Finally read “Crooked Kingdom” (by @lbardugo).

This moment needs more love. It’s such a huge piece of character development for Chaol.

He’s always hated magic. He’s been taught his whole life to fear it and distrust it. He’s given years of loyal service to the King who outlawed it in the first place.

In Crown of Midnight he was afraid of this part of Celaena, even though he still loved her so much. 

In Heir of Fire it even came between him and Dorian - the man who’s been as good as a brother for half his life. Dorian saw it, that’s why he told Chaol You do not get to pick and choose which parts of her to love.

In the early parts of Queen of Shadows he was still angry and suspicious and afraid. He was worried about what would happen if magic was free. Once magic is free, who is to stop the monsters coming out again? Who is to stop you?

but BUT I did it! I’ve been working at it since last night, LAST NIGHT people. That’s roughly twenty hours of work straight, staring at a computer screen. Lol.
