Here’s what started the mess from what I know of:

A few days before Monsta X’s comeback, an anti on twitter clipped together a video using footage from a fanmeet that took place earlier this year in March. It made Wonho and Minhyuk look insensitive in having a conversation in which Wonho seemingly mocked the Me Too movement.

Of course, this wasn’t actually what had taken place, and the original poster later admitted that they only posted it to sabotage the comeback.

However, netizens still demanded apologies because they either were late with the memo or actually felt offended by the fake video. So Starship released a statement, and both Wonho and Minhyuk issued statements of apology.

Just a couple of days after the comeback, Jung Da Eun, a former ulzzang costar and acquaintance of Wonho’s, made a post asking “When are you going to pay me back?” with a picture of Wonho on a broadcast. Han Seo Hee, the drama seeker she is, commented on the post saying “Pay [them] back” with a sum of around $35k.

With all of the problems and rumors, Wonho announced earlier that he was leaving Monsta X. Han Seo Hee continued to attack him, saying “Just because you leave doesn’t mean you don’t have to pay back.”

Even though both Starship and Wonho released statements about his departure, Monbebe everywhere are working in overdrive to keep him in Monsta X. SK Monbebe went to Starship building to leave sticky notes filled with words of encouragement, love, support, and praise for Wonho.

At the same time, it was started that the group as a whole, all seven, were in a meeting with Starship staff. Security gathered the notes from the building and delivered them to Wonho himself.

Meanwhile, Wonho, Kihyun, and Jooheon were all collectively logging into the FC throughout the night, no doubt reading all of the loving spam Monbebe had been leaving, and still are.

Trends are taking over on twitter to help convince Wonho to stay in Monsta X. Fans are also still spamming love for him in the FC, and quoting the lyrics from Find You to show that we don’t want him to leave.
