This creates major flaws in the show’s writing.

• It shouldn’t have taken just 5 episodes for a reveal this big.

• This makes certain plot holes/inconsistencies way worse

- Every episode regarding Pearl’s individuality & freedom is now invalidated

- The heat compression thing is not common knowledge, why was this just written into the episode? A major plot point? No.

- Amethyst has eaten immense amounts of food countless times, and has never regurgitated (*Specifically Crack The Whip features Amethyst eating then getting poofed)

• The mural????? This was planned?!♦️→💎???? The rotation and all? 2 Seasons later in Garnet’s flashback, Pink is again shown with a quadrilateral♦️gem shape.

• Seriously this shouldn’t even have been possible to introduce and carry out in 5 episodes.

Bonus: Why was so anxious Yellow Diamond to end the trial? What was the importance of any of this episode.

Bonus Bonus: How does nobody recognize Pearl? [Pre Crystal Gem] Garnet mentioned in The Answer ‘[Rose’s] terrifying renegade Pearl’ so they had to have known about her. She’s come face-to-face with several homeworld gems including Blue and Yellow Diamond, although briefly. Was there no profile on her? Zircon wya?

A Rose Quartz and a Pink Diamond look NOTHING alike? 

So Pink was not only able to rotate and shift her gemstone to disguise herself, but also changed the very properties of her gem, the facets, the color, and everything??

i understand that rose’s not-very-quartz-like palette is meant to be visual shorthand for her alignment with humans / the earth

but i feel from a worldbuilding / lore standpoint having the palettes swapped would have made some more sense so long as she still looks sort of human-adjacent / pleasing to the eye

the fact that PD could have masqueraded as a quartz – gems that, as far as we have seen (and we have seen a lot of quartz gems, counting the famethyst) consistently had pale hair as a largely undeviating trait – and not have been questioned at all is a little confusing in-universe

i get that she made the RQs so it can be handwaved but having to handwave it at all is kind of not great

ignoring the gem placement change (i’ll just believe that diamonds can rotate their gems), we’ve only ever seen reformations and shapeshifting use colors from the same general palette, not change their hues entirely. so this redesign would have their colors literally swapped / matching

i want the Crystal Gems to all fight for the good of the planet, but not for Rose’s sake. 

i want Pearl to be the first one to denounce Rose and say that Rose has no right to be associated with the Crystal Gems anymore. that Rose was never worthy of being their leader and that they’re the ones that really give a shit about Earth. i want her to completely relinquish the feelings she felt for Rose, to move on, and then say sorry to Steven.

i want Garnet to become the real leader of the Crystal Gems- i want the love between Sapphire and Ruby to be the real representation of peace and love and all the wonderful things that can be found on Earth. Garnet rebuilds the Crystal Gems into an actual group of people that came together for the sake of keeping Earth safe and fighting against the Diamonds. all of the Diamonds, not just Yellow or Blue or White. 

i want Amethyst to be angry, i want her to completely love herself. not because of Rose saying she was perfect the way she is- i want Amethyst to say she’s completely perfect the way she is. and i want her to talk to Peridot about this, about having someone she admired all her life turn out to be a manipulative monster that never really cared about anyone else. and i want Peridot to relate to this revelation and the two can support each other. 

and i want Peridot to be a part of the group. she wants to help rebuild the Crystal Gems and follow the real leader that gives a fuck about them (Garnet) and has never used any of them for her own sake (Garnet). 

and i want Bismuth to be a part of the group. she’s going to obviously be incredibly hurt. and i want Steven to say sorry,for bubbling her and for telling her about this. and i want Bismuth to hold the poor broken-down Steven and tell him, “i said you were better than her. you still are.”

That instead of being “shattered” by a rebel quartz, that the Diamonds personally scrubbed away Pink Diamond’s insignia in an act of DISOWNING A DIAMOND THEY CONSIDERED A TRAITOR. They had to cover up the fact that the HIGHEST AUTHORITY in their regime, who rules over all the other gems, tried to OVERTHROW the system! If she was the Diamond who was CAST OUT and went incognito (ala Rose) and they were so ashamed and disgusted, that they made up the whole story of a lowly quartz instead of a fallen queen…
