Lucinda was more than confident in her own abilities as a spellcaster. Her mother was a talented witch and had taught Lucinda without reserve. Unfortunately that attitude meant she rarely acknowledged her own limits. And so, after being told that it would be far too difficult to turn an ordinary broom into a flying one she took the challenge in hand. The leviosa charm wasn't quite right for the task, she would need to try another. After searching the library she found a manuscript on Quidditch that mentioned the charms used in constructing a broom. She found an empty classroom and began to experiment.
On her first attempt nothing happened. After carefully stripping down and reapplying her charms she managed to get it to hover. Within moments Lucinda was flying and all seemed well. Unfortunately she hadn't considered a delayed failure and while flying against a vaulted ceiling she fell out of the air. Her spells had flickered.
As she fell to earth, she barely had time to scream. She was sure she'd break a leg on the hard stone floor when too large arms caught her. She looked up to see a massive but attractive man had caught her just in time. "Goodness!" She said, startled, "However can I thank you?"
