I don’t usually tell people what to do, particularly how to act at a cons, but FFs.
These guys are not your therapist!
Stop dumping your shit on Jared and/or Jensen. Stop telling them your life story during a panel (or M&G). Stop getting weirdly personal and trying to continue a conversation with them past them answering your question. Stop trauma dumping. Just ask your fucking question and sit down.
I’m so sick of this shit. First, it’s got to be so uncomfortable and awkward for J2 to stand there listening, and then trying to come up with something placating to say to a stranger. Second, it’s uncomfortable for the rest of the audience who also don’t know you, and they don’t need or want your intimate details of your life. Finally, you’re being rude and taking away other people’s opportunities to ask questions as well when you drone on forever. You’re also bringing down the mood.
If you feel the need to thank them, write them a letter and give it during autos. If you don’t have autos and get picked to ask a question, keep it brief for the love of God. Example: “I’ve gone through a lot of tough stuff over the last x-amount of years, and watching SPN and you 2 have really helped me through it.” That’s enough. That’s pleamtly! And this way you aren’t making everyone uncomfortable with your over sharing, or giving J2 heavy shit to think about while they are just trying to do their jobs.

Absolutely 1000% agree with this person. This is disgusting how people trauma dump on them especially when you are now given the opportunity with creation and many other convention companies to be able to write notes or letters to the actors that they can read at home when they can hug their wives play with their kids or snuggle their dog
