His lips twitched upward in a subtle smile at her giggle. His eyes locked with hers for a moment as she rested her head on his chest, and his arms wrapped around her. “I think there are ways I could be more distracting…” As much as he thought the smart thing to do would be her (and possibly him, but he wasn’t going to get into that) getting some sleep, she was right. They haven’t had much time to themselves. “It has been rather hectic lately.” He brushed a bit of her hair away from her face and smiled at her as he stared at her for a minute then leaned forward to kiss her gently, his book easily forgotten.

donna lets out a soft laugh as she turns back to the register. “growth is never a bad thing, but it can be a damn bothersome thing.” she’s taking out her wallet as she speaks, voice light and kind during it. “being able to upkeep a business like this is no small feat either. i’d never be able to manage a shop like this. had a mate a long time ago that loved shops, favorite part of a trip for ‘im was the lil’ shop at the end.” she rolls her eyes fondly, “he would’ve definitely made sure to clean house here, so count your blessings.”

she’s about to ask another question, keep this smooth and inconsequential conversation going when the unmistakable sound of shuffling floats down. she quickly turns her head upwards, and points her wallet in the same direction. “does someone live upstairs?”

      her small little cafe was starting to quiet down, it was getting to be the end of lunch time (around 1:30) and that’s when her very thin ceiling and walls became a problem. ❛ sounds like your old friend would have kept coming back to my little shop, ❜ ellie beamed at donna before she cleared her throat and finished her count of the till - he was hiding in her apartment, she really shouldn’t have been hiding him away but well - he had no where else to go, no TARDIS, no manipulator - forced to have spent the last 77 years on earth. she should really hate him for what he’s put her through but well ... he was very good at what he does.

          𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓   𝐈𝐒   𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄   𝐓𝐎   𝐃𝐎   𝐁𝐔𝐓   𝐖𝐀𝐋𝐊  ?          it’s   inevitable   now   that   they’ll   be   captured  :     and   they’ll   be   lucky   the   hunters   don’t   kill   them   on   the   spot .      wherever   that   spot   is .     until   the   sun   sets   he   won’t   know   where   they   are .     𝐔𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐋   𝐇𝐄   𝐂𝐀𝐍   𝐒𝐄𝐄   𝐓𝐇𝐄   𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐒 .     the   map   in   the   sky .      just   as   he’s   about   to   all   of   her   questions   and   explain   the   situation  ,     he   has   to   stop   to   correct   her   error .             he   stops   in   his   tracks  ,     double   backs  ,     and   picks   up   the   apron   she’d   left   on   the   floor .     the  dusty   ground   wasn’t   for   littering   on  ,    and   to   add   to   that  affect  :      ❝     it   won’t   take   very   long   at   all   if   you   leave   a   path   for   them   to   follow .    ❞       so   he   hands   the   apron   back   to   her  ,    a   little   forcefully  ,     and   then   continues   walking .      𝐇𝐄   𝐌𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓   𝐁𝐄   𝐀   𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐋𝐄   𝐆𝐑𝐔𝐌𝐏𝐘   𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐓   𝐓𝐇𝐄   𝐂𝐔𝐑𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐓   𝐒𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐎 .     just   a   tad .     he   hadn’t   wanted   anyone   along   with   him  ,    and   now   he   was    going   to   have   to   face   the   music  ,     finally .    all   because   she   wouldn’t   let   him   go   alone .

      she fumbles slightly as he hands her apron back to her - fingers brushing against his before she finally gets a hold of the fabric and takes it from him. the brunette should have realised that of course these hunters weren’t human and that they wouldn’t be like any human ‘bounty hunters’ she’s ever heard of before. so of course, leaving things behind wouldn’t be the best option, she had to think of them like dogs more than anything else - well according to what the doctor was telling her anyway. ellie stood still for a couple of seconds, wrapping the thin string of her apron around her shoulders this time, and also allowing her cheeks to cool down before she set off after him.

      the ground beneath them felt like sand and made it slightly difficult for ellie to keep up with the alien - her legs were relatively shorter than his. she managed to catch up to him once again and by his side as they started up the incline, that was leading them away from the open space and towards the trees. teeth bit down on the corner of her lip, as ellie hummed softly. ❛ of course i’m scared. ❜ she finally answered ❛ but i - one minute i was counting the money in my till and the next i’m on an alien planet. ❜ her lips pulled into a smile.
