they dont really have a secret code for this. they would just say something along the lines of "i need you to love me a little bit loudly today" and the other would just understand.

when its eddie who feels like that, steve becomes more touchy. he touches eddie more than necessary, be it in front of the kids or when eddie visits steve at work in front of so many customers. steve is always in eddie's sight (sitting just to the side when a campaign is ongoing) assuring eddie that he's always there. steve wears eddie's leather jackets or denim vests (it's so outside steve's clothing style but seeing eddie's soft look trained towards him is a reward). steve gives eddie pecks and kisses whenever he can, on eddie's cheeks or hands or forehead. anywhere steve's lips could reach whenever they're close and alone.

when its steve who feels like that, eddie also becomes more touchy, both in private or public. a hand always stays in steve's back or arm. a little ruffle on the hair or a pinch on the cheek. eddie also doesnt hold back any compliments or praises about steve no matter who can hear. whether some other student would hear eddie praise steve a tad too much for being early in fetching the kids or not, eddie doesnt care. the faint blush on steve's cheeks is worth it.
