This is a bilingual space for investigation, analysis, education, psychology, science, writing, and the occasional theory that probably should have stayed in the notebook.
¿Por qué existe este blog? / Why does this blog exist?
Because something has started bothering us:
Why does everything seem to be AI now?
A paragraph is too polished. A sentence is too long. The grammar is too good. The grammar is too bad. There are too many commas. There aren't enough commas.
And somehow, somewhere, an AI detector has an opinion.
But an AI detector saying “probably AI” is not the same thing as proving that something was written by AI.
So we're going to investigate.
🔎 What we investigate
Escribimos, observamos, comparamos y ponemos a prueba hipótesis.
We may look at:
AI detectors and their false positives
human writing and the features that get classified as “AI-like”
psychology and cognitive biases
education and how we evaluate writing
language, style, grammar and authorship
experiments involving the same text under different conditions
claims about AI that deserve a closer look
claims about humans that deserve one too
theories, hypotheses and suspicious coincidences
Some posts will be serious.
Some will be educational.
Some will be experiments.
And occasionally, someone will arrive wearing a metaphorical tinfoil hat and propose that Mary Shelley was secretly a language model.
We investigate those too.
🧪 One important rule
A theory is not a fact just because it sounds convincing.
We will try to distinguish between:
Evidence → what we can actually observe. Hypothesis → what might explain it. Speculation → what would be interesting if true. Jokes → please do not cite the moth as a scientific authority.
We are interested in being wrong.
If an experiment contradicts our theory, that is not a failure.
That is data.

Posts will be available in English and Spanish whenever possible.
The languages may not always be perfectly symmetrical, because language itself is one of the things we're interested in.
If something behaves differently when translated, rewritten, shortened, expanded, corrected, or written by a different person...
that is suspicious.

Questions and suggestions may become future investigations.
Just because something sounds ridiculous doesn't mean it isn't worth testing.
And just because something sounds scientific doesn't mean it is true.
