Lavinia smiled a little at the praise, always happy to have Heiâs approval. For now, she resisted going into too much detail about where Heiâs little shinies had come from, simply saying. âI just hope their owners donât realize who was around when their things go missing.â They still had their cover to be concerned about. But the niffler was more important at the moment.
Lavinia cooed at the little niffler as it got closer. âThatâs it Guem. Come on and get your little treats. Weâve got more on the ship we can give you, just come on home with us.â She made eye contact with Hei as the niffler came into grabbing distance, as if signaling that now was the time.
Hei rolled her eyes at Lavinia. âThey never even saw me admiring them.â She had been careful enough, her deft fingers slipping into places that they didnât belong. No one moved like she did, so while she might not make herself invisible through magic, she could still move like a ghost.Â
As soon as Lavinia made eye contact, Hei used those moves, darting forward and sliding across the ground. Her fingers wrapped around the wriggling niffler as she laughed. âNo no, little one.â She cooed, kissing Geum lightly on the top of her head. âThere we go. All safe and sound. Come on, lets get you tucked away before anyone knows youâre here.âÂ
