          𝐀  𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄  𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐆  𝐄𝐍𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇  𝐓𝐎  𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐒𝐄  𝐀     halt  on  anakin’s  every  move ,     heavy  in  its  own  simplicity .     the  jedi  stopped  mid - step ,     his  whole  figure  turning  in  order  to  allow  his  gaze  to     roam  upon     the  woman  behind  him  once  more :     and  relish  on  how  her  voice  echoed  with  harmonic  resonance .     a  smile  became  manifest  on  his  lips     ――――     unrolling  to  reach  normally  marbleized  features  and  touch  the     glow     of  blue  eyes .

“  have  i  ever  failed  at     coming  back     to  you ?  ”          voice  molded  with  hints  of  jest  as  the  skywalker  walked  to  padmé’s  presence :     the  starfire  of  his  love .     a  battle  would  roar  around  him  the  moment  he  left  her  presence     ――――     thus ,     for  a  few  more  minutes ,     anakin  allowed  himself  the     privilege     of  peace  he  could  only  find  while  with  her .          “  no ,     right ?!     so     why     would  i  do  it  now ?!  ”          ignoring  the  boldness  of  his  own  words ,     the  jedi  smiled  down  at  padmé  once  again :      flesh  hand  coming  to  a  gentle   &   caring  rest  on  her  face .          “  i’ll  be  here  again  before  you  know  it .     i  promise .  ”

Her beating heart was allowed a moment of reassurance once he turned around on his own heel to come back to her. Just because the world around them was in a constant state of war and chaos DIDN’T MEAN IT MADE WATCHING HIM LEAVE EACH TIME ANY EASIER, no matter how often he went off into battle. Though his voice be frivolous, her look of concern stayed ever present upon her face, eyes closing whilst his hand moved up to cradle her cheek.

Tilting her head to rest in his hand, a sad smile moved onto her lips, eyes glossy once she opened them.     ❝        𝚈𝙾𝚄'𝚁𝙴 𝚂𝚃𝙸𝙻𝙻 𝙷𝙴𝚁𝙴, 𝙱𝚄𝚃 𝚈𝙾𝚄 𝙵𝙴𝙴𝙻 𝙻𝙸𝙺𝙴 𝙰 𝙼𝙸𝙻𝙻𝙸𝙾𝙽 𝙻𝙸𝙶𝙷𝚃 𝚈𝙴𝙰𝚁𝚂 𝙰𝚆𝙰𝚈 . .        ❞     She whispered up to him. Some might deem her dramatic, an unfitting description, but could anyone blame her? Anakin was good at comforting her, allowing her to look at the bright side of things.. It’s just sometimes, AN OVERWHELMING SADNESS REFUSED TO RETREAT and allow her to be comforted by him. She trusted him, yes, but fate wouldn’t wait up. NOT EVEN FOR ANAKIN SKYWALKER. It wasn’t as if his mission tonight were any different from the others, if anything, it was less chaotic; still, she was falling to pieces, dreading the thought that even now there was a risk he’d never come back.

     THE MEDITATION chamber could only ease the pain so much; and even the pain that it did manage to ease was only a physical one. The emotional turmoil he felt day to day, hour to hour, minute to minute…. it was impossible to soothe. No one in the galaxy would know how much the dark lord of the Sith carried with him; some days even the sheer amount truly eluded the Sith himself. It was only in times of solitude that he warred with himself.

     HE HAD not meant to, but his mind began wandering to memories he thought he had long ago vanquished. Padme…. He let out a slow breath. Did he dare dive deeper into those memories? He shouldn’t. He couldn’t…. but a small part of him, hidden away by all the anger and fury, yearned for it.

                       ‘ a n a k i n … ‘

     A QUICKENING in his breath. Had he imagined that voice? Eyes flashed open as he looked around the meditation chamber. No one, as it should be. But there was no other explanation for that despised name to be heard - the Sith Lord would never allow himself to even think it. But that voice… so sweet, so soft, so warm. It could only be one…

                                                                            ‘ a n a k i n … ‘

     “PADME…” he uttered, barely above a whisper, a tone so soft it was almost unfitting for the Lord. 

A world of loneliness and utter pain is what he traded his life for. Though he’d been in a pool of anxiety and sorrow leading up to his inevitable downfall, this life wasn’t anything he’d have anticipated.. and he threw it all away for Padmé, or so he thought. He gave up everything he ever had, was willing to trade his life for hers, but in the end it never mattered. From the last time her eyes would light up on that ship, the last time he’d utter his name on Mustafar, tears rolling rapidly down her cheeks as she pleaded him to give up and come with her.. Her skin would never see the light of day again.

That was long ago. Ten years, in-fact. It was almost the eleventh anniversary of her death, and it was a few days away. When was the last time he’d even thought of her? Looked at her pictures.. Did he even have any? A response could be heard just mere moments after, but she wasn’t scared. Still, she used his name. Anakin Skywalker was dead now, this was no longer the man she once loved; they died together on Mustafar that tragic day, only she was buried alone.

❝        𝙰𝙽𝙰𝙺𝙸𝙽, 𝙼𝚈 𝙻𝙾𝚅𝙴 . .        ❞    She whispered, finally showing herself once he opened his eyes.

Anakin wanted to be enough, he wanted to be enough for someone. to be all they needed to grant true happiness and to be accepted. Padme accepted him and wrought great emotion back and from him. Her smile, would steady him through a long time apart which seemed to grow longer and longer. his heart did not get less fond for her, just more stressed and wrecked when he tried to bring about the end to the conflict. Anakin, would leave his impression and take one of her long before this night was over.

Passion was quick to burn away fear and doubts. They were tied together yes, but when they were together Anakin strived to present his best self and his truest emotions. giving himself over to the woman, “ Padme.” He breathed hotly on her face, touching her softly before he lifted her off her feet. He kept his eyes on beautiful gaze, crossing their apartment, expertly dodging the objects in his way. supporting her soft supple form, but also cradled her close, eager to leave an impression on her lips. 

And he was enough, he was more than Padmé could have ever asked for, and he was proving that every single day to her even when they were far apart. Being with Anakin forced Padmé to learn what truly being in love meant. They didn’t need all of the attached luxuries no matter how much they wanted. So long as they had each other’s word and stayed true, that was enough. Sometimes though, she felt greedy. She wanted him all to herself, she didn’t want to share him and send him away into battle moments after he left her breathless from love-making. Maybe she’d rather have him lay beside her a while longer, and just hold her in his arms while they’d drift off to sleep together. Life had never been fair though.
