Introduction
What is Subjection?
Subjection is a two-part work of fiction following a boy (Mahdi) and his failure of a guardian angel (Nasir), who is so bad at her job that she brings upon the murder of one of Mahdi's classmates in a botched attempt at saving his life. The story explores the consequences of both Nasir and Mahdi's actions as they deal with the sole witness to their shared crime, learning new things about themselves and each other. Subjection is ultimately a study on character and relationships, delving deep into more nuanced conversations about intimacy and the forgiveness of both yourself and the people you love.
Subjection is currently a work in progress. It's unapologetically queer and gives voice to neurodivergent people of color (such as myself, the author). This project contains and revolves around mature subjects such as death, sex, and mental health, and should be consumed with discretion (content warnings will always be provided).
I'm still figuring out the best way to share content (I do intend to publish and distribute the books when they're done and would like to avoid intellectual property theft), but this account, at the very least, will contain things like art and "behind the scenes" stuff, as well as silly stuff like memes and maybe even some TikToks if I find it in myself to make any. While I doubt this blog will become popular, I've enabled questions if anyone has any. :)
About Me
For the time being, I'll remain anonymous on this account. Some information about me is that I'm 20 years old at the time of me posting this and I'm African-American (or Black). I use any pronouns and label myself as aroace, the latter playing a large role in my storytelling as you will come to find out. I'm in school for music composition (my main gig) and draw as well, although, I am currently trying to get back into it after not drawing for a while.
Thanks so much for reading and I look forward to sharing my project with you! :)
