As always, I would suggest that when voting for who to Charge that you think about which player you want to see again in the future, in some capacity.

The last short circuit is upon us! For the final one, we elected to have a primary and secondary theme, blending two ideas together. The winners were "Oops, All Birds!" as the primary theme and "Children's TV Show" as the secondary theme.

Rough lore so far is that there was a bird-centric children's tv show that got pulled into Blaseball due to some sort of error. Players were transformed into actual birds in the process. Some of the players may be characters on the show, others may be crew who worked on the show.

Short Circuit Theme

Oops! All Birds wins the top spot for Short Circuit theme! Coming in second is Children’s tv show! Results from the react poll also say we should combine the top two themes. So, come to the Rogue's Gallery to discuss what Oops All Birds Children's TV Show means! Short Circuit starts Monday, the 24th, so we have a whole week to create something fun!

The Thieves Cant

The keepers have allowed us to have a 5th channel specifically for announcements! We wanted to get it started now, but there’s still a lot we can discuss and change later if we want to. For now, here are the details:

The channel is reps only for now. The alternative is for everyone to have access but on a 6 hour slow mode. Even with this, we were worried that there may be some conversation that happens accidentally. If this is unpopular we can absolutely change it!

If you have something to announce, let a rep know! We’d be happy to post here on your behalf if the channel remains rep only.

The name can also be changed. Thieves Cant is a language used to pass secret messages between those who can decipher it, so we thought it was fitting. - if you want to stay up to date on things, we recommend turning notifications on for this channel! It won't alert you on mobile due to the size of the server, but if you’re in discord a notification will pop up when we post in here. We promise not to post needlessly in this channel.

Short Circuit Theme Poll

It is nearly time for the last Short Circuit to start! Please use the link in the Thieves Cant to rank which themes you like best. The winning theme will be used as we create player lore once the names are revealed.

As another possible spin, we could use the top TWO winning themes. (Example: they are all birds AND it is a kids tv show; it takes place in Stu's alt universe AND it is in space). If you dig that idea, there is a react poll in the Thieves Cant (same post as the poll link)!

Vote for New Reps

Poll for new Reps is still open until midnight EST on Saturday, the 15th.

The group of Maincord Reps has gotten smaller, and we would like to add more before blaseball returns! Because of this, ranked-choice isn't necessary, and we put an option to vote them all in, if that's what people want!

If there is anyone on this ballot (or currently acting as a representative) that you have concerns about being a representative, please reach out to the Maincord Keepers via modmail (at the top of the members list) so that they can look into the situation.

The Google form voting ballot can be found in the pins in the Thieves Guild. The election will be open until Saturday January 15th midnight EST and new representatives will take their positions on Sunday January 16.

Do Choux Remember?

Missing Blaseball and want to reminisce your favorite moments? Newer to Blaseball and want to learn more history? Choux Stadium has been temporarily renamed "Do Choux Remember" to be a gathering place to discuss days gone by. Share your favorite memories, old propaganda, art!

Circuits

All three circuits add additional blaseball and in that additional blaseball Enhanced Party Time (the ability to gain stars randomly) will be in effect. Vote for the one you think will be the most fun to watch next Short Circuits (which won't be occurring immediately). They all seem good to me!

Charge

Vote for the player you most want to see return to play blaseball again, for whatever reasons you use to make that determination. If you don't have an immediate standout player you like and want to see return, I would suggest Guinevere Strong, the bearer of the snow shoes and a powerful base stealing threat, or Coyote Cooper, our best pitcher this season and one of the best natural batting rolls ever seen.

We are looking to add onto the Rep team! We primarily need more assistance updating and maintaining the wiki, but need help in other areas as well. No experience or specific time commitment is required!

Please nominate up to four people who you feel would be a great Representative!

If you are nominated and are interested in helping in other ways in addition to helping with the wiki, that is great as well (assisting with lore jams, fielding questions in Heist Planning, ect.). The plan is to add 3 more reps at this time.

We will be running a larger election after the full return of Blaseball.

Nominees will be contacted within the next week to see if they are interested. All nominations must be approved by the Keepers. We will conduct an election as soon as this process is complete.

Blaseball Cares is open, and it has Shoe Thieves stickers! Click on this link here to purchase your own set! The lovely art for these stickers was made by several beloved Accomplices, and the proceeds go to Right To The City Alliance (RTTC). RTTC is a wonderful organization that works to "1) halt the displacement of low-income people, Black, Indigenous, and people of color, LGBTQ communities, and youth of color, and 2) protect and expand affordable housing in tandem with a broader movement to build democratic, just, and sustainable communities." (Quoted text from Blaseball Cares). Each set of stickers is $15! What a wonderful way to show Shoe Thieves pride and put good out into the world!

🎸 Garages Redecorate the Choux/Shoe Thieves Conduct Legitimate Train Inspection 🚂

Yesterday, the Garages' train was undergoing a legitimate train inspection by bonafide train inspectors. As kind and thoughtful league-mates, we had the Garages over for some snacks and pizza. The perfectly legitimate inspection uncovered some glaring safety errors and absolutely no thefts occured. The Garages kindly took it upon themselves to Redecorate. While you are there, say hi to Jimi, our chat dog, who definitely never lived on the Garages' train, must have been a different dog of the same name.

SHORT CIRCUIT LORE JAM IS LIVE!!

Come to the Rogue's Gallery to riff on this batch of Short Circuit players. We only have two weeks, so still playing it fast and loose, but with more structure than last time.

Lore Process:

- Each post suggesting something about a player should be kept to one aspect of the player, and include the player's full name. (This makes it easier to search.)

- React to your own post with :three_thumbs_up:

- Posts that get 4 or more :three_thumbs_up: reactions in addition to your own react (5 total) can be added to the sheet.

- This is for the collaborative player. Personal HC are always allowed! However, keep the lore collaborative for the collaborative player. Please do not monopolize or claim ownership of a player, and allow room for multiple ideas to be blended into the player.

The wiki is closed for editing, but we are preparing documents to make it easier to update player pages once the wiki opens.

Anyone may edit the document, however, please discuss in here first so that we have a record of changes to the doc. Also, do not delete anything from the doc, build off of each others ideas! This is a "yes and" situation!

This is kind of a low key election tbh, since there isn't going to be a following season. The short explanation is to vote with your heart heart and sole 👟

If you want an explanation of what these election choices are to help with that here is one:

Circuits:

These four options will determine the rules and weather under which the next short circuit will be played.

Peanuts

Peanuts is pretty complicated and means like four different things in blaseball, but luckily its in all four options so I don't have to explain it!

Wild Cards vs Mild Cards

We know what Wild Cards are, a random team that didn't qualify for the post season in each conference will get to play a first to two wins series against the worst team that qualified for the post season. Its a very cool rule that the shoe thieves specifically have had some great moments from - Pudge hitting a home run to shame the Breath Mints, Snyder Briggs shutting out the soon-to-be-champion Dallas Steaks. We don't know what Mild Cards is, per an ump, we have never seen that rule before, so who knows what it could be!

Snow vs Noise

These are probably weathers? Not much to go on for what they'd do. Pick the one you like more, I guess?

Vote for whichever Circuit has the two things you like more, they're all probably good.

Charge:

You can vote to charge any player on our active roster. You should vote for the player you want to most see return to blaseball in some capacity in the future, for whatever reasons and criteria you personally use to make that decision (Performance, funny name, headcanons, knowing someone with the same name, etc etc). Note the double meaning of Charge, both someone you take care of and an electrical meaning.
