CALLING ALL RADIOSTATIC LOVERS:
I want to create a master playlist for radiostatic/ radiosilence! I figure if we have one big, central list of songs from all different genres, we can each pick and choose faves for our own personal lists.
So please reblog with your song recs, and possibly a little blurb or lyric to explain why you picked it. You can also send it to my asks if you want to remain anonymous. Depending on how many recs I receive, I may break it into two separate playlists for radiosilence and radiostatic, or sort by emotional vibe, but for now it’s just one.
All genres welcome (and encouraged!!). And yes- “idk the vibes just fit” is absolutely a good enough reason to include a song. Please reblog even if you don’t have a rec, so this reaches as many fans as possible!
I’ll update the list as it grows, but here it is so far:

*💙*SIMULCAST*❤️*
THE RADIOSTATIC PLAYLIST
{Simulcast- a simultaneous transmission of the same program on radio and television}
“Video Killed the Radio Star” by the Buggles- for obvious reasons
“When I Change Your Mind” by the Cherry Poppin Daddies- “Everything’s gonna be nice and sweet/ when I come sweep you off your feet/ You won’t think I’m such a creep/ when I change your mind/ You don’t want me/ at least not in that way/ You don’t want me/ and that drives me crazy” LISTEN- this song literally sounds like Sam Haft himself wrote it for Vox to sing to Alastor. Not just the lyrics, but the music as well.
“Lovefool” by the Cardigans- “I don’t care if you really care/ as long as you don’t go/ so I cry, I pray, and I beg/ love me love me/ say that you love me”
“All 2 U (Motherfucker)” by Stolas (Helluva Boss)- “I don’t think you meant to hurt me/ cause I don’t think it meant a thing at all/ at all at all to you”
“Tearin’ Up My Heart” by *NSYNC- “It’s tearing up my heart when I’m with you/ and when we are apart I feel it too/ and no matter what I do/ I feel the pain/ with or without you”
“Never Ever Getting Rid of Me” from Waitress- “Oh, I’m gonna do this right/ show you I’m not movin’/ wherever you go, I won’t be far to follow/ Oh, I’m gonna love you so/ you’ll learn what I already know/ I love you means you’re never ever ever getting’ rid of me”
“Love Taste” by Moe Shop- “I want your everything/ every single part of you/ if you think you can fuck with me/ you’re going to lose/ I want to taste your love/ anything you want to do/ and I’ll kill you if you try to run/ you’re mine and mine alone”
“On The Radio” by Donna Summer- “If you think that love isn’t found on the radio/ then tune right in/ you may find the love you lost/ cause now I’m sitting here with the man i sent away long ago/ it sounded really loud/ they said it reallly loud/ on the radio/ whoa-oh-oh-oh/ on the radio”
“She Bangs” by Ricky Martin- the official unofficial MurderMedia theme song
“Crush (Dance Mix)” by Jennifer Paige- “it’s just a little crush/ not like I faint every time we touch/ it’s just a little crush/ not like everything I do/depends on you”
“Villain” by Bella Poarch- “I’ll be the villain tonight/ I kinda like when you despise me after we fight/ feels so much better when I’m/ pushing all your buttons til you’re crawling on the floor/ you say you hate my guys/ but you’re still coming back for more”
“This Hurts” by Mindless Self Indulgence- “oh god I’m beautiful/ oh god I’m wonderful/ I’m marvelous, intelligent/ so why doesn’t that make me feel better?/ I need some more/ I need someone who’s insecure/ I don’t care who you are/ controlling you makes me better”
“Choke” by I DON’T KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME- “now shut your dirty mouth/ if I could burn this town/ i wouldn’t hesitate/ to smile while you suffocate and die”
“Attention” by Charlie Puth- “You just want attention/ you don’t want my heart/ maybe you just hate the thought of me with someone new/ yeah you just want attention/ I knew from the start/ you’re just making sure I’m never getting over you”
“Kiss Me, Kill Me” by Arie Hicks- “crazy cold and damned/ I won’t be satisfied/ til you’re standing cold and scared/ I like you terrified”
“Puttin’ On the Ritz” by Cherry Poppin’ Daddies- this is the best version of this song, and it’s not even close. This is one of those songs that feels very murdermedia-specific.
“Read Your Mind” by Sabrina Carpenter- “Wastin’ all our time/ to think that we could be casual/ you’re not my friend/ and baby you never were/ why the fuss if you say you just wanna be mine?/ I can’t read your mind”
“My Funny Valentine” by Michael Bublé (there are a ton of versions of this song. My personal favorite is the Etta James version, but I think the Bublé one fits better in this list as it’s more dramatic)- “your looks are laughable/ unphotographable/ but you’re my favorite work of art”
“You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile” by Amir Talai (from the musical Annie)- I mean, come on. This is the song that made Vivziepop want Amir to voice Alastor, AND it fits him. I have to include it.
“We Belong Together” by Ritchie Valens- “you’re mine/ and we belong together/ yes we belong together/ for eternity.” Double points because it came out around the time Vox died.
“Brass Devil” by Parov Stelar- cinematic, big band/electronic style song with a ‘swing dancing with the villain’ vibe
“Dancing Shoes” by Fedde Le Grand and Josh Cumbee- “I’ve been through hell and back to stand here next to you/ and darling I’ve got nothing else to lose/ it seems like the devil’s always nipping at my heels/ but thank god I still got my dancing shoes”
“Von Dutch” by Charli xcx- “you’re obsessin’ just confess it/ put your hands up/ it’s obvious/ I’m your number one”
“Hopelessly Devoted to You” by Olivia Newton-John (from the musical Grease)- “but now/ there’s no where to hide since you pushed my love aside/ I’m out of my head/ hopelessly devoted to you”
“Picture You” by Chappell Roan- “do you picture me like I picture you?/ am in the frame from your point of view?/ Do you feel the same? I’m too scared to say/ half of the things I do/ when I picture you.” Extra points for this one bc I can see Vox singing this with all his heart, and Alastor just being like “….I absolutely do not.”
“Somebody I Fucked Once” by Zolita- “probably shouldn’t tell you this but fuck it/ here’s my confession/ I’m kinda hooked on you and in the mood for an obsession/ yeah, you might be someone I could love/ or you’re just somebody I fucked once.” For lovers of the ‘they tried it once and it may have fucked everything up’ crowd.
“Hemorrhage (In My Hands)” by Fuel- “and I wanted/ but you turned away/ you don’t remember/ but I do/ you never even tried”
