He then put his hand upto stop her “Don’t say anything, don’t even thank you just enjoy it. That’s all I want you to so enjoy tonight for yourself.” He smiled and moved to pick up one of the roses to put in her hair.

Jesse wasn’t even sure on what to say. The mere fact that he noticed her eyeballing the dress for a while, going out of his way to get it and roses, as well as even getting the whole gang to go to this dance. Was she blushing a bit? Maybe. Hell, if she’d allowed herself to do it, she’d cry.

“Well, I thought since I’m taking you to a dance tonight I should be a proper gentlemen about things… I also got you this.” He moved to get an almost rectangular box off of Raven and offered it to Jesse. “I remembered you told me you’ve never had a proper one before so I thought a lady deserves to be able to dress up like a lady. Especially when she’s attending a town dance, open it. Go on I don’t have all day now.” He did to be honest he was just too excited to see her reaction to it.

Inside the box was a beautiful red and black dress that looked rather expensive and a matching pair of black heels. A small little note inside read ‘A gift for a lovely lady - Gabriel.’ The first time Jesse had heard his first name used.

The town dance? Since when did he hear about that? Sure, she heard talk about it around town when she was picking up supplies for the camp, but she never expected them to go to it. Her eyes suspiciously gazed towards the box that he offered her and she set the roses down, opening up with a gasp.

Had he known that she’d been looking at this dress for a while?

Jack looked as soon as he heard the others first words, he had been right before it was a stupid thing to ask and he knew once again he’d been dreaming. “I-I it is. I just, I hoped maybe one day after everyin’ that I might…” He then stopped himself and looked down he was clearly upset and wasn’t sure what to say next. He didn’t want to upset Arthur or make this situation already worse, Jack wanted to stay with Arthur but his parents had been sending him letters asking if he was wed yet.

     “ You figure out a way for us to get married, and I’ll do it, gladly. I love you, and I would be happy to be married to you. But I know it won’t be easy. ” He murmurs.
