She sighs, her own shoulders dropping, "I understand." She turns her back to Daeyang a hand, subconsciously, reaches out behind her and grazes a passing touch against Dae's hand as she walks towards the couch in her studio. "But," she adds, sitting on the bright red couch. "That doesn't mean I accept it." Doyeon spreads her legs out an exaggerated distance from the other. "We both know that a separation can spell just as poorly or worse where it matters most - Inyeon." How many groups have they watched rise and fall because a singular member left? And how many continued to rise as they weathered through scandal - some even coming back stronger?

Doyeon leans forward, hands clasped against the cushion in the space between her legs. Her attention remains up at Daeyang. She hums to herself, her mind playing out a million different scenarios and hypotheticals in a minute. "You and Joon are about that age," she thinks aloud to herself. Hands coming up, index fingers extended and tapping against Doyeon's lips.

▐║  강대양  ┊  𝐈𝐓'𝐒  𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐃  𝐓𝐎  𝐒𝐄𝐄  𝐀  𝐖𝐀𝐘  𝐎𝐔𝐓  𝐎𝐅  𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒.  No  matter  what  he  does,  there  are  people  who  have  already  made  up  their  mind  about  what  kind  of  person  he  is,  guilty  or  not.  And  those  people  are  relentless.  Most  of  them  will  be  vocal,  disruptive,  and  mainly  a  nuisance  above  all  else.  But  some  of  them  have  power.  Enough  power  to  get  SAMSARA  pulled  from  broadcasts.  To  have  events  cancelled.  Daeyang  can  handle  insults  and  jeers  and  accusations  — but  he  can't  handle  people  fucking  with  his  group  like  this.  His  family.  Maybe  Doyeon  is  right;  maybe  they  can  weather  this  and  come  back  better,  but  they'd  have  to  survive  it  in  the  first  place.  Even  if  they  all  want  to  stick  it  out,  what  about  the  suits  over  their  heads  that  get  to  make  the  big  decisions?  Would  the  label  really  sit  back  and  endure  while  their  profits  get  cut  in  protest  of  one  member?  He  doubts  it.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤHe  pretends  not  to  notice  Doyeon's  touch  as  much  as  he  does,  like  that  accidental  contact  means  nothing  when  in  truth  it  feels  like  enough  to  shatter  him.  He  hates  this  fragile  feeling,  the  sensation  that  all  of  these  repeated  blows  against  him  have  left  him  as  nothing  more  than  fractured  glass  waiting  to  crumble  with  one  last  swing.  He's  fully  content  to  take  the  brunt  of  it  all,  to  let  public  opinion  run  its  course  and  drag  him  to  hell  and  back,  yet  here  she  is,  being  more  generous  than  he  deserves.  Unwilling  to  just  let  him  walk  away  and  fade  into  the  shadows.  There's  a  swirling  feeling  in  the  pit  of  his  stomach,  a  mix  of  guilt  and  gratitude  that  he  can't  voice. ㅤ❝ You're  too  stubborn, ❞ㅤ the  hunter  finally  responds,  little  more  than  a  grumble  as  it  rises  from  his  throat.  He  can't  bring  himself  to  look  at  her.  A  hand  brushes  back  his  messy  hair,  a  deep  exhale  as  he  steps  forward,  turning  to  lean  against  the  open  edge  of  her  desk.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤ❝ I  can't  ask  you  to  do  that  for  me, ❞ㅤ Daeyang  insists.  He's  too  proud  to  admit  he  needs  the  help.  Too  stubborn  himself  to  accept  it.  But  there's  a  pause,  a  click  of  his  tongue  in  his  cheek  as  he  mulls  it  over,  and  finally,  he  relents  on  one  point, ㅤ❝ I'll  enlist. ❞ㅤ She  was  right  about  that;  he'll  have  to  do  it  eventually,  anyhow.  It's  a  good  excuse  to  disappear  for  a  while. ㅤ❝ Military's  like  a  fucking  humiliation  ritual  for  idols  anyway.  Might  as  well  give  these  people  a  chance  to  content  themselves  with  the  idea  of  me  potentially  running  off  to  my  doom. ❞ㅤ Dae  gives  a  short,  strained  laugh,  his  joke  more  cynical  than  anything.  God,  he  needs  a  fucking  smoke  right  now.
