Sanggil’s expression was expectant, waiting patiently for Chanyeol to come to some sort of a decision. His jaw popped ever so slightly as he kept his eyes on the male before him, chin resting on the palm of his hand. “It’s completely up to you, man.” He attempted to say- but it seemed as if the EXO member had a completely different idea. Seems like the conversation was up to the model- which was fine with him. But still he waited and he was patient, his eyes going back and forth between the slightly shorter man before him and the batter in front of them. “Pancakes sounds like an excellent idea.” He responded with a grin, absently sticking his clean pinky finger into the batter to try a small taste. It really did taste good.

“We can do pineapples yeah, my dad and I used to do that back in Hawaii before high school.” He stated with a rather excited smile, heading over towards the pantry and pulling open one of the double doors. Searching around for a moment he eventually pulled out a pineapple, whole of course, and held it in his hand as he used his hip to close the door. Grabbing a cutting board as he went he placed both back down onto the counter, not at all reactive to the spikes from the fruit. Grabbing a knife he began to easily slice down the sides with practiced motions, a smile playing at his full lips. “We could also do plain pancakes and fruit salad as well– pineapples, mangos, and kiwis are my favorite.”

There’s a glint of excitement in his eye as he intently - with his lips formed into a little ‘o’ - watches his hyung suddenly bring out a whole pineapple from one of the cabinets. Of course, it isn’t the first time he’s ever seen the fruit up close; It’s just that he knows he’s about to witness a live demo of how the thing is handled with a knife. To him, that’s exciting. “Waah.. you really know what you’re doing..” Seeming to ignore the mention of different fruits, he drops everything he’s doing and goes on to oh, so childishly bounce his way to get a closer look, standing right across from him with his hands secured on the edge of the counter. Deep down, he’s struggling. He wants to take photos.

“I don’t think any mother would be proud of a daughter who refuses to settle down and get herself out of trouble. My mother… To be blunt, my mother hates me. She wants me to get right but I don’t. I like what I do, even if it means hurting someone. Even if it means putting the fault on others or bossing someone around.” Haeju let out the breath she was holding in unnoticed, the words spewing past her lips rapidly. She could have said it in a kinder tone, but there wasn’t one. She had never heard those words from someone and somehow, it caused her the think back on the relationship she had with her parents, mostly her mother. It was never a good one. Her mother would say otherwise, but Haeju knew. She took it as it was.

The tone of voice in which she spoke, to him, wasn’t completely unfamiliar. To a typical person, each of those words could perhaps be hard to swallow; It’s not really everyday that you get to hear such specific confessions, let alone from a complete stranger. Because of the tinge of disbelief, his initial reaction didn’t fully consist of anything. He just stared with his pair of eyes that couldn’t possibly help but widen so subtly, and blinked a few times as though to get rid of the slight hint of an expression of his face. Nods soon followed, and he lowered his gaze slowly, pondering with pursed, chapped lips. 

Why did he even say such a thing? He could’ve given other sorts of compliments. Well done, this is beautiful, you did  great job -- why did he have to be so specific? The feeling of regret easily settled in his stomach, and after just a few more breaths aghast the silence, he lifted his gaze to offer a small apologetic smile, softly bowing his head with a hushed ‘I’m sorry’. His earlier demeanor had vanished for a brief moment, but he was, as always, easy to bounce back to normal. “I have conflicts with my mother too, sometimes. I’m sorry for.. being too intrusive, aaah, I didn’t mean to.. I don’t know the entirety of.. your relationship with her, but I do hope it eventually gets resolved. Forgiveness, and communication, are important.”

silk: does your muse care about appearances much? do they spend a lot of time on their own appearance, or do they just go with the flow each day?

He cares deeply about his physical appearance (if it isn’t obvious enough). He looks twice, thrice, or maybe four times into a mirror just to check himself out - it’s the same with his reflections on random mirrors when they’re outside. Chanyeol doesn’t miss the opportunity to see how he looks. But, at the same time, when he’s too lazy or tired to do much, he just goes out without makeup on and throws in random clothes. His usual hoodie and jeans. It depends on the mood, really, but he’ll always be conscious about how he looks.
