They paid for him to go to medical school and get his medical license, but he was still obsessed with boxing so he decided to become a ringside physician instead.
With boxers like Glass Joe, who would get very injured during fights, Aran Ryan, who messes with everyone, Bald Bull, who has anger issues, and both Bear Hugger and Soda Popinski drinking substances that have made them throw up in the ring before, many were unwilling to stick around and put up with them. It’s why Nate got the job pretty easily.

Despite the circumstances, these two still don’t get along very well. It’s probably because they have this one thing in common. They’re both like flies buzzing in your ear, though they always insist the other is worse.
RED Scout:
Before being knocked out by Merasmus, he felt a sharp pain in his throat.
He wasn’t too far from where Miss Pauling found Demoman. When she approached him, she noticed how he refused to speak, which felt out of character. When she finally managed to get him to say something, something began to flood from his mouth. Tiny, multi-legged creatures that made him choke on every word. He closed his mouth, refusing to open it again.
Curse: The Nest
Every word he speaks is followed by dozens of little insects. Merasmusk’ magic has made his throat a nest. He’s fine if he keeps his mouth closed, but he sometimes feel things scratching at his throat.
BLU Scout:
Miss Pauling found the BLU Scout after finding a few of the others. Well, Scout found them. Mistaking them for robots, her bat proceeded to bash into the back of the RED Sniper’s head. After realizing it was her fellow human…she did not feel sorry in the slightest, actually. Nonetheless, she joined them without hesitance. Being alone for too long would’ve been her death as the whirring sound of approaching robots could be heard.
