Like we have commodified human connection to a degree where if you go beyond smalltalk you're oversharing and if you talk too deeply about your life you're traumadumping and if you get visibly upset you're manipulative and if you care too much you're codependent and if you want to talk about anything heavy you're expected to go hire a therapist because your friends shouldn't have to deal with that stuff and yet we're all sitting around wondering why so many people are lonely...

I wish people treated queerness as breaking the rules of the dominant cis-hetero patriarchy so you can authentically be yourself. Instead of adhering to a new slightly less restrictive set of rules which you will deride other people for not following (basically whatever label discourse is now flaring up)

i’ll never get over what a funny dynamic faberry has in canon. like yes here are two girls who on the surface are narrative foils and enemies but upon closer inspection are actually incredibly similar to each other, especially when it comes to their mutual desire to escape their hometown. they hate each other’s guts and one of the girls will have the weirdest bullying habits known to man. they will preform a musical duet while longingly staring at each other the entire time. they will have a scene together on prom night that directly parallels the two other canon queer couples on the show, and during this scene one of the girls will call the other the prettiest girl she’s ever seen. one of them will protest the other’s wedding and insist that they are meant for great things in life and therefore they can’t tie themselves down by marrying someone at 18, while the bride to be refuses to go through with the marriage without the other girl there. they are both heterosexual though and are going to end up with men at the end of the show

i saw the tv glow is awesome bc its terrifying in a transgender "if i keep pushing this down and down and down i will be slowly letting myself die" way but also its even just scary as "a man in the moon traps you in a dimension out of time built to psychologically torture you with suburbia"
