This is a sfw agere caregiver blog, set at a fictional farm in Southern Ontario!

My name is Sophia (28, she/they), and my table is big enough to fit everyone who visits, so come in and make yourself at home! You can call me whatever you like: mama, auntie, grandma or just Sophia!

🌈 I aim to create a welcoming space for regressors of all backgrounds, colours, shapes, ages, genders, and religions. If you are posting anything hateful, invalidating, or discriminatory on your blog, you will be blocked.

🌱 this blog is very new, so I'm still exploring what I'm going to post! There might be imagines, moodboards, activities, artwork, storytime videos, and more: my inbox will always be open to suggestions.

"Oh, are you? That's a new one, let me get you some water and I'll look up how to take care of you.... Hmmm, it says here that a moss ball needs to be rolled around to make you more round. Alright, curl up little one, you're about to get rolled!"

Introducing The Farm, Part Three: The Forest

Only a third of the farm's property is being used for farming right now: the rest is either meadow or forest! We have some lovely walking trails on the property, and there's so much to explore.

Some areas of the forest are very wide and open, and others are so dense with brush and flowers that you really have to stay on the path! If you wander far enough, you might see some ruins of the very old house that used to be here.

There's a stone labyrinth in the forest, and lots of wildlife. You can feed the chickadees, watch the squirrels, and sometimes you'll see a deer or another forest friend.

These can be magical woods: at night, you'll see fireflies, but there may be mysterious colourful lights flickering between them. You might find a mushroom ring in the forest, but not find it the next day however carefully you retrace your steps.

I didn’t go for a walk today because it was thirty-six degrees (97 for American lovelies!) and that is toooo hot for me! But here are some photos from yesterday’s walk that I didn’t post — I successfully got a good photo of the frog without scaring her.

Ooh, those are good choices!! Those brief weeks where the lilacs are in bloom and you can smell them from what feels like miles away is definitely one of my favourite times of year.

Do you have a favourite breed of dog? I'm particularly fond of Duck Tolling Retrievers (photo below) but there are so many good dogs!

Introducing The Farm, Part Two: The Farmer

Hello! My name is Sophia (28, she/they), and I run Sunflower Farm!

I never planned to be a farmer, but I saw this farm abandoned and run down and I thought... hmm, I could fix that! So I cleaned up the apple orchard, then I fixed up the house and I brought in more berry plants... and sunflowers, of course! It's still a work in progress (just like all of us) but I think it's very cozy.

I am a person with a lot of enthusiasm. I get excited about sunrises, fun socks, opening credit music, and every flower on my path! I am neurodivergent and particularly fond of lists and sorting, so you will probably see a lot of that on this blog.

I'm a second-generation witch, and may celebrate seasonal holidays on this blog! I am sapphic and nonbinary, leaning quite fem on most days. I love my queer family of everyone under the rainbow, and all of our allies too.

I love poetry, musicals, indie two-person bands, and horror books/movies, which surprises some people. My favourite fruits are strawberries and clementines, and my favourite animals are pigeons, coyotes, and raccoons. My favourite flowers are dandelions, sunflowers, and gaillardia.

It’s very nice to walk and try to notice all the little things around me: the flowers in bloom, the birds up above (mostly crows, but I also saw three cardinals and two grackles!), and the way the sunlight comes through the leaves.

Introducing The Farm, Part 1: The House

The heart of Sunflower Farm is the farmhouse: it's an old house that always needs something fixed, but it's big and full of love!

There are little nooks and turret rooms where you can sit with a book, a stuffed animal, or a sippy cup and watch out the window as the shadow of clouds move across the fields.

The sun comes through the windows in brilliant colours, filtering through stained glass panes.

Every regressor gets their own room to decorate however they'd like: or if you have a best friend and you always want to be together, you can be roomies!

The fridge is always full of artwork on the outside, and yummy leftovers and snacks on the inside.

The cupboards are a jumble of teacups and baby bottles and sippy cups and plastic cups, all stored together: the chaos of a happy, busy house.
