This is a very serious post, but I know I have to do it. Please take care of yourself, and just scroll away if you need to. tw: rape/sexual assault, domestic abuse
haunting adeline is becoming a film, and this is so dangerous for so many reasons. The book itself is already harmful to many survivors, and it is overall just disgusting. I don't even know HOW or WHY it was passed to become a movie. It's NOT dark romance. It's not romance at all. Sexual abuse should never be taken lightly, and surely can't be NORMALIZED. And what I'm extremely worried about is that men will see this movie and think women want to be treated like that because it's "romantic." And what do you think that will lead to? My stomach hurts for what's going to happen. This disgusting book should have never been turned into a movie.
Please repost this, share, or anything. This is very serious and needs attention brought to it. And if you're comfortable, I urge everyone to sign a petition to get the film stopped.
The link is right here. No pressure if that's an uncomfortable thing for you, but the more people sign, the better.
I'm going to tag everyone, but please just tell me to remove you if it makes you uncomfortable, I never want to put someone in that situation.
