She grinned when he said that she had talent for matching. “You should have seen me in college. Even my phone case and glasses matched sometimes.” She even had a few different Tardis phone cases in different colors. “You say it wouldn’t be much, but with you present is more than enough.” Literally all she ever needed was him present and it felt like she was the luckiest woman in the world to just spending time with him. No matter what they were doing. “But I’d be down for an impromptu picnic. My schedule is clear, I can spend time with you here, and just hang out until you have something you need to do,” she offered. Mercedes hand lifted when his cheeks flushed, to caress his soft skin. “It’s a day that is celebrated by some?” she asked wanting a little bit of elaboration. “One of those days? I mean I’m glad for the just because gift, and I love it. But my curiosity is spiked, especially since I’m getting this adorable stuttery blushing side of you that I don’t normally see. Which is cute, by the way.” Normally she was the nervous wreck, but today most of the time cool as a cucumber, he was not so cool this time around.
Sebastian chuckled and wished he had seen her in college, picturing her to be just as beautiful. “Oh, so you were one of those girls. Matching everything even accessories,” he joked with a shake of his head. “I wish I could have seen college Mercedes. Note to self: ask Lizzie for those photos,” he mused out loud. Even the picture of a younger Mercedes and knowing she was into so-called dorky things made her even more adorable in his mind. Sebastian smiled bigger than he intended to by her comment, causing a blush to color his fair skin. “Heh, aren’t you the sweet talker. I thought that was my job, Angel. Please stick to the script,” he said before placing a quick kiss on her lips. When he pulled away, Sebastian shrugged. “It’s really up to you, beautiful. If you’re hungry, I’ll be happy to run down and get you something. We can relax here too. I’ve done my rounds and unless something urgent happens and the bells are ringing, this is me until morning light – paperwork and maybe research,” he explained as he nodded towards the files scattered along his desk. When her soft hand famed his cheeks, he naturally leaned towards one side and nuzzled it between his cheek and shoulder. He internally groaned when Mercedes’ tone indicated she wanted elaboration, even though he knew she was going to. “Yeah, but some… those who know the day and stuff. Obviously not much a national holiday, heh,” he said trying to not disclose the title of the day. “Me? Stuttery? W-when.. what? No,” Sebastian stammered and tried to play it off, but damn the woman for making him lose some of his cool in the most inopportune moments. “I’m cool… like the other side of the pillow,” he said as he mentally stomped himself for the corny retort.
