they offer the cone of ice cream to him , golden eyes crinkling with their cheeky smile .

THEY’VE BEEN BUSY DOING ANOTHER DRAWING , WITH INSPIRATION RUNNING HIGH AS OF LATELY .   One , two , three , this is their . . .   fourth piece now , much to their joy !   As the crayons , markers , coloured pencils are scattered across the table , this time , they decided to go for the simple style   —   using a pencil .   Though something heavy lands on their lap and their attention breaks into them blinking with their eyebrows furrowed , their drawing stops .   They glance down to see it’s a feet with shoes on and remember they’re in the same room as the Doctor   —   wait,  his feet is on THEIR lap ! . . .   [   @timewarn​   ]   Sharp gaze quickly flickers from their lap over to their time friend who have a poetry book in his hands , utterly unaware of his action .   They frown and stare at Doctor’s feet again , yet with more uncertainty over what to do about this   —   one minute , and two , then three. . .  FINALLY , with the pencil still held in their clenched hand , they slam their fists onto his ankles , nearly stabbing him in the process . 

───     @timewarn​     (     𝐓𝐇𝐄     𝐄𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐇     𝐃𝐎𝐂𝐓𝐎𝐑     )     transmitted  :     “    don’t     tell     me     what     to     do .     ”     *     DEADWOOD     SENTENCE     STARTERS  .

“     okay ,     sure .     i’ll     shut     up .     get     around     to     saving     our     lives     in     YOUR     OWN     FUCKING     TIME ,     why     don’t     you ?     ”

the     cracks     begin     to     show     in     moments     like     these ,      her     years     of     solitary     work     leaving     her     ill-prepared     to     put     her     fate     in     another’s     hands .     it     strains ,     tightens     her     throat     and     makes     her     eyes     wild .     of     𝐀𝐋𝐋     𝐓𝐇𝐄     𝐏𝐄𝐎𝐏𝐋𝐄     𝐓𝐎     𝐓𝐑𝐔𝐒𝐓 ,     she     had     to     pick     him .     hand     runs     through     her     hair     in     an     unconscious     nervous     gesture ,      avoiding     his     eyes     by     any     means     necessary .

suave essence washes over him as hand moves to straighten bow tie,    knowing look in squinted eyes,    smile so wide it lifts features.    “    i’m always careful.    you of all people should know that.    ”         said with an air of familiarity before he’s darting off,    ready to be his usual,    reluctant self.

                “ alright, i haven’t been around here very long. and i’ve seen some crazy things. but i-- i don’t think that’s how things are supposed to work. ” he’s laughing-- but he’s kind of horrified. he THOUGHT he had a handle on this new technology, but this? this was so far away from anything he’d ever seen before. “ i don’t think i like it. ”
