My attempt at Failwolf!Friday! (Shhhh, it may still be Friday somewhere!)  I’ve been off radar for a long time and it’s because I’ve been reading all the Sterek Teen Wolf fic. ;3;

Stiles: Aww thanks-

OH MAN one of the (many) things I adore about Hoechlin is how much thought he seems to put into Derek. You can tell he actually sits there thinking about his backstory, or what he’d be like in hypothetical situations or might be like in the future. He headcanons just like us, guys!! And I love it.

Hale Pack headcanons

One of my favorite Hoechlin headcanons is that Derek’s leather jacket in s.1 had been his father’s, and that’s why it’s a little bit ill-fitting on him. I love that Derek would hold onto something like that, wear it like a shield all through s.1 when his whole world seems to be falling apart.

He also said HERE that he thinks Derek helped his dad build the Hale house porch when he was a kid. Hoech has some serious feels about Derek’s relationship with Papa Hale and I love it.

Derek-centric

HERE’s his idea for Old Man Derek (finally having some well earned peace and loving every second of it!), and he’s also said that he wants Derek to have lots of babies and grandbabies, rebuild the pack and have a huge family like when he was young.

He’s also said that if Derek was going to die young it would be because of a heroic sacrifice, diving into danger to protect Scott and Stiles (which is basically what happened at the end of s4 actually).

He said – and I don’t remember when – that he believes Derek buried Erica and Boyd the same way he did Laura. Gave them the honorable wolf funerals they deserved.

Sterek-centric

HERE’s a conversation he and Dylan had about what Derek and Stiles’ interactions would be like in a human high school AU (he’s a basketball jock and picks on Stiles because of his big giant crush).

THIS is Hoech and Dylan talking about a scene they would have loved to see in 3A - with Stiles breaking down in front of Derek after his dad’s kidnapped by Jennifer. Lashing out, shouting and hitting at Derek, and Derek just taking it, taking his anger because he knows what it’s like to need that kind of an outlet.
