you sighed and made your way back to the models that you left off with. you saw minji in the distance and wanted to cower. this was killing you.

and so it was decided. you didn't know if it was the god's hearing your wails, but when you told yourself that you were going to talk to minji after this, coincidentally it was only you two left in the room after everyone packed up. jungwon told you he'd wait downstairs at his locker, so you didn't worry about him.

as you were taking last minute look-backs at the photos you took, you could see minji rushing to get the room cleaned. she was sweeping pieces of fabric and other things that were scattered on the floor before moving on to pick up equipment that was brought in for this specific occasion.

you thought to yourself, "she sure is reliable, huh?"

then you wondered what her role was in the student council for her to be this responsible over everything. she seemed like a very hard worker and a lot of the students around the school respected her.

she was busy doing her thing. so much to the point that you could see a drop of sweat travelling down her forehead. you pulled out your phone and opened up twitter and then instagram.

while stalking her socmeds, you come across a quoted retweet from her birthday. her friend calling her student body president… and then it just started repeating in your head.

student body president??

all of a sudden the student body president was now calling your name. "hey, y/n. are you almost done with what you're doing?"

minji was looking at you while putting the broom against the wall where it belonged. "if you need the room for longer, then i can give you the key. just make sure to lock the door and give the keys to the teacher room."

you stood up, putting whatever she said aside. "um... i just want to get this off my chest." you began. she only sent you a look that almost seemed like she knew all too well what this conversation was going to be about, yet was afraid it was happening.

nonetheless, you continued. "i hope there's nothing awkward between us because i ignored your messages..." your eyes drifted to the side as you thought of what to say. "i was just really surprised that you messaged me. i didn't know what to say, so... i ended up leaving you on seen..." you admitted.

she looked back at you for a brief second before bursting into a fit of laughter, clutching her stomach. her curled index finger made its way to her eye to wipe the formed tear away. "oh jeez yn." she laughed again. "you really are cute. i can see why jungwon-" she paused with her eyes stretched out. they could almost fall out with such an expression

though, you already had an idea on what she may have said, you were more focused on her reaction. "w-what? why is that funny?" you asked nervously. your hands were found gripping the sides of your skirt as if it'd ease your tensed self.

"nothing." she smiled, calming down. "i could tell that you felt bad about something. your working habits were different from usual, and you were acting weird. i didn't want to approach you today because i thought things would worsen, but i did assume a few times that it was because of last night. look, i misunderstood and i really didn't mean for any of this to happen, but i also wasn't acting cold solely for that reason." she smiled softly.

your mouth was dry and you weren't even doing the talking. "then why?"

she expected you to ask that. she was waiting for it, even. but even so, she planned to not answer it. this would make it a lot more effective, whatever she had in mind. "it's a secret." she grinned. her eyes stayed on yours as she reached for the keys in her skirt pocket. she then tossed it to you without you expecting it. thankfully, you caught it. "i'll be heading out. again, lock the door and shut the lights. don't forget to return it to the teacher's room!" her voice got louder the farther she got.

you stared at the direction of the class sliding door where she just exited from. you were dumbfounded, looking at the keys stupidly. now you were confused. what the hell was that all about?

minji sure was a mystery. as much as you had an image built in your head of what kind of person minji was, you still had a feeling much stronger telling you that she was someone entirely different. it pulled you in. what kind of person was she? because as much as your friends tried to convince you that she had some sort of evil in her, you couldn't help but feel like there was a deeper meaning behind it. like she had a reason to do all the things that people say she's done.

stalling around like this as your mind went on and on about minji wasn't gonna do you any good. you decided to start packing up your camera, putting it carefully into its case as you got ready to leave the room as well. you made sure to lock the door and return the keys to the teacher's room. it took you about what felt like 30 minutes finding it before you made your way downstairs.

amongst the deafening silence of the school, you could hear distant chatter coming from the area you were walking towards. the voices began to get more and more familiar with each step you took.

it was very faint, but you could hear laughs coming from who you assumed was jungwon. and then, you could hear a stressed out minji.

you couldn’t help but try and ignore that stirring feeling in your stomach. this almost felt like you were about to interrupt something, so you stopped your tracks, hesitation eating you up inside.

“haha.. i told you so..! that’s why you shouldn’t worry so much about her. i really didn’t expect that text from you..” the voice of jungwon caught your attention before you focused on the sound of what seemed like him patting her shoulder. your heart began to pound a lot more, so your hand snaked its way slowly to grip on the fabric across your chest.

minji let out a scoff, and it made you feel uneasy how close they seemed when they were alone together. you were right against the wall that had a turn right towards the hallways where jungwon’s locker was located. it really didn’t matter, but your actions said otherwise, because if you didn’t care then it wouldn’t be a problem to just show yourself.

jungwon spoke again. this time, you could feel your heart almost drop.

“it’s kind of sweet. you’re perfect, aren’t you? that’s probably why you reacted that way. she’s not a scary person… in some ways she can be, but—“

that was enough. you thought it’d end with him calling minji perfect, but he just had to go on and start talking about you. it felt shitty, especially coming from him. you stepped out quickly, your presence making an abrupt appearance as they both turn their heads at you.

jungwon in particular looks surprised before a small smile forms on his face, “hey y/n..! we were just—“

“i’m gonna go.” minji says, glancing at jungwon then at you before her face slightly goes red. she rushes to the direction of the school doors while you both watch her hastily walking away. jungwon looks confused as you avert your irritated gaze at him.

“i’m going too.” you grumble, and he almost panics, walking towards you with a raised brow.

“going where? we had plans. i told you i’d treat you...” he said in a slightly desperate tone, trying to make eye contact with you as you look anywhere else but him.

your change in attitude scared him, causing him to wonder what was wrong. did he do something to upset you? he couldn’t quite put a finger on it since you guys seemed just fine earlier.

“i was trying to decline your offer earlier, but you ignored me.” you answer back, eventually speeding up your steps while he tries to keep up.

“y/n. don’t be like that..!” he lets out a frustrated sigh, “if money’s the issue then just—”

“don’t worry about me, jungwon. you shouldn’t anyway, right?” you quickly stop just to say that to his face. there was an obvious tone of betrayal you had in your laced into your words.

he still looked confused as ever before he slowly began to process what you were upset about. worry filled his eyes when he saw your angered expression, breathing heavily as he parted his lips. before he could even speak, you only beat him to it.

“…perfect..?” you murmur under your brwath before huffing once again, “wh..why don’t you just find a perfect photographer for your stupid photoshoots instead..?!”

jungwon looks at you, surprised by how agitated you seemed. was that what you intended to say..? he couldn’t read you and it was slowly driving him insane. the look on his eyes made it clear to you that he couldn’t say anything more to that, and if he did, it would only cause you embarrassment.

this triggered your fight or flight response, and you were absolutely not going to to fight this right now. you already said some really random shit and there was no way you could take that back, so you just quickly walked away, praying he wouldn’t follow you.

heat immediately travelled up to your cheeks, making you beet-red as you argued with tourself, wondering why the hell you would say something like that?

“perfect photographer? what the fuck am i talking about..?!” you asked yourself like you wanted to die. yes. you definitely wanted to die.

“i can’t come back after saying that… there’s no way.”

this would haunt you for the rest of the night. sleep couldn’t even prevent you from thinking about it, knowing damn well it wasn’t enough time to recover.…

that reminds you, jungwon’s a close friend of minji’s. you shiver at the thought, but this was an opportunity to ask. “hey, jungwon. is minji gonna be here soon..?”

he tilted his head and raised a brow, “you’re looking for minji?” he asks, surprised.

truth is, he’s had an idea that maybe you had some sort of jealousy towards her from all the tweets on your private account. although, that wasn’t the case at all.

you nod your head, leaving him with a grin on his face. “did something happen between you two?” he asked.

“sorta.”

just as you were about to elaborate, minji walked through the doors and smiled at everyone who met eyes with her. when her eyes landed on you, she couldn’t help but look away almost immediately.

that was strange, you thought.

jungwon noticed it as well. he grinned before nudging you. “wow. you really got ignored by 'the' miss kim minji.” he teased. you just glared.

“shut up. you really know how to make a girl feel better, huh?” you say sarcastically before walking away from him.

he stares at you while feeling a sense of guilt. you sounded serious about this whole situation, and he was taking it lightly.

the photo shoot felt a lot longer than you thought. maybe it was just today. minji helped you, but you could tell it was because she was obligated to do so, not because she willingly wanted to help you.

things were awkward between you two and you couldn’t find the time to talk about it.

when you were taking pictures of wonyoung, your head was so in the clouds that all the pictures turned out terrible-that might be an exaggeration, but they were worse than before.

wonyoung looked at you with concern, “are you okay? why aren’t the pictures turning out the way they usually do?” she teased you lightheartedly.

you felt a bit stressed. “sorry. this is the worst. none of them are good.” you say while revisiting the pictures you took earlier. “maybe i shouldn’t be the one doing this job.”

“hey!” wonyoung slaps you in the back, “don’t doubt yourself. you’re probably just worried over something. try and focus today and we wont have to do it again tomorrow. keep a good mindset! but hey, maybe you should try and take a walk to clear your head or something. how does that sound?”

you look at wonyoung with a small smile. “yeah, your right. thanks wony.” you say with complete sincerity. that was the most comfort you received compared to the rest of the student council who attempted reassuring you.

you walk up to one of the student council members to let them know you’re taking a break. meanwhile, jungwon watches you make your way out. he quickly followed you.

“hey! yn!” he caught up to you as you turned around to look at him.

you rolled your eyes, pretending to shiver, “wow, that’s so crazy. it’s like i feel a presence beside me.” you hug your arms just to be dramatic.

he pouted, pulling on a strand of your hair. “crazy… did that presence just pull your hair too?” he teased you lightheartedly.

you finally stopped and turned to him. “what?” your expression was as if he was a bother.

jungwon's playful look on his face soon turned into a serious one, almost as if he felt bad. "okay, well. i was just wondering if you wanted to go somewhere after this?" he grinned.

your eyes softened at his attempt of making you feel better. you could tell that was his initial game plan the moment he followed you out the hall.

"i don't know, wonie..." you sighed. "today was tiring. i think i'll pass. maybe tomorrow?"

after a short silence, you looked up only to notice his eyes widened. "wait, what?" he asked.

the shock in his face made you confused. "what?" you repeated after him.

"no. you "what." you just called me wonie!" now he was smiling ear to ear with a finger pointed at you as if it was something to be proud about.

you didn't even realize you called him by that nickname. heck, you never called him that. so why did it slip out of your mouth like water?

heat rushed to your face and soon enough you were covering your lips with your two hands. probably to keep yourself from saying anything worse.

"no i didn't." you denied. it was already too late. why were you still trying to save yourself?

he chuckled aloud before aggressively putting his arm on your shoulder to drag you with him along the hallway. "you definitely did. i'll let it slide if you come hang out with me, hm?"

you still resisted, pulling yourself away from him. how embarrassing.

he noticed your reluctance before sighing. "i'll treat you to something good."

and now you are contemplating it. straight up rejecting jungwon is one thing, but now you were trying so hard to push him away. was it just cause of pure embarrassment? or because of the whole situation with minji? you couldn't tell.

his face was full of hope, so you finally gave in. when he said he'd act like your boyfriend, he wasn't joking whatsoever.

because this... this wasn't the jungwon you used to tease with every chance you got. now it felt like it was your cheeks that were getting red instead of his.

it was going to take a while for you to get used to this. you both knew that.

—a/n: i'm back from the dead!! i think...?

i scoff at him. he’s so dramatic istg. “im pretty sure today is the only time we’re going to be in that room after school.” i enunciate the after. “plus, after that it’ll be during school hours. aka, working-on-the-festival hours.” i shrug.

“that’s even worse!” sunoo cries.

eunchae links her arm around sunoo, “stop. you’re really only mad because you wont see jungwon and yn flirting w each other. also because you’re jealous that yn will be seeing wonyoung in third period instead of you.”

sunoo looks at eunchae with a sour look. he knows she’s right. “whatever.”

you laugh at the both of them, “alright. i really have to go now. have fun you guys.”

sunoo and eunchae turn to you with a disappointed look before nodding, “bye.”

you smile, leaving first after giving them a small wave.

once you leave that classroom, anxiety builds up. your heart is now racing. you already know jungwon may or may not be one of the models, but even so, working with him will be hard on its own.

sitting next to him is even worse. it never felt that way. you don’t even know for how long you’re going to repeat that. just get it in your head already. something’s changed.

as you made your way through the hallways to get to the student council room, you were stopped by minji who appeared midway.

“yn! is it?”

you nod your head. she’s ecstatic. “you’re going to take pictures today, right?”

you nod your head again, but with hesitation. “um… i think so?”

“don’t worry. we’ll tell you more about it. come with me!” she nudges her head to the side before leading the way.

you can’t deny that you were the only one making the conversation awkward. i mean, how could you not? it’s minji you’re talking to.

you’ve talked to her before, but the barrier and distance between you two was just uncomfortable...

also, the relations she’s got with jungwon was something you couldn’t pry into, but that didn’t change the fact that it sort of bothered you.

the more interactions you have with minji, the more you realize how complete opposites you are. she’s got her head up high all the time. she’s apart of stuco and she’s completely capable of herself. standing next to her felt humiliating on its own.

when the both of you enter the student council room, the rest of the student council member’s heads turn to you.

you feel nervous. you look around the room before your eyes land on wonyoung. the models are already here it seems.

she’s smiling at you, and so you smile back. you feel a sense of relief. that’s when she points in a way that he can’t see. she’s telling you to look at jungwon, who was farther next to her, unbuttoning one of the buttons on his shirt.

you look at him, and jesus christ.

without a doubt, you know he’s one of the models. you can’t tell whether you want somebody to end you right now, or if you’re just dying because of how attractive he looks.

his hair is styled and he’s put in clothes that you’d never see him wearing. what the fuck? since when did your school have this much money to afford clothes like that?

you gulp. looking at him with such different attire compared to his school uniform and his boring hoodie-sweatpant combo was just a shock. you couldn’t even tell if it was really him you were looking at.

you shook your thoughts away, bringing a hand up to your cheek to feel the raise in temperature from it. you look at wonyoung instead. she’s pretty. like always. when you saw her giggling at your flushed expression, it brought you comfort knowing that at least someone in this room knew how you were feeling.

suddenly, you felt a soft tap on your shoulder. right, minji. you forgot she was there.

she brought her palm out towards the people in the room, “how about you introduce yourself?” she suggests. you nod with a hint of hesitance.

everyone’s looking at you. all these unfamiliar faces staring at you like daggers into your skin. at least that’s what it feels like. why are you even doing this?

“…hello, i’m yn.” you quickly say. you turn to minji in hopes of her helping you out.

“yn is going to be the photographer for you guys from her on.” minji smiles at the student-models. she’s confident in what she does. she then turned to the members of student council, including jungwon. “i’m sure you were all expecting her.”

in return, you were given a warm welcome. that included hi’s and hello’s with a mixture of enthusiastic claps and bows.

the photo taking wasn’t bad either. people of stuco would direct you and tell you how they’d like the picture to be taken, in which you’d follow. they all turned out to well and to their satisfaction.

while looking back at some of the pictures you took for a year 1 student-model, you felt a sudden weight on your shoulder.

“it turned out nice.” jungwon says. you can feel his breath, and the way his voice was so close to your ear made you feel shivers. then you realized his chin was resting on your shoulder, but you didn’t move.

“mm, yeah.” you quietly reply. you notice how awkward that was. “i mean, of course. it’s the, one and only yn taking the pictures.” you say with immediate regret after.

now he’s parted away from his original position. you couldn’t tell whether you were relieved, or disappointed. he laughed at your comment, “well keep it up.” he smirks, “‘cause i’m next.”

that killed you. the smirk and his attire combined killed you more. when you realized you had to live your worst nightmare, you mentally panicked. he didn’t really interact with you at all that entire time, so it’d have to take a little getting-used-to to begin taking pictures of him.

to your surprise, it wasn’t as bad as you thought it’d be. it was like being able to stare at him without any shame. being given a pass to look at him as much as you want was more like it.

he looked good. very photogenic. he’d probably be second after wonyoung if you had to rank them.

that afternoon, it became a habit to glance over at him whenever you got the chance. looking at him now felt like he could disappear at any moment. it wasn’t like watching over a kid in case they’d do something dangerous.

it was more like trying to catch a shooting star while stargazing. same thing as trying to catch a glimpse of him making a cute expression, or when he runs his hand through his hair for a second.

these things felt like you could miss them at any moment, but why didn’t you want to miss it?

when did jungwon doing absolutely anything become so important to you?

it was a never ending question that felt like you couldn’t find an answer to no matter what.

JUNGWON is the type to feel the need to do SOMETHING. he always needs to be occupied, whether it’s with his work, or with the people around him. the people around him would just so happen to be you (of course). if you’re working on something and he’s got nothing left to do, he’ll bug you just to get your attention. it goes from tugging at your clothes, or laughing at your funky handwriting. he just needs to do something.

JUNGWON is also the type to whisper in your ear when something funny happens. if the teacher mispronounces something, or slips up, he’ll be the first to make a joke about it. he would never say it out loud. just to you, as he finds your laughter most amusing.

JUNGWON’s the type to get hungry during class. when that happens, he’ll go to the vending machines during break times. he never forgets to ask you, “do you want something?” or even bring you along. the same goes for when he pulls out a snack from his bag during lessons. he’ll always split it in half and give the other half to you.

JUNGWON isn’t the type who’s used to loud noises. loud yelling and talking all at once can get him in a sour mood, so when he sees you pulling out your earphones, he’s always the first to ask you for one. also because he likes to know what type of music you’re listening to, AND because he just likes sharing things with you ^^
