From my perspective as a Thai, one big reason is that we basically have CCTV everywhere.

CCTV = Thai people’s eyes.

We're all kinda trained to look out for each other, whether we mean to or not.

Example, if I’m sitting in a food court and someone at a nearby table leaves their stuff to go do something else : my Thai instincts kick in, and I automatically feel like I need to keep an eye on it until they come back.

And if some random person tries to pick it up and it's clearly not theirs?

I’m taking out my phone to secretly record them, just in case.

Yeah, if you’re thinking of snatching someone’s stuff in Thailand, don’t assume no one’s watching or that you can just get away with it.

Chances are, your face might end up getting blasted online or shamed publicly.

That’s why most Thai people don’t even try to steal : we all know how this ends.

BUT IT IS NOT DAMIAN'S FAULT!!

He was just another pawn in Bruce’s chaotic plan that, let’s be real, barely made sense at that point.

He was just following the plan and ended up stuck there, forced to watch Alfred die.

That kid did nothing wrong!

Bruce: “Damian, my son. If you stay with me, I swear I’ll buy you that Arabian horse you’ve always wanted—plus I’ll build a barn just for it.”

Talia: “Habibi, you do know that our palace in Nanda Parbat can openly house your Goliath and red Chinese dragon without hiding them, right?”

Bruce: “White tanuki! You said you wanted to see a white tanuki, didn’t you? How about just the two of us go see one next week at the Japanese zoo, hmm?”

Talia: “My little prince, if you stay with me, I’ll let you sleep with your Bengal tiger on the bed every single night!”

Bruce: “A Bengal tiger!? Are you insane?!”

Talia (rolling her eyes at Bruce): “Also, Damian—your grandfather’s wolf pack needs someone to look after them. You’ve always wanted to play with them, haven’t you? If you come back with me, they’ll be all yours.”

Bruce (visibly worried): “Son! You’re still worried about those dinosaurs on the island, right? We… we… we can go camping there for a week to study their behavior, okay?”

Talia (getting fired up): “My baby! You’ve always wondered about the nine-tailed fox and the Qilin, right? The two of us can go find them! My people reported sightings of them just recently in the northern forests of China.”

"No one likes Damian Wayne."

Whenever I see comments like these, I can't help but wonder—have they ever stepped out of the narrow little world called "personal opinion"?

If Damian's career path is becoming a doctor, like his mother and grandfather (Ra's / Thomas / Alfred)

Then what about Jon's career path?

Is he going to be a journalist like his parents?

Being a journalist sounds cool, but I don't think he'd be the '90s kind who sits at a desk writing news or wears a suit to take photos/interview people at events.

But sometimes, when stans of other Robins talk badly about Damian just to make their favorite Robin look better—like their version is the “perfect” or “real” Robin that everyone should accept—it kinda sucks.

If you're allowed to talk from your own bias, then maybe I can do that too, right?

At first, I thought Baron was more like Bruce, but the more I think about it, I feel he's closer to Damian.

In high-pressure situations, Baron doesn't lose his composure—just like Damian. (If you read Damian's comics, you'll see that he handles illusions and psychological manipulation quite well. Basically, Damian has strong mental resilience, unlike Bruce, who tends to spiral if his emotional triggers are pressed.)

Also, if you strip away the plot design that always makes Baron seem like he makes the right decision, he's actually just as controlling and directive as Damian. You can see that Baron often tells other characters what they should do and only presents them with options he personally approves of.

For example:

Topic: Damian had an amazing moment in Batman and Robin

Then someone comments: “xxx deserves this kind of moment too.”

Topic: Damian stops being Robin to become a doctor

And someone goes: “Hey, someone call xxx! It’s their time to shine!”

Dick: "Yes, Damian, April Fools' Day. Today, you can lie or trick anyone. It's the day of deception!"

Damian : "...Oh"

Jason : "Huh! I don't think this kid understands it."

Tim : "Even if he understands it, what trick is he going to pull on us?"

Dick : "Shut up, guys!"

Dick : "Come on, Damian, try to say something that will make us believe you."

Damian : "You mean, say something that you can't tell if it's true or a lie?"

Dick : "Yep!!"

Damian crosses his arms, rubs his chin, and looks down thoughtfully for a moment.

Damian : "Well..."

Dick, Tim and Jason wait to hear.

Damian : "... I've died more than once."

I think Damian is a very kind person. SO much SO that he forgives his crazy father, Bruce, for repeatedly hurting him emotionally.

And... I think Bruce must be aware of this, which is why he was afraid when Damian said he would stop being Robin.

"HE DID NOT COME TO GOTHAM TO BE BRUCE WAYNE'S SON OR TO LIVE A NORMAL LIFE."

What Bruce said to Jason in Batman and Robin #18 is true. Even though Damian is underage, he is capable enough to live on his own without parental guidance.

Damian is different from Bruce's other adopted children, not because he is Bruce's biological son, but because Damian doesn’t need parents to support him in terms of living and everyday needs. (Of course, he's Al Ghul, and Talia has taught him enough skills to survive without his parents.)

Therefore, I’m not surprised that Bruce expressed his fear of losing Damian when he said, "HE CAME FOR BATMAN. IF HE IS NOT BATMAN'S PARTNER ANYMORE, THERE IS NOTHING KEEPING HIM HERE."

It seems that the world's greatest detective and the world's most clueless father are the same person.

Bruce doesn’t even realize that Damian still wants to be the son of Bruce Wayne.

Damian still wants the things Bruce gives to his adopted children so easily : unconditional love & trust.
