🩹Avoid using tampons if possible and use pads instead. Just in case you regress and forget to change your tampon. You don’t want to make yourself poorly. Maybe set timers on your phone to remind you to change your pad/tampon.

🩹Make sure you drink plenty of water.

🩹Make sure you eat 3 meals a day! It’s perfectly normal to eat more than you usually do on your period.

🩹Avoid coffee, energy drinks, spicy foods and eating a lot of salt while on your period.

🩹Use heat packs/hot water bottle (Microwavable heat teddies are great) for cramps and aches.

🩹If you are in great pain, take some tablets/medicine. If you have a caregiver or a friend you can trust, ask them to assist you in ensuring you take the correct medicine and dosage. Write down the time you take the meds, so you know when it’s safe to take another dosage! Or set a timer when it’s safe to take another dosage.

🩹Warm baths are great, they are both fun and help with cramps! You can use a both bomb or have bubbles. You can also play with bath toys while regressed.

🩹Wear loose fitted and comfy clothes, so you can be super comfy and cosy.

🩹Surround yourself with things that make you happy and comfort items. (Stuffies, paci, sippy cups, blanky…)

🩹If you feel comfortable enough, try doing some light exercise. It will help with cramps and aches.

🩹Take naps if necessary, your period causes fatigue, its normal to need to rest.

🩹Watch your favourite tv shows and films so you can relax.
