." He commanded softly, and let himself a moment of tenderness as he laid a featherly kiss on the crown of your head.

"I remember when we danced outside in the first snow, when we laughed beneath the open sky, I remember when u held my hand as we bled, when they broke our bodies and made us put ourselves back together from pieces over and over again, I remember when you closed your eyes and never opened them again, Here under a different sky I shall pray…with our sacred cross in my grip, while my heart is no longer red, Oh lord please show me mercy, I plead that when i reach hell i might find you again to hold your hand in mine, as we walk through fire and pay for our sins." -Tsubasa to Reina

do you have any relationship headcanons on tsubasa and Mayuri they seem really interesting
I do! I dont know if i can write it down in a nice way but I imagine they they are both quite stubborn and don't talk things out a lot so a lot of petty fights lol, I do imagine tsubasa to be more fiesty then mayuri so he is often pissed at her rather then the other way around but they do show they care about eachother or learning to by leaving little gifts at their desk or a little caress on the shoulder or cheek while passing by 😳
