If you want to read an academic article that's behind a paywall just email the author and ask politely if they will send you the article. Most academics will be thrilled that you want to read their work and will gladly send it to you.

Sometimes I forget that people can only meet you as far as they have met with themselves. If someone is being unkind, they struggle with being kind with themselves. If someone is being closed off, it is because they are having trouble connecting with themselves. Being aware of this reminds me to be patient with myself and others. In order to nurture others in a healthy manner, we must first be able to do that for ourselves.
