our Geometry professor, in his first lecture, said that he didn't remember any geometry since he was specialised in calculus, and proceeded to sit down and READ THE TEXTBOOK ALOUD for the rest of the term (real)

the mechanics professor wrote the titles of the remaining chapters on the greenboard halfway into the term, read them aloud, and said he had found out that according to university rules that was enough for him to claim that he had covered the syllabus. he didn't turn up for the rest of the term

our algebra professor claimed one month into the course that he had to take two days off as he would be busy arranging department scholarships. he then proceeded to not take classes for two months. this wouldn't have been as offensive, if he hadn't continued to take his Differential Equations classes literally next door throughout his "busy" period

our PDE professor forgot he was teaching our course, and went on a 3 month research trip to Europe without asking the university to send a substitute teacher.

multiple professors have proudly claimed at least a third of their students fail their (undergraduate, mind you) course. as if that's what the university is paying them to ensure

ik doesn't seem that bad at first glance. that's because that's just the surface layer:

the software itself IS available for linux. . .as in the website has the source code which can be compiled for linux. with no build instructions

once you do manage to build it, you realize the mouse input detection in the test screen is completely broken on both x11 and wayland (apparently its something to do with sdl ?)

so I decided to run the windows version on wine using bottles. that's the bottom layer of the image

the windows version doesn't have a executable file you can run directly. for some reason it's a batch script which actually opens it.

batch files cannot be added as executables in bottles

so each time i need to run it, i open bottles, open it's wineprefix, open the windows explorer through legacy tools, find the software by navigating through c:/users/... and finally running the batch script which runs the actual program

like if i see something in this font my brain has to switch to a higher gear to decipher the upcoming 2 paragraphs of rambling with no punctuation except some words Written Like This

and if i see something written in computer modern (the default font used by LaTeX) i automatically assume it's true and also that it will be coming in the next midterms
