This might get me some hate but I feel like it needs to be said so people can maybe stop saying this.
PEOPLE WHO SAY THAT PROM QUEEN MISSES THE POINT OF FEAR STREET CLEARLY DON‘T KNOW A LOT ABOUT THIS SERIES
That’s not a bad thing. You aren’t required to be an expert on a series to enjoy or have opinions on it, but it does mean that something those generalizations are wrong.
Prom Queen hits the exact tone that basically all the 158 books in the series have, and it really does feel like a Fear Street book come to life. It definitely has a lot of the worse parts of Fear Street on full display (compared to how most of the books are way better), but it fits right in tonally.
Also, people who go on about how Prom Queen misses the point of Fear Street are definitely ignoring (or don’t know) how the movie trilogy took a story about how judging people/making assumptions based on their family is bad and turned into a story about an evil family full of only evil people who did evil things.
But sure, Prom Queen misses the point.
