(15!)Dess & (10!)Kris was walking to the shelter at night (because dess wanted to take them on like some adventure. kid stuff) The 2 enter, and Dess gets taken or some SHIT right before Kris’s eyes. Kris panics starts crying and tries to run out of the shelter. Their wrist gets caught in the closing door and totally breaks/mangles it to a degree, and it takes them a hot minute to break free. Dess brought her Wiffle Bat, so Kris used that to un-jam their wrist and break out. They collapse in front of the shelter as they cry and literally scream their lungs out for help, effectively damaging their vocal chords. Carol, Asgore, Rudy, were out on a search party for Dess and Kris while Toriel watched Asriel and Noelle at the Dreemurr Residence. Carol found Kris and called for the two others. Asgore came and took Kris to the hospital with Rudy in tow. Carol stepped inside the shelter to only find some remaining piece of Dess’s existence (hat, gloves, etc its up for interpretation) and she just can’t do it so she just backs out. Kris heals in the hospital, and in the meantime Carol orders Asgore and the other cops to have a search warrant for Dess. Asgore orders Undyne & Papyrus to search, but specifically Papyrus to check the shelter. Undyne is against this and tries to stop Papyrus, but she fails and Papyrus gets hurt somehow, causing him to well not leave the house. This gets Asgore fired and Divorced. Kris is soon back home and has constant night terrors and horrendous trauma that affects their home life and relationship with Noelle. They visit Noelle’s for comfort sleepovers and to take some of Dess’s items for comfort. Carol makes a call to a….Mysterious Man….and confirms a plan for that in 5 Years, Kris will be inhabited by the SOUL and the rest of the plan essentially works to getting Dess back. Kris can sense the danger within Carol and stops visiting Noelle. Rudy starts to get terminally ill. 5 years pass, and Carol explains the plan to (15!)Kris. They are unable to back out and decide to accept. Two weeks after Carol explains the plan to Kris, The Events of Deltarune start. And that’s my theory/storyline.
