you shifted in your seat uncomfortably. scaramouche was still staring at you from his seat to your far right. you acted like you were still texting your friends, glancing over every once in a while to see if he was still staring. your name was called by the barista, but his was called right after yours.

you grabbed two napkins before grabbing your coffee. the bell from the door rings. you glance over, and it's xiao. you let out a relieved sigh and walk over to him.

"xiao! am i happy to see you?" he was staring at Scaramouche, who was now texting someone, you guess.

"ready to go?" he asks you, glancing at how you have all your stuff. you nod and he opens the door for you, signaling for you to go through first.

the two of you start walking towards the school. scaramouche a bit further behind the two of you, obviously walking in the same direction. xiao was on his phone texting you peeked over it was a group chat. he quickly covered his phone.

"what?" he looked at you while raising an eyebrow.

"nothing. just curious who you were texting." you ask shrugging and taking a sip of your drink.

"i was texting my friends, so don't worry about it." you just nodded along as the two of you arrived at the school gates. the three girls waiting there for you two.

"finally, you guys are slow" hu tao complains already clinging to xiangling.

"i was waiting for my drink and xiao had barely arrived to the cafe" you reply taking another sip.

"excuses excuses" hu tao waves you off like she was swatting a fly.

"you guys wanna hang out after school i just thought of a new recipe i want you guys to try!" xiangling asked excitedly

"if nothing comes up sure!" lumine replied with the same amount of excitment.

"can't im hanging out with my other friends" xiao said following the four of you into the school

"so you hate us" you tease he just sighs and shakes his head

the five of you go your seperate ways once the first bell rings. you were now walking to your first period class. you waved to a few people you passed by. you, yourself don't even know how this happened, it was only your 3rd week at this school.

you finally make it to your first class, but what you notice is that scaramouche follows in right after you. 'he's in this class?! oh im so cooked' you think, internally panicking you decided to just find an empty seat and calm down.
