Soul food since I was a kid - Jamaican cooking

3. What would your perfect summer day include?

It would include happy people appreciating the sunshine, either in the garden, at the beach or taking a stroll by the creek.

4. What’s your favorite thing to wear?

At present, it's my latest long cream cardy that I made out of old linens and doilies with a grey, red and cream dress I bought back in England, with loose pants.

5. What’s your favorite flower?

Oooh too difficult to say just one! To name a lil' few, I'd say jasmine, pansy, fuschia and orchid.

6. If you could live in any time period which would it be?

I used to say the 1960's when I was a young 1980's revivalist Mod, ha. Now I would say the 1930's to gather up all the fab prints and bring them into the present, for my home and wardrobe.

7. What did you want to be when you grew up?

Initially, a sweet shop owner..then a ballet dancer and then the arts...which is where I am at, thankfully.

8. What quote is your personal mantra?

Continue to seek out the goodness, kindness and love in people.   

9. What’s your guilty pleasure?

Searching and purchasing fine materials etc.

10. What’s your wildest dream?

I have epic dreams on a constant basis. My dream inside reality would be for the whole world to be at peace.

Vegetarian Indian Food. Rice, naan and vegetable dishes.

3. What would your perfect summer day include?

A drive to the beach, breakfast at a local cafe, a good book to read in the afternoon, then dinner and a walk through Little Italy or La Jolla by the sea, home to bed to watch a movie with my sweetheart.

4. What’s your favorite thing to wear?

Faded skinny jeans and a bohemian blouse, lots of bracelets, dangly earrings and sexy open-toe heels.

5. What’s your favorite flower?

Peony. Peonies are my absolute favorite flowers, especially after they are a few days old and have opened up into beautiful ruffles.

6. If you could live in any time period which would it be?

Before the internet, actually, life was a lot simpler then.

7. What did you want to be when you grew up?

A singer. Maybe, someone like Adele or Lana Del Rey.

8. What quote is your personal mantra?

Live in Love. This is my go-to favorite mantra.   

9. What’s your guilty pleasure?

Anything with chocolate. I especially love dark chocolate.

10. What’s your wildest dream?

My wildest dream is to be married to my husband until the end of time. I am crazy in love with him.

That's a tough one.  I love food in general, and I wish my answer was something impressive like kale...but it's not.  It's ice cream, chocolate peanut butter to be exact.

  3. What would your perfect summer day include?

A simple day of laying on the beach and playing in the waves with my family.  Building sandcastles and eating melty peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.  Yep, that sounds perfect.

  4. What’s your favorite thing to wear?

I could wear a loose, flowy maxi dress all day every day.

  5. What’s your favorite flower?

Hands down, hydrangeas.  I will have my own now that we live in PA where they will actually grow!

  6. If you could live in any time period which would it be?

I've often been told that I was born in the wrong time period.  I'd definitely have to say the 60's, I suppose I'm an old hippie at heart.

  7. What did you want to be when you grew up?

A teacher or a designer.  I taught for 3 years and now I'm designing and couldn't be happier!

  8. What quote is your personal mantra?

“Enjoy the little things, for one day you make look back and realize they were the big things.” ~Robert Brault.  I try to enjoy the details, I want to soak in every little thing with my children and loved ones.  When I'm an old woman and I look back on my life, I doubt I'll think about my messy house, but I know I'll remember playing in mud puddles, building forts in the living room, and catching lightning bugs.  

  9. What’s your guilty pleasure?

I have to admit, it would be a binge watching of Sex and the City.  It just never gets old.

  10. What’s your wildest dream?

My wildest dream would be to have the money and time to travel the world for a year.  I'd love to visit every place on our bucket list and have enough time to enjoy each and every one.

As far as music goes, i think of myself as kinda stuck in the 70's and 80's. I really enjoy listening to groups like The Eagles, Pink Floyd, U2, Harry Chapin and obviously, my musical interests reach all over the map.

2. What’s your favorite food?

My favorite food is, of course any kind of seafood. End of story.

3. What would your perfect summer day include?

My perfect summer day would be spent on the ocean ,in the sun and waves, and of course knitting along the way.

4. What’s your favorite thing to wear?

My favorite thing to wear is a cute tank top and a pretty boho gypsy skirt.

5. What’s your favorite flower?

My favorite flower is the Zinnia. Zinnia's to me look strong and hearty, yet not so perfect.

6. If you could live in any time period which would it be?

My fiance has been telling me since he met me that I should have been born in the Downton Abbey era. The dresses and accessories the women wear are so very beautiful.

7. What did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was young, I always wanted to be a fashion model. As I got older, my thoughts went towards something more artistic, but still having to do with fashion.

8. What quote is your personal mantra?

My favorite mantra would be "it is what it is". plain and simple. 

9. What’s your guilty pleasure?

My guilty pleasure is yarn.(That was too easy.)

I am loving Daft Punk’s new album at the moment, so all five songs are from “Random Access Memories”

2. What’s your favorite food?

Italian, especially in Italy is small family owned restaurants.

3. What would your perfect summer day include?

Morning coffee at my terrace.

4. What’s your favorite thing to wear?

Silk dress from my own collection, you rarely see me in anything else. Sometimes it’s a cotton dress, but still from my own collection.

5. What’s your favorite flower?

Peonies, I am collecting different peonies in my garden.

6. If you could live in any time period which would it be?

I love living now.

7. What did you want to be when you grew up?

Fashion designer, I never dreamed of anything else.

8. What quote is your personal mantra?

A bold start is half of the victory.

9. What’s your guilty pleasure?

I love to sleep long in the morning. But this doesn’t mean my days are shorter :)

I will sail around Europe on my own private yacht with my family and friends.
