when alexander got off derek’s leash he got hit by a car and died and the alexander that ‘returned’ to aaron is a totally different but similar looking dog - they won’t make it canon but they don’t need to because it already is and i know it in my heart. no dog could live that long and still be that playful, and it’s already shown in canon dogs are drawn to aaron. it’s been like 20 years, there’s no way he remembered alexander well enough that if another white husky lookin dog showed up he’d know it wasn’t alexander. alexander the second trutherism NOW
