“I have something I’ve been working on back in my workshop that should mimic a supernaturally efficacious case of pneumonia and should take care of Lancer’s Master fairly quickly. But putting that aside for the moment,” he pauses in thought for a moment, lips quirking to the side, “we should discuss what we’re going to do for the next few nights if we’re avoiding this section of the city so we don’t run into Lancer again. I’ve heard a few rumors of someone who sounds like they could be another Master coming from downtown, and there’s a series of unexplained deaths that could be a Servant feeding closer to the high school.”

“I see… That is quite the feat…” She knew little of true magic or even modern magecraft, after all, so such feats were usually interesting to her. Even if some may say that her perfect clairvoyance was just as incredible. “Yes… The… school troubles me more, but I defer the decision to you, Master.” As was usually the case with the Berserker; strangely coherent, but also just as subservient, a far cry from the usual case with the class.

“Then to the school we shall go!” Raymond had, after plenty of research and a few interviews with survivors, found that alienating one’s Servant tended to be a leading cause of death in these conflicts, just after ending up as collateral damage from a wide area Noble Phantasm. He had resolved to stay on the best terms possible with his Servant and was honestly quite afraid of the nominal Servant. Sure a Command Spell could be used to make her kill herself if need be, but given the speeds Servants could move at she could leave him in three pieces before the first word left his mouth were she so inclined.

“I apologize, Berserker.” Raymond gave a nod, carefully withdrawing his hand from where he had reached out to comfort the Servant who had flinched as if in pain from something. “Are you all right? That battle with Lancer seemed rather rough.”

“You seemed off balance from the moment you saw him, and it only got worse as you kept fighting, was he someone you recognized? If so, I can endeavor to spare you another confrontation with him, I managed to get some of his Master’s blood so putting a curse on them should be easy and as they wither away, we can focus on the War.”

…That’s right. The surprise and discomfort from her Master’s touch had caused her to forget, briefly, but… “…Yes. That was… my brother.” They were both reluctant to fight, but when Hector’s Master had ordered him into battle, Cassandra was forced to defend herself… Despite that, they took the utmost care in order to avoid actually hurting each other. “…Thank you. I would… prefer not to do that again…” Any pain she felt was metaphorical, after all. Hector had hardly touched a hair on her head, in the end.
