Update on This Blog (I'm back!)
Hi everyone! It's Pinky, the moderator. It's been a while since you've heard from me and I sincerely apologize for a lack of posts here/replying to your fanfic requests. I went through an insanely painful writer's block and I had zero motivation to make fanfics. But recently after seeing people start requesting fics again, I've decided to resume progress again on this blog! It might take me a few weeks to restart completely, since I have some projects I need to complete. But after I get back into things, I will definitely start answering requests at a quicker pace.
Thanks to everyone who's been continuing to support my writing these months where I've been radio silent. I'm hoping to continue to entertain people and to keep this fandom alive and chugging for as long as I possible can. Writer's block is painful and not being able to express your ideas is even worse. I hope that the people who have been waiting for their request for months understand that I've been going through some things but that their requests will probably be the first I answer. Thank you everyone for sticking with me and stay tuned for more updates in the next few weeks. In the meantime, if you have a fic request, feel free to submit it! It will take longer but just know that I've seen it and I will get to you eventually! And wow I didn't expect how many people really loved my work, especially with the gay mice!
I love you all and I appreciate the support from everyone!

Another botched plan, another night spent wasting away in failure. Even though world domination had been put aside for his marriage to the love of his life, he still felt that lingering guilt of a futile attempt. Why he kept pondering these negative ideals, he had no clue. But The Brain could only wish that he would pay attention to things that truly mattered.
Mainly his lovable Pinky.
He kept his head down as Pinky literally carried him back into the cage, his arm bandaged from an incredibly painful fall after an explosion. It stung mildly but he was certain it would be healed by tomorrow. Brain could only think about how fortunate it was that his husband hadn’t been harmed by the blast. He almost forgot that he’d been hurt himself.
“I’m sorry that the plan failed Brain. Narf! I’m sure you’ll get it tomorrow! I know it!” Pinky smiled, holding Brain gingerly as he slowly walked.
Brain winced a little at the slight pain the Pinky accidently inflicted on his arm with his movements, but he sighed afterward as he glanced upon Pinky’s calm expression. He found relief in the way his precious face was all scrunched up and cheery looking. “You have nothing to apologize for, my dear. Tonight’s failure was entirely because of my own volition. I…should have paid more attention to the fine mechanics in all honesty.”
“Aww!” Pinky purred, nuzzling Brain’s nose, touching it softly which caused Brain to let out a light squeak. “Don’t be so hard on yourself! I believe that you can do this! Or at least you won’t cause an explosion next time!”
“Thank you, Pinky.” Brain nuzzled back, pushing them as close as they could go in their current circumstance. “I welcome your support and confidence in me. And I couldn’t be happier with your loyalty…”
He stopped in his tracks when he got a good view at his husband’s reaction to his returning affection. His eyes lit up and his tiny smile grew wider. He could even notice a light pink dusting his face. Brain could feel a deep blush creeping up; suddenly his want for Pinky took over a desire for everything else. Even those nagging thoughts that were previously present faded away.
“Uhm…it appears that my previous temperament has left me. I seem to have become entranced by your loving stare, Pinky. I cannot finish my previous sentence, at least with the same level of slight irritation as I once had.” He tried keeping a straight face, but his emotions were starting to affect his entire body. Brain felt himself heat up more when Pinky responded with a flirty smirk
“Oh, Brain! Poit! Stop it! You’re making me feel all fluttery and gooooshy! I could so kiss you right now!” Pinky quickly batted his paw up and down, as his blush became even more obvious.
Brain lifted his non-injured arm to place his paw on Pinky’s cheek, causing him to look directly at Brain. “We are spouses, Pinky. We’ve been married for a year. You know you don’t have to say that anymore. I usually oblige to kissing in most situations.” He stopped briefly to pull Pinky closer, their foreheads touching. “And you are far too beautiful right now for me to resist.”
Pinky was about to respond, but Brain didn’t let him, their lips meeting before he even had the chance to speak. Pinky made a moan of surprise when Brain made his move, but he soon began humming contently as the kiss continued, his tail happily swishing. Brain felt himself swoon a little at Pinky’s quiet sounds, one of his favorite parts of kissing by far. He savored the moment, deepening the kiss at a speedy pace.
When Pinky parted for air, Brain didn’t waste any time and locked their mouths together once more. He loved kissing his husband. It always made him feel better about himself and about his difficulties. Pinky was so placid and caring with him, it was almost unreal how this mouse had become all his. But just as their kiss was about to take a more intimate turn, Pinky’s legs gave out as he tripped on the entrance to their cage, causing Brain to tumble to the floor with an obnoxious thud.
Brain yelped; the fall had caused a searing pain to return to his injured arm. He hissed, biting back embarrassment that the kiss had distracted Pinky from seeing where he was going, but also fighting back tears that began to prick his eyes. Brain knew it had been an accident. Yet somehow, this little slip caused all the built-up emotions from before to come crashing back, even more spiteful, and harsh than before.
Before he could fully lose himself in his agony, he felt himself be held tightly. Brain eased a little when he saw his husband’s worried face in front of him, his apologetic appearance radiating immense trepidation.
“Brain, are you alright? Zort! I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to drop you. I always forget about that nasty-wasty step. I’m such a dunce. How’s your arm?” Pinky spoke chaotically and quick, inspecting Brain’s arm gingerly. He seemed to grow more troubled when he noticed the slight swelling, his distress growing. “Oh no! It’s even worse! Your arm’s all swelled and angry! I’m sorry, Brain! I’m a bad husband!”
The megalomaniac felt his stomach churn a little at Pinky’s sudden outburst. It was not his husband’s fault that he was injured, it had just been a matter of occurrence. “No, Pinky. You are certainly not a bad husband. You just happened to not pay attention to your surroundings, which is inane. But you are mostly not to blame. Even if the pain is immense” Brain snuggled closer to Pinky, doing his best to soothe his spouse’s woes. “You are a remarkable partner, dearest. Don’t ever doubt that or I shall have to kiss you.”
Pinky placed a paw on Brain’s cheek, rubbing it tenderly. He giggled, carefully setting Brain’s arm down before dragging him closer. “I love you so much, darling. I want you to know that every day! But can I kiss and hug away your boo-boos so that you feel all happy and good again? Pretty please?”
Brain was hesitant at first, mostly because he knew that kisses didn’t provide any real healing and that his arm was still hurting quite a bit. But the prospect of more kissing from his lover was so tempting, he couldn’t pass on this opportunity. “Alright, Pinky. You may proceed with your attempt at comforting me. Be careful though.”
“Yay!” Pinky cheered, slightly shaking Brain in his excitement. “I promise this’ll make you feel all better! Troz!”
Wasting no time, Pinky immediately lowered his head and began peppering kisses along Brain’s arm, making sure not to miss a single spot. It was a little crude, but Brain was not paying any attention to the more awkward factors in the matter. He was far too lost in the pleasant sensations invading his body. “P-Pinky. It-it’s perfect.” He struggled saying anything coherent. Pinky’s kisses proved to incapacitate him in every single feasible way.
Pinky briefly looked at Brain, adoration shining in his eyes. “I knew you’d love-love-love it! And I’m not done!”
After a little while of Pinky simply kissing Brain’s arm, he sneakily worked his way up to Brain’s neck and chest, leaving a couple smooches there. Brain held in a reaction as best he could, though he failed to suppress light chuckles. His husband noticed this, kissing him even faster and deeper than before. Brain had a feeling that Pinky didn’t exactly want to relieve his injuries anymore. Not that he cared, Pinky kissing him was a benefit no matter what. But he could clearly tell that things were shifting.
Brain let out a slight whine when Pinky left him, though the two remained close. He felt his spouse’s arms wrap around his waist, as he began being pulled into an embrace. He was about to protest the crushing contact, feeling like the kisses were enough. Just as quickly, however, that initial unease was completely replaced when the side of his face was gently settled on Pinky’s soft chest.
He could hear the soft sighs and hums elicited by Pinky, which he found quite adorable. Brain tried his best to situate himself to where he could be in a better position so he could hold Pinky as well. Obviously, he couldn’t raise his bandaged arm, but he supposed that one would suffice enough. He did his best to keep Pinky close, but his husband was nuzzling and kissing his head and it tickled just a little. While he tried at first to tell Pinky to stop, Brain suddenly froze when he sensed an unusual, yet loving feeling began seeping into his mind.
That’s when he noticed it.
The noise that he’d grown quite accustomed to over the past few years. This time, though when he heard it, something was different. His reaction was different.
Pinky’s heartbeat.
It was like he was hearing the gentle thrum for the first time. Which was simply not true. It had been so many years since Brain first rested against Pinky’s chest. The first time, he’d been shocked and even a little confused. He knew Pinky had a heart. Every living being did. But he still hadn’t heard one beating so close. Brain was even a little fearful about it at first. Pinky had been so comforting though, helping him feel more secure in their newfound relationship. It was one of the best days of his life.
Following that, whenever they would get close or fall asleep within their shared sponge bed, Brain would always listen for Pinky’s heartbeat. He felt like it was a sign of their love for each other, their connection. Without it, Brain felt insecure and trepidatious. Almost scared, though he wouldn’t admit that. When they’d been married, Brain sought it even more. He hoped that for as long as he could hear Pinky’s steady heart, they’d be together.
And yet, currently, he was feeling strange. Something wasn’t adding up to him.
Brain stayed as quiet as possible, trying to absorb the sound into his mental capacity as a dark blush appeared on his cheeks. It was a steady rhythm, quick and yet soft. Noisy but peaceful. Energetic and a little erratic. Just like the mouse that it resided within. How a heart could match someone so perfectly Brain did not know. Still, his usual calmness during these kinds of moments was nonexistent currently; he was thinking about a lot. But he had not a clue as to why.
Was it because of the failure? Was he questioning his relationship with Pinky? What was happening to his emotions?
A sudden rush of anxiety crept over Brain, hitting him like a rock. He hastily pulled away from his husband, backing away slowly as his breathing increased in vigor. Pinky’s calm face sank into one of confusion, cocking his head to the side at Brain’s peculiar reaction.
“Brain, is something wrong? I didn’t hurt you again, did I?” Pinky murmured with a little hesitation.
Brain mustered up his confidence, trying to respond to Pinky’s questions with an excuse. “Yes, I’m fine, dear. I…uh…I just remembered that we haven’t had dinner yet.” He looked off to the side, hoping that Pinky wouldn’t make assumptions. Brain wasn’t even hungry.
“Egad! You’re right! Narf! I knew I forgot something! Silly me!” Pinky got up from the ground and immediately dashed for the cage door, a slight skip in his step. “Would you like me to use the three-in-one oil again for your food pellets? I know how much you like that.”
Brain nodded, hoping that he’d be gone for a while so he could process what was occurring in his thoughts. “I would like that very much. Feel free to take all the time you need. I’ll be here waiting for your return.”
Pinky squealed, waving flirtatiously and winking as he walked away. “Don’t go anywhere, love! Or do. I’m not stopping you!”
Brain did his best to smile, but when Pinky turned around, his face fell.
Now he needed time to ponder for sure.
**************************************
It had only been five minutes, and yet Brain had already found himself in an intense emotional spiral, his mind whirling and scattered thoughts giving him a mild migraine. He was sitting on the edge of his sponge bed, staring out into the empty space beyond the cage bars. He hadn’t heard Pinky in a while so something told him that he was very busy making the food pellets just the way he liked. But that pleasing notion was doing nothing to stop his uncertainty and worry.
He didn’t understand why he’d reacted like that. Why he’d panicked upon hearing Pinky’s heartbeat. That had been happening for years. Why now suddenly was he nervous? Why now had he felt odd?
Somewhat bewildered.
Frightened even.
It had been three years since he and Pinky had become a thing. Romantically speaking that was; they’d been friends for decades. He’d first heard Pinky’s heart only a few days before the big confession. That had been the triggering point for him. What pushed Brain to confess his affections to his partner. Their first kiss was breathtaking. The snuggles that followed over the next few days were glorious. Things only grew from there. Days in a relationship turned to weeks, which turned into months, which eventually led to their marriage. Brain’s love for Pinky knew no restraints. He loved Pinky. He loved Pinky so much.
Yet, he questioned why Pinky would stay with him. How had the most incredible being to ever exist ended up with him? He was a simple laboratory mouse who constantly failed at taking over the world. And still he got a loving husband? Why him? He was a failure. And his abrasive behavior towards Pinky occasionally could be seen by others as abusive.
Through all the plights, Pinky cared about him. Loved him unconditionally. Showered him with warmth, late-night cuddles, and tender kisses that made him feel rather invincible. Through all the peril and despair Brain encountered, Pinky was always there to offer him support. He hated to acknowledge it but without Pinky, Brain wasn’t so sure he’d still be alive.
He could feel the tears pouring from his eyes, could sense his labored breaths. Brain didn’t understand why he was so afraid of confronting his love for Pinky or what exactly made him question it. Pinky was his world. They were married and had been together for what felt like a lifetime. While it had been so long since they reached non-platonic levels, Brain still questioned if and why he even earned his husband. He questioned if Pinky would truly stay with him forever. Or would he leave him at the first signs of trouble. Right now, those thoughts were prevalent more than ever.
All this started because of a stupid heartbeat. What a preposterous reason to be upset.
He held in a sob, closing his pink eyes to resist the sudden urge to start crying and never cease. All these questions were killing his emotions, making him feel unworthy. Brain hated weakness. He tried to never show it. Though now, it seemed like all he could do was be vulnerable and get lost in his own beliefs.
“Brain! I’m done with the food pellets! Poit! We ran out of the three-in-one oil, so I had to use that stuff in the cupboard that tastes like soap. I hope that’s okay with you!”
Brain didn’t even look up when he heard Pinky calling out to him. He couldn’t glimpse at him directly with all the emotions that were building. He tried to ignore Pinky, but as always, his spouse knew something was wrong instantaneously.
Pinky approached slowly, a clear apprehension prevalent in his expression. “Honey, is something wrong? You look like you’ve been crying.”
Brain lifted his head so he could finally glance at Pinky, not trying to hide his tear-stained face anymore. Pinky seemed to notice Brain’s upset state, rushing over to him, and sitting on the edge of the bed. He immediately pulled him into a small hug, using his paws to hold Brain’s face.
“No, no. Don’t cry. Please don’t cry. It will be okay, I promise. What’s wrong?” Pinky gently wiped tears from Brain’s cheeks, kissing his nose softly. Brain tried to hold it in but to no avail.
“I’m sorry Pinky. About everything,” he quietly sobbed. “I’ve been having these ridiculous doubts lately about us. About why you stay with me. Why you chose me to be your husband out of everyone else. It’s inane, yet I still have these questions.”
Pinky gasped faintly, tilting Brain’s head so that they could stare at each other face to face. “We’ve talked about this so many times, Brain. I chose you because I love you. I’ve always loved you since I first met you.”
“You’re just saying that.”
“I’m not.” Pinky’s tone changed from sympathetic to stern in a matter of seconds. His usually soft blue eyes were now filled with some hints of irritation. “I would never not be honest Brain. I’m not a good liar. Zort! Why are you feeling like this? Did I do something wrong?”
Brain snapped. His emotional barrier came toppling down much quicker than usual as he moved from his husband, eyes flaring. “That’s the problem! You’ve done nothing wrong. You act so kind and considerate of me, Pinky, and I’m afraid that I don’t deserve you at all! That you’d leave me someday because I hurt you! I can’t risk that.” He tried to keep from making a scene, but not much could quell his vicious and sudden sobbing.
Surprisingly, Pinky didn’t overreact. He barely whimpered. He wiped a few small tears from his face before holding onto Brain’s shoulders, making sure not to cause pain to his injury. “You do deserve me, sweetheart. We’re a happier-than-happy couple and we’re in love! I couldn’t think of anyone else to be all mine. You’re amazing! What made you think about all these spooky scary thoughts?”
“Surprisingly, Pinky, it was that.” He pointed to Pinky’s chest, a little hesitation present at revealing his reasoning for his brief emotional crisis.
“My chest? How does my chest make you nervous?”
Brain sighed, rubbing his temple a few times in annoyance. “No Pinky, your chest is…nice. It’s…uh well…it’s your heartbeat.”
Pinky’s confused face shifted to one of slight alarm as he examined his chest. “My heart, Brain? Is something wrong with it? I try to tell it to not be so chatty, but it just can’t help itself. Poit! It loves making those funny noises.”
The megalomaniac couldn’t help but blush and smile a little at Pinky’s naïve nature and trivial comments. “It’s just…set some feelings in me that weren’t there before a few moments ago. That’s really it.”
“Oh! Like the day we became a couple! That was so fun! And so sweet of you! I remember that all the time!” Pinky nuzzled Brain after saying that.
“I appreciate your comments and your unbridled affection for me.” Brain nuzzled Pinky back and pulled him nearer. “But would you ever leave me for someone else? I’d hate to make you feel like I don’t love you when I do…”
“Pish-posh!” Pinky interrupted, happily chuckling afterward. “I love you no matter what happens! Narf! And I’d never leave you! I married you because I knew I’d never hate you! I don’t know how many times I need to say it, but I love you! I love you so much!”
Brain felt more tears coming, but they were far from unhappy ones. He gave his husband a soft kiss on the lips, before settling their noses together. “I love you too Pinky. And I don’t suppose I could…uh…m-maybe do that thing again?”
“Do what?”
With a slight eyeroll, Brain changed his position, so he was sitting perfectly in Pinky’s lap, wrapping an arm around his spouse’s waist. “W-what I meant was that I would…like it very much if we shared an embrace again, like before.” He held his breath for what Pinky would say.
“Of course, darling! I always love hugging you! Even if you grab me by the nose afterward because I almost killed you! Zort! C’mere!”
Without saying another word, Pinky pulled Brain to his chest, settling his head on Brain’s. It wasn’t long before the room grew quiet enough to where Brain could hear Pinky’s heart. However, instead of feeling bizarre, Brain felt a pleasant warmth conquer his senses, leaving his face in a deep red and his eyes widened. The sound was just loud enough to be audible but so soft that he could have easily drifted to sleep. It was the same thing as before, yet all the sweeter. Brain could sense his own heartrate increasing. How was it possible for him to fall more in love with his husband?
When Brain finally lifted his head, he was met with the warmest look he’d ever seen Pinky give him. He couldn’t help but softly smile. They just stared at each other for what felt like hours until Pinky finally spoke up.
“C-can I try it too?” Pinky asked with so much hope.
Brain was very puzzled. “Try what Pinky?”
“Can I listen to your heartbeat thingy? I wanna hear it too. Troz!”
He wasn’t sure how to respond. It had been so long since Pinky had made any remarks on his own heartbeat; ever since they’d gotten married, he remembered. But Brain wasn’t going to tell him no. He wanted Pinky to feel the same way that he’d just felt. But he was still a little apprehensive about how Pinky would react.
“Yes, Pinky. You may. As long as you don’t suck all the oxygen out of me. And please remember my injury, okay?”
Pinky cheered, instantly settling his head beneath Brain’s, and laying his ear against his chest. Brain let out a slight gasp at how quickly his partner had hugged him, but he didn’t want to complain as he planted light, tender kisses on Pinky’s head so that Pinky could feel his love. He already knew his heartbeat was fast, so he hoped Pinky wouldn’t mind.
He was surprised when Pinky pulled away so quickly. Brain was worried he’d done something wrong, although by the way Pinky was staring at him, he could tell Pinky was more amazed than anything.
“Brain! Your heart is sooooo cute! It’s making me swooooon! Poit! It sounds so soft and sweet. Kinda like you!” Pinky purred, his eyes fluttering.
Brain was flattered by Pinky’s charming words. Though he still thought that their embrace was far from over. “Pinky, dearest, if you’re still up for more… I guess you could continue listening if you so desire.”
The taller mouse perked up, clear excitement showing. “Really? You mean it?”
“Certainly, Pinky. I’d be keen on it if you kept going.” Brain could feel the blush returning to his face.
“Well then I better not waste any more time!”
Pinky was true to his word, grabbing Brain and resting his head on his chest, humming softly as their embrace continued. When Pinky had made the sound, Brain shuddered a bit, his entire body heating up. His husband was very adorable when he was like this, so loving and cuddly.
After a few moments of silence, Pinky finally said something again. “Y-know, Brain. I could stay like this forever and ever. I love your heartbeat. And I love you! I wanna stay with you beyond forever! Narf!”
For once, Brain agreed with his lover, and though it was only one paw, he tried to hold Pinky as tightly as he could. Before he could finally silence himself and just sink into the moment, he responded with words he felt like he’d needed to say all night.
“I love you too, Pinky. And I agree with your statement. I want to remain with you forever too.”
“You mean it, love?”
Brain smiled brightly and kissed Pinky’s head. “Yes. Always yes.”
Just One Kiss (PaTB/Brinky Fic)
Hello everyone!! It's kinda been a little while since you've heard from me but I'm back here with a little warmup I did so I could get myself ready to work on other things!! I honestly wasn't feeling too good about this one but I still wanna post it for all of you!! Thanks to @therealhayyhay for the confidence boost and the prompt this fic was based on! I hope you enjoy!!
Plot: All Pinky wants is kiss from Brain. Just one before they execute the plan. But Brain is focused on his work and doesn’t want to be disturbed. So, Pinky will have to get a kiss the hard way.
Pinky paced rapidly around the cage, the boredom and anticipation starting to affect his usually cheery mood. While instances like this weren’t unusual, for some reason, this time, he could barely sit still for a single second. All he could think about was the fun couple-y things he could be doing right now with his bestest and sweetest boyfriend in the world. Oh, how he wanted to kiss him and hold him tight, never letting go. The thought alone made him feel dizzy.
But Brain had been working on this plan for surely many hours! And he still wasn’t finished!
He was beginning to believe Brain would never complete his blueprint, especially since he hadn’t moved his oversized pencil in a few minutes. All he was doing was staring at the paper, eyes scanning the writing on it repeatedly. The only other motions from his face were the slight turning of his head from side to side and the occasional way his lips upturned into a slight scowl. He looked so focused.
And it was driving Pinky crazy.
The small shifts of his body made the lanky mouse antsy; he tried standing still to watch but he fidgeted in his spot instead. Every time Pinky noticed Brain’s mouth lift, he felt a sensational feeling in his stomach very much akin to butterflies. He bit his lower lip in an attempt to prevent his romantic thoughts from spilling out. That bite forced him to let out a light squeak, barely silencing him.
He really wanted a kiss from Brain. Right now. It only had to be one! He’d do anything to satisfy the ticklies in his tummy!
Taking in a deep breath, Pinky strolled a little bit closer to where Brain was seated, being able to make out the sketches on the paper. He hovered over his partner with slight curiosity and eagerness, hoping with all his heart that he’d agree to just one little smooch. He placed his paws on Brain’s shoulders, taking note of how his boyfriend stopped moving and how he seemed to relax. “Narf! Oh Brain! Are you almost done with your plan-thingy? It’s been hours and hours! I’m getting tired and you’re not doing anything!”
Brain took his eyes off his blueprints and glanced and Pinky, slightly groaning. He placed the oversized pencil on the ground before responding. “Pinky, it’s only been twenty minutes since I began. If you’re so bored, then you can go read a magazine or watch T.V. But I’m working on tonight’s plan, and I don’t want to be disturbed by your inane comments or temper tantrums.” He returned his focus to the paper in front of him without saying anything else.
It had only been twenty minutes? Egad, it felt like a million-billion hours!
Pinky was slightly relieved that it hadn’t been too long, but he still felt those lovey-dovey-magical-fluttery feelings swirling inside. He needed a kiss, so he could respect Brain’s wishes and not bother him for much longer. Then he’d go do something else. He promised Brain that.
“But Brain, I just wanted to ask for a…mhmmm…” His hold on Brain shifted from his shoulders to the sides of his face. Yet he kept on stuttering. Those words he wanted to say wouldn’t come out, though he was really trying.
Brain looked at him again, a quizzical expression shown prominently on his face. “Ask for what exactly, Pinky?”
“Can I just have one little kiss before I go? Zort. Please, Brainy?”
Whew! He’d said it. That wasn’t so hard!
Pinky felt a blush creeping onto his face, a sheepish smile forming rapidly. Asking for kisses wasn’t exactly the simplest task. It was always a guess with what Brain would say about kissing during a plan. Sometimes it was a yes, sometimes it was a no. That’s just how it worked. But he really wanted it to be yes this time.
However, the previous excitement faded away a little when Brain’s face contorted into a sharp frown, his eyebrows turned downward.
“Pinky, not now. I’m working on my plan still and I need to concentrate. You know the rules for world domination plans. I can’t have any distractions, even ones from you. We can do that after tonight.” Brain moved from Pinky and turned around, back facing his companion as he returned to his musings.
His ears drooped and his heart sank like the Titanic. After tonight was such a long time to wait for a kiss! He couldn’t not think about kisses until that point. He needed Brain’s love now! He’d been so patient already!
Without a moment’s hesitation, Pinky wrapped his arms around his lover and held him firmly, whimpering and whining. “Please, Brain? I only want one before the you do the plan. Just one! Is that too much to ask for? We’re boyfriends! We’re supposed to do that! Please?”
A growl was elicited from Brain. He removed Pinky’s paws from him and stood up, an annoyed expression on his face, despite the slight reddish glow on his cheeks. “No, Pinky! Affection and kissing can wait until later. Plans come first! Now, go and leave me be! You’ve already distracted me enough.”
The taller mouse backed off from Brain, giving the shorter mouse enough room to settle back down in front of his blueprints as he went back to pondering some more. While Pinky felt a little bad about making his bestest friend so angry with his pleas, he knew that Brain probably wanted kisses as much as he did.
Suddenly, a rezvelation popped into his head, causing him to perk up.
Brain was playing tough to get! Like in those movies with the teens and the popular kids trying to go after the athlete boys! He was so smart!
Pinky grinned at this, fondly snickering at the fact that Brain might have been attempting to flirt with him. But he couldn’t get away without a fight! Pinky needed a kiss from him. But Brain wasn’t playing fair. Pinky supposed that it was his turn to give it a try.
If Brain wanted to play a game, he would happily join in. It was a competition to see who could last the longest without kissing the other! What fun! Brain was already doing such a remarkable job! But it was time for Pinky to even the score!
Sighing contently with his happiness restored and a newfound confidence present, Pinky sauntered back over to Brain, adjusting his posture to appear more seductive and sultrier. He stuck out a hip, placed one paw on his shoulder, and moved the other one to cup Brain’s cheek. He chuckled quietly before starting his round in the game. Before he began, he made sure to change his voice a little so that Brain would notice.
“Hello, Brain. Fancy meeting you here at this hour. Poit!”
The megalomaniac grumbled, clear irritation lingering in his body language. “Pinky if you ask for an insipid kiss one more time, I swear I shall…”
Before he could finish, Pinky used his paw to turn Brain’s head to look at him, where he batted his eyelashes fervently and pursed out his lips in a pout.
He nearly dropped his suave composure when he saw Brain’s face change from displeasure into a flustered stare, his face turning a light red and eyes widening. Brain was doing a fine job of holding his ground! But he couldn’t lose the challenge! He wanted Brain to be the one to kiss him!
“Like what you see huh?” Pinky moved his body around, tail swishing. Carefully and slowly, he moved his paw from his hip to Brain’s shoulder, kneeling as he pulled himself closer to his boyfriend. “I’d say I’m quite a catch if I do say so meself. Which I just did.”
Brain swallowed heavily, his blush darkening in shade. He tried to regain his words, but they invaded him; he was practically tongue-tied. “Pinky…t-this i-is highly inappropriate for…the current…”
Pinky pressed a finger to Brain’s mouth, preventing him from saying anything further. “Shhh, no more talking. You’ll only ruin this for yourself. Troz. Your big words will only keep you from me longer.” He kept his tone low as he began toying with Brain’s ear, biting back a laugh when it twitched in response.
“A big, handsome, strong mouse such as you deserves all the love in the world. And I wanna give it to you. In more ways than one. Just let me have you, babe. I care about you, and I want you to be so very happy. I’ll make you happy, trust me, Brain.” He was nailing this. Brain was basically gasping for air, and he was as red as a tomato! Pinky stroked the fur on Brain’s chest, humming in approval at the soft moan Brain made in reply.
“W-what are you d-do-”
“Hush, hush, honey,” Pinky briefly moved a paw so his fingers could trace along the curvature of Brain’s face. When he touched Brain’s nose, the megalomaniac froze. “Let me do the talking for you. Your face is marvelous and absolutely gorgeous. Your eyes shine like the night sky. Well, more like a pretty sunrise but it’s not too far off. Someone could get lost in them if they stared too long. I know I have.”
“Y-you…h-have?”
His grasp on Brain increased as he advanced closer so their faces could be at level. “I’ve gotten lost many times in your eyes, Brain. They make me feel so special. And your nose is so perfect and round. What more could you want? Zort.”
As he continued to trace his fingers the fur on Brain chest, Pinky took his other paw and rested it on Brain’s cheek, using his thumb to rub it. “Are you a marshmallow, Brainy? Hard on the outside but melty and gooey and soft on the inside? It sure seems that way. I bet I can make that soft side come out and stay. If I try hard enough.”
Pinky nearly kissed Brain after he’d said that, especially after the whine Brain made, so high and stunned. He needed to keep going though, he needed the kiss.
Before returning his attention to his face, Pinky buried his face into Brain’s shoulder, lightly nipping at his collarbone. A small bite didn’t count as breaking rules according to Pinky. It wasn’t a kiss so he thought it would work enough! Brain made a quiet yelp after the nip, nearly causing Pinky to lose again.
But he would not give up.
Brain tried speaking up, but he could only muster a funny sound. Pinky took this is a sign to move onto something new, so he placed one paw on Brain’s while moving the other to tease Brain’s lips.
This would surely make Brain kiss him!
“Your lips are like clouds Brain. Has anyone ever told you that? They’re stunning and warm and gentle, like pillows almost. I would definitely like to put my lips against yours for a long time. Poit! It would be a magical experience for me. And hopefully for you too.” Pinky kept his hand lightly gliding across Brain’s lips for a while until he moved his paws back to Brain’s chest.
Brain was finally able to speak after Pinky’s touch left his face. “P-Pinky…what…did I s-say about a-asking f-for…kisses.”
“I know what you said, Brain. You said I couldn’t ask you about a kiss right now.” Pinky inched closer to his partner, sliding his fingers along Brain’s spine as their chests made contact. He could hear Brain’s breath hitch and his heartbeat was erratic, which caused him to smirk a little at what he’d done. “But you never said that I couldn’t do this stuff. The kind words, the touching, the teeny bites. I didn’t hear you say no to those. Narf! I know you love them.” He traced a finger under Brain’s chin and nuzzled his nose against Brain’s.
Brain shuddered, sweat forming on his forehead so quickly it was somewhat startling. “I-I guess…y-you make a… valid point.” He gave in a little, moving his paws to hold Pinky by the waist.
Oh, he was winning the game! Brain wasn’t playing tough! In fact, Pinky didn’t know what Brain was playing anymore, but he liked where it was going.
Pinky purred, moving both hands to rest on Brain’s cheeks again. He continued to keep his face close to Brain, feeling his partner’s quick breaths against his fur. “You’re so beautiful, darling. You sparkle like one of those pretty flowers. You smell like one too. Poit! If only you’d realize how special and important you are. But I can help with that.”
“Pinky…” Brain muttered, though his voice waivered as soon as he started. He unknowingly tugged the other mouse closer to him, their noses touching again.
Oooh Brain was about to break! Just a few more attempts to woo and the game would be over!
Pinky rested his forehead against Brain’s. He smiled a little before speaking in a flirty whisper. “I love you, Brain. I hope you know that. I love you more than life itself. I wanna hold you and squeeze you forever and ev-”
He was cut short when he felt a pair of lips crash into his own abruptly, leaving him in shock. The kiss was aggressive and needy, yet it still felt tender. Pinky sighed and moaned softly, reciprocating Brain’s affections with ease. He felt Brain’s paws travel from his waist to his chest as he deepened the kiss. It was utter bliss and a welcomed finish to Pinky’s intense seduction.
Brain pulled out to breathe, his face a pleasant crimson shade. Pinky was breathless, though he was also excited because he had finally gotten a kiss out of his grumpy bestest boyfriend. He gazed lovingly at Brain, who was smiling quite a bit.
“Was that enough to please you, my dear?” Brain spoke quietly, grabbing Pinky by the shoulders and holding him.
Pinky began to giggle, returning to his normal high-pitched voice. “Oh, it was amazing, Brain! I’m sooo happy! Poit!” He quickly kissed Brain’s cheek before adjusting his posture. “You can go back to working on your plan now. I promised I’d leave you alone after I got a kiss.”
He was prepared to get up and leave when his arms got firmly grasped. He was surprised when he saw Brain restraining him from moving, holding him in place. “Uhm, Brain? What are you doing?
The pink-eyed mouse looked super lovestuck. “I did say that before, yes. But I might have been mistaken in my priorities. I believe that you are certainly more important than the plan. So, uh…”
“What is it, Brain?”
Brain inhaled sharply. “So, I think we can hold off tonight’s escapade for a… few hours. It wouldn’t hurt me that much.”
Pinky gasped. “Naaaarf! Egad! Do you mean that you want to kiss some more? Not just because I asked?”
He nodded. “I believe that it will be an effective way for me to replenish my energy and also so I may spend some quality time with you. You only asked for one kiss, but I don’t want to give just one. You don’t deserve that. You are far too alluring currently, Pinky.”
“Braaaaain!” Pinky squealed, his face turning red as he pulled his boyfriend close. “You are just the sweetest and nicest and lovingest mouse alive! Troz! I would love more kisses. I always love that!”
“I’m glad you love me, Pinky. Even though you’re an imbecile, I suppose you are in fact my imbecile.” Brain pulled Pinky to him, and their noses became squished together. He held Pinky’s paws in his, intertwining their fingers. “And by Ptolemy’s sake, I am madly in love with you.”
Pinky swooned. “I’m madly in love with you too,” he murmured delicately so that only Brain would hear him.
Before either one could say anything more, Pinky and Brain’s lips met again for a longer and far more passionate kiss. Pinky felt all fluttery as he felt Brain’s body press against his. Pinky also melted inside when Brain was the one to produce a gentle noise. When they parted for a quick breath, Pinky wasted no time in placing his mouth against Brain’s again.
As they kissed and kissed, Pinky felt victorious. Mainly because he was getting kisses from his sweet and lovey-dovey Brain, but also because he’d won the game. Brain had kissed first! But he supposed that the feeling of a win came second to the real prize: having Brain truly love him so much. While Pinky knew that Brain was sometimes a tough and rough cookie, he also knew that Brain would always love him no matter what happened.
He was positive that Brain realized how much he loved him too.

can you write a story where pinky comforts brain after a bad day maybe😼😼
Brain tossed and turned, the gift of sleep failing to reach him yet again. Every time he tried to close his eyes, he’d open them again mere seconds later, wide awake without an inkling of tiredness. Even as Pinky slumbered soundly next to him, his quiet noises usually allowing Brain to drift off, he still couldn’t fall asleep.
And he knew exactly why.
His plan for tonight had been a complete disaster. Not in the traditional sense, nothing exploded or melted luckily. But still, something horrible had occurred that left him without words.
For the rest of the night.
He had constructed an idea involving him using public speaking as a means to motivate the world into following his rule. Brain was optimistic that he would be able to express his potent vocabulary to encourage millions to benefit the good of the world. Was it a little corny? Certainly. Though he presumed that the population would support someone looking out for them without much hassle in this melancholy society.
Why did he have to be so wrong?
As soon as he stepped to the podium to present his great speech that he’d been advertising and preparing for days prior, the crowd turned on him. Badly. He had only gotten to say a few words before chaos ensued. The jeers of the people mocking him were cruel and unjust. Callous and insulting. Almost ridiculous, yet still based in reality.
“Look at how small he is!”
“He’s clearly an idiot. His forehead is the size of my pickup truck!”
“Great! Another fat politician to manipulate us.”
“You’re ugly!”
“You are overweight. Really fat.”
“Shut up!”
“No one cares about you. Get off the stage you moron!”
Brain tried easing the people to continue his speech, but soon, items began being thrown at him. Vegetables, the free pens he handed out earlier, even dangerous things like chairs. The crowd was livid, and their harsh yells continued to ring loudly in Brain’s ears.
“Pointless idiot!”
“Overweight dumbass!”
“Loser with no life!”
He felt sick to his stomach, lightheaded and weak. His heart pounded in his chest, his breath becoming labored. These dreadful phrases just kept coming, over and over again. It almost became like a mantra of sorts. And all he could do was blankly stare and avoid the occasional object haphazardly thrown in his direction. Brain swallowed a lump in his throat, doing his best to not cry.
He was so lost until he heard a familiar voice speak over the microphone.
“Stop hurting Brain! He’s trying to help you! Can’t you see that? Poit! Just leave my boyfriend alone!”
Pinky was far too kind to try and assist him with calming the crowd. Brain felt a little better knowing his partner was on his side, defending him to the very end.
Unfortunately, his admittance of the two being romantically involved proved to be the nail in the coffin.
The people got aggressive, the shouting increasing to a deafening degree. They raised their fists and Brain could only whimper as he began hearing insults thrown at both him and Pinky.
“Homosexual garbage!”
“Your boyfriend is as ugly as you!”
“I thought you were pathetic before but now that I see you’re in a same-sex relationship, you suck even more.”
“Fa-”
And that’s when he heard it. The infamous f slur. Brain only recently came to terms with his sexuality and when he looked up the word, he was more than a little unnerved. This was the first time he’d been called it though. And it hurt.
He felt himself grow dizzy as the people began to chant the word aloud. It was maddening how inconsiderate and cruel the public could be, not even giving him a chance to show what he could do. Brain was so lost in emotions that he didn’t even realize he’d been pulled off the stage by Pinky, who was grasping onto his paw with a worried expression.
“Brain, are you alright? Brain?”
All he could do was nod, his eyes still widened in disbelief at what had just unfolded. Brain bit his lip as he felt Pinky’s hold on him increase in intensity.
“Don’t listen to them. Narf. They don’t know that you’re the bestest mouse on the planet and they don’t need to know. I love you, Brain. That’s all that matters.” Pinky kissed Brain’s head soothingly, attempting to comfort him to his best ability.
Brain blinked at his partner once, his mind still in a haze. Still, he tried to show Pinky that he’d helped, thought it wasn’t entirely accurate. “T-thanks Pinky. I’ll be fine. I promise.”
He wasn’t fine. That was the furthest thing from the truth.
The entire walk back to the lab was silent. While the duo walked with their fingers intertwined underneath a starry night sky, Brain averted his gaze from Pinky, trying to hide his upset state. Pinky didn’t even say anything to lighten the mood, which was completely unusual for him. When they’d reached their cage, Brain went to bed instantly with Pinky following suit not too long after.
It was only 10:00. He wasn’t even tired.
Time passed and Brain still could not sleep. Pinky was a naturally quick sleeper, so he was already out and would likely remain asleep for a long time. He turned around to face his companion’s calm form. His face softened out when he noticed how peaceful Pinky looked and the miniscule smile that graced his lips. Brain blushed a little; Pinky was extremely adorable when he slept.
And yet, he still didn’t feel any better about what had happened earlier. In fact, he felt even more distressed now.
Brain couldn’t believe that such vicious and abrasive comments existed, that people could even bother judging him before they knew him personally. Though he relinquished in the support that Pinky brought him, he still felt vulnerable, inferior. Like everyone else saw him as a disappointment.
He knew that these words wouldn’t leave his mind, at least not tonight. Brain needed to contemplate all that had occurred in a secluded area, away from prying eyes (Pinky specifically). So, deciding that sleep was out of the question, Brain sat up in the bed, pulling the blanket away from his body. He was careful as to not accidentally make a sound when exiting.
Things were going well so far. Hopefully Pinky wouldn’t notice the shift in weight on his side.
The short mouse stood up, freezing for a moment, and glancing back towards his friend, who was thankfully still asleep. Brain sighed in relief before he began to walk away from the bed. He took quiet steps, hoping that nothing would deter him from finding a place to hide and ponder. He needed this mental break.
Brain almost reached the cage door, preparing to pick the lock open with his crooked tail when he heard the bed creak behind him.
“Brain? Where are you going so late?”
Drat. He’d been caught dead in his tracks. What was he to do? Acknowledge Pinky’s question and fess up to everything? Ignore his partner and pretend that he didn’t hear him, which would absolutely cause tension in their relationship?
Not wanting to discuss with Pinky his emotional instability, he decided on the latter option, which he would definitely regret at a later time. Brain trudged farther away from Pinky, not responding to his question as he continued working on the lock.
“Are you okay? Zort. Is something bothering you?”
There was no stopping him, was there? He didn’t really have a choice. Pinky would be adamant about knowing what was up and would not silence easily. Groaning in annoyance but putting on a look of contentment, he turned around to face Pinky, who looked extremely concerned and unsure.
“Uhm…everything’s alright Pinky.” Brain slowly moved away from the cage door, trying not to reveal any of the thoughts that were currently invading his mind. He came up with a quick lie to further sway his companion. “I was just heading back to bed after…uh…taking a last look at my notes for tomorrow’s plan. Nothing to fret over. Go to sleep.”
Pinky quirked an eyebrow, not buying Brain’s fib in the slightest. He sat up from the bed and began walking slowly towards the megalomaniac. “I don’t believe you. You look all scowly and sad. Is something wrong? Do you wanna talk about it?”
Brain felt himself stall as Pinky approached him. Curse his inability to lie in a stressful situation. Pinky had seen right through his façade. His friend’s emotional intelligence was truly befuddling.
“I assure you that I’m fine as I stand currently. You…you don’t have to worry about me at all. We don’t have to discuss anything.” He tried backing away from Pinky, but his legs just wouldn’t move. It’s like he was stuck in place. “Really, Pinky. It’s fine. We can just return to the bed and prepare for tomorrow night. Everything’s just great.”
The taller mouse shook his head, maintaining his watch on Brain’s now anxious face. He continued to walk towards him, almost demandingly.
“Zort. You’re lying Brain. I can tell. Is this about what happened earlier at your speech thingy?”
Oh no. He knew about that. He’s understood that Brain hadn’t been okay after the failed plan. Pinky knew. How he’d known was not a question that Brain was worried about. Rather it was the fact that sooner or later, he’d need to fess up to Pinky about what had truly been happening.
Brain halted, fighting back against the sudden increase in emotions rising within him. He was at his breaking point; guess he just had to come clean now. There was no way out. “Alright, you got me.” Brain started, his voice laced with sarcasm, anger, aggression, and a little sorrow. “That whole entire speech plan was a failure. And for once, it was for something that wasn’t exactly my fault. That sounds great, right? Well, it’s not.” Brain’s face fell, his breath hitching before he resumed. “For once, a plan failed because of things I claim I can control, but I actually can’t. Those people only saw the worst parts of me. Ones I’ve been trying to alter for years now so that I may appeal to the masses. I finally go out as myself and look where that got me! People threw produce in my direction. I got called offensive names. Just for my looks. And, Pinky, just face it, I believe their statements were accurate.”
Pinky gasped, running over to Brain quickly before attempting to console him by placing his paws on Brain’s shoulders. “Brain. You know that what those people said was just stupid. You know that. I care about you…”
“You don’t understand, Pinky! You’ll never understand these hardships I’ve had to go through my entire life!” He pulled away from his companion, his agitation increasing rapidly and his tone raising to an agitated shout.
“Look at this.” He gestured towards his body, trying to get his point across by all means necessary. “I’m overweight, pathetic, and no one cares about me. I’m judged before I’m even given a chance to do something for the greater good. People hate me for simply existing. It’s not like you where you walk into a room, and everyone instantly wants to be your friend. I work harder than anyone to gain appreciation for the things I do, and it never works out in my favor. Others just see me as a chubby loser with no meaning in life.”
“Brain, I sometimes don’t feel good about meself too. Narf. I don’t just walk into a room and make friends, at least for the most part. And you are not a loser. You are incredible and smart and super handsome…”
“Just listen!” He cut Pinky off again, though he didn’t even care about hearing what Pinky had to say; he needed to get this off his chest before it caused him to collapse internally. “Don’t you understand what they called us at the speech? When you tried defending me, they hated me even more simply because I’m in a relationship with someone of my exact gender. I’ve only recently accepted that side of myself, and I’m already being put down for it. I just…I can’t…”
A garbled sob slipped out. Brain allowed a few tears to run down his face. His control over himself was gradually dissipating. He only felt worse when he saw Pinky’s upset expression, tears pricking the corners of his eyes. Things were escalating. And Brain wasn’t done yet.
“I’m worthless, Pinky! I fail at everything I do! It’s how the world sees me apparently. And everyone was right. I’m just a pretentious, moronic, useless, stupid fa-”
He was silenced, not by his own volition, but by Pinky forcibly pushing him to the floor, restraining him with his own body. He was about to respond in alarm before he felt lips press against his own. This kiss was aggressive and messy yet still tender and calming. Brain closed his eyes as he accepted all of Pinky’s intense feelings which seemed to transfer between their connected mouths. He held onto his partner’s back tightly, moaning softly as the kiss deepened.
Pinky was the one to part for air, Brain huffing heavily after the unexpected kiss. He and Pinky sat up, still gasping for breath. But before he could process what happened, he was grabbed by the shoulders as Pinky stared at Brain face-to-face, with a look that could only be described as enraged.
“No, no, NO!! Brain, you DO NOT say those awful words to yourself or to me! Poit! You are NOT any of those things you said. Not even close!! And you DO NOT CALL YOURSELF THAT HORRIBLE WORD!! I looked up what it means on the Goggle site earlier and it’s most definitely not okay to call yourself that unless you’re positive about it! You are incredible and amazing, and I love you so much! Troz! You don’t deserve those meany-mean people’s attention! Do you understand?!” Pinky yelled, louder than he’d ever yelled before.
Brain wasn’t expecting Pinky to be this hostile with him, but he wasn’t entirely opposed to it. His friend’s kind but firm words made him feel a little better, though he continued to hold in tears.
Pinky seemed to notice this, moving his paws to cup Brain’s cheeks and rub them gently. His angry scowl turned into a soft smile as he inhaled and calmed down. “If it makes you feel any better, I don’t think you’re overweight. I like your chubby head and belly. They’re so much fun to squish! Zort!” He nuzzled Brain’s nose, causing the pink-eyed mouse to blush again. “Those people don’t see what I see in you, Brain. But their opinion doesn’t matter. As long as I love you, that’s all that matters to me.”
Brain held his breath, trying to hold in a very aggressive outburst. Pinky was truly his everything, his world. But he still felt this nasty feeling inside. Like even though he had his partner, it still wasn’t enough.
As if Pinky had read his mind, he pulled Brain closer, placing a small peck on his temple. “I can tell you’ve been holding in a lot recently.”
All Brain could do was sit without words, still attempting to contain his feelings.
“You don’t have to hold back for me, love. Let it out. You’ll feel much better when you do.”
Overcome with emotions that were becoming too much for him to bear, Brain proceeded to bury his face into Pinky’s chest, sobbing hard. He was so exhausted of all those horrific words poisoning his thoughts. Still, he was relieved that Pinky didn’t care about him allowing him to let himself go a bit. He held onto his companion like his life depended on it.
Pinky calmed Brain, lovingly tracing his fingers through Brain’s fur, and whispering soft, comforting words in his ear, hoping it would help. Luckily, it seemed to be working.
As Brain continued to bawl, he couldn’t help but feel as if not all these tears were as a result of what those people had said. Some were certainly from the fact that Pinky was still with him, aiding him with all these problems and loving him boundlessly. He was so grateful for Pinky. Especially at times like this.
After what seemed like hours, Brain sighed, his built-up feelings fading away slowly, but surely. He hummed, pulling his head from Pinky, and staring into his partner’s soft blue gaze. He sniffed a little before allowing himself a light smile.
Pinky took this as a sign that Brain was finished crying. He placed his paws on Brain’s cheeks, scrubbing the excess tears off with his thumb. “Are you feeling better now, Brain? Poit. Are all those nasty-wasty feelings gone?” he asked delicately, his voice in a faint whisper.
Once again reduced to silence, albeit because of entirely different reasons, Brain could only nod once before he pushed himself forward, resting his face into Pinky’s chest once again, but this time in a tight embrace. Almost instantly, he began to place kisses along his companion’s body, anywhere he could reach. Pinky reacted appropriately, breaking out into fervent giggles as the two fell to the floor.
“Braaaaaaaaain!” Pinky’s entire face was red in a deep blush, his smile bright. “What are you doing?”
Brain smirked suggestively at Pinky, brushing his fingers along his partner’s fur as he briefly stopped kissing him to respond. “Why, Pinky. I’m simply showing my appreciation for you in a way we both can comprehend.” He nuzzled his nose against Pinky’s chest, almost purring. It was primitive, but he couldn’t be bothered.
“Naaaaarrf!!” Pinky swooned, his breath catching as he exhaled as Brain continued to hold him close. He could hardly believe how snuggly Brain was being. His heartbeat became louder; he was positive that Brain could hear it now.
“I do hope this isn’t too much. Over-stepping your boundaries is something I never want to do to you, considering how much I care about you.” Brain was still a little insecure about his…romance skills. He never wanted to make Pinky feel uncomfortable.
“Of course not, Brain!” Pinky placed a soft kiss on Brain’s nose, causing the latter mouse’s face to flush darkly. “It’s perfect, darling. Please keep going!”
He happily obliged to Pinky’s request, grabbing his lover by the waist and continuing to show how much he truly loved him. Brain peppered kisses along the crook of Pinky’s neck and on his collarbone, making sure not to miss a single spot. It didn’t take him long to begin kissing Pinky’s face too, occasionally sneaking a peck onto Pinky’s lips to add an element of surprise.
Pinky burst into hysterics once more, his infectious laughter leading Brain to chuckle slightly in between kisses. “Oh, Brain! I’m so happy you’ll be okay! Troz!” He cupped Brain’s cheeks to stop him temporarily. “I love you.”
Brain couldn’t help but smile in Pinky’s tender hold. “I love you too,” he whispered gently, before pushing himself forward to begin kissing Pinky once more.
While he knew that others would hold him back and ridicule him, Brain was positive that Pinky would be there to love him and cherish him during all the harsh turmoil.
As long as Pinky loved him, the world would come to him someday.
No one could do anything about that.

My Secret Santa Project
This is my Secret Santa project for @sleepyrabbits You didn’t specify what characters you wanted, so here!! Take some Christmas Brinky fluff that I hope you enjoy!! Also, thank you so much for being one of my followers!!!!!!! It means so much to me and I couldn’t be happier!!! Enjoy your Christmas and I’m wishing you a happy new year too!!
Brain groaned for what felt like the 100th time, his temperament in its worst state it had been in quite a while. He sat crouched amongst the scattered blueprints and materials he had gathered to enact his most recent plan for world domination, which had failed in an elaborate fashion, again. The megalomaniac had hope that this plan would’ve been a smashing success, but, predictably, things soured rapidly.
This year’s Christmas plan had been to produce hypnotic cookies to sell in stores. The cookies would’ve flown off the shelves due to their cheap prices and Brain would have control of the world in an instant. Yes! Even if that hadn’t worked, Brain concocted a backup idea involving subliminal messaging in wrapping paper that said, “Obey Brain”. Surely having another plan in case of failure would guarantee success, right?
Wrong.
When Brain had tried to bake the cookies with the fluid needed to hypnotize the population, they had burned easily, and the treats tasted repulsive and dry, lacking any flavor. Even Pinky’s admittedly excellent baking skills couldn’t save the cookies from disaster. Brain ended up flying into a rage, tossing the dozens of baked goods in the trash can immediately after trying them. Pinky had attempted to comfort him, saying that they could always just make more, but Brain, rather than listen, just decided to execute plan two.
Which also failed. Even quicker than plan one.
Turns out, Acme Labs’s new high-tech printer was broken, and it wouldn’t be fixed until next week. Drat. After receiving that crushing news, Brain moved on to writing out the subliminal messages by hand, but the words he wrote were not hidden in the slightest. In fact, they were so obvious to the naked eye, that they couldn’t be classified as subliminal at all. This was not thought out well for possible hindrances such as a busted printer.
This year’s Christmas plans were by far the worst he’d ever assembled. Brain didn’t even reach the marketing phase for his cookies, despite that secretly being his favorite part of any “advertise something to the general public” scheme. It was enjoyable to spend some time with Pinky, where they could put their creative minds together to make an advertising campaign millions would remember. And it wasn’t just because Pinky was his non-platonic partner now and Brain wanted to be close to him for an elongated period of time.
Definitely not that. At all.
The shorter mouse had retreated to his planning corner to sulk after the wrapping paper debacle. He needed to escape from all the woes and predicaments that were piling on top of him. He did find it rather odd that Pinky didn’t pursue him instantaneously, but it was a small blessing. Even though Brain really…tolerated Pinky, sometimes his lanky companion could prove a little overbearing for his mindset. This peaceful escape from the hassle of his newest plight was what he needed. Yet, he still felt miserable.
Another Christmas wasted on failed plans. Just like last year. And the year before.
Brain peered at the unorganized pile of blueprints that sat in front of him. He had made them for his Christmas cookie plan, but they went unused for the most part. Now, the paper just felt like it was taunting him. Invading his soul almost. Whispering to him negative thoughts about his recent disappointment.
You didn’t take over the world? How stupid are you?
You didn’t even manage to get to the execution stage!
You are pathetic!
Brain growled, way louder than he intended to, all the anger building inside him. It wasn’t long before he began ripping up the blueprints in a blind fury and tossing them everywhere. The pieces of paper were scattered all over the counter, every which way. He’d need to clean this up later.
The megalomaniac fell onto his knees following his little meltdown, slamming his fists into the countertop surface. He winced at the ensuing pain but didn’t pay that much mind to it. Brain felt a lump form in his throat, though he quickly pushed that feeling away.
Crying was not allowed. Especially for something so meaningless.
Brain took a few steadying breaths, attempting to subdue his rampant emotions. It thankfully worked rather well, for his mind steadied. Though, the lingering guilt that he had pushed aside Christmas with Pinky for a disastrous world domination idea remained intact. Why, again, had he ruined something else that could positively impact his own life?
Poor, sweet, innocent Pinky. An opportunity for quality time was squandered; instead, he was toiling away with mediocre fantasies of world conquest.
The pink-eyed mouse buried his face within his paws, ears drooping, sighing repeatedly as if that would aid in his misery. Brain felt so hopeless, so exhausted, bizarrely cold. He even felt unloved, which was strange since he had a companion of romantic interest. All the warmth of the holiday season never seemed to find him through the many years he’d been enacting plans.
The dreary nature of the situation was just about to pull Brain to a likely cumbersome slumber, until he felt a gentle touch on his left shoulder, tugging him out of his brooding state. He lifted his head from his paws to meet the understanding gaze of his partner. Why did Pinky always have to appear in his worst and bleakest moments?
“Oh, Brain. It’s alright. Narf! No need to be sad over a silly little plan. You’ll make another, even better one tomorrow night!”
A soft smile formed on Brain’s lips. He reached his arm back towards his shoulder, using his paw to cover Pinky’s. “I’m fine, my friend. Just a little distressed about this whole ordeal. I apologize for concerning you.” Brain moved his grasp from Pinky, choosing to look away from him, retreating into his own personal space once more. Pinky’s hold never left his shoulder.
The other mouse’s gentle face fell to one of confusion and concern. “Well, you don’t look fine to me, Brainy. Poit! You seem tense. I mean look at you! You’re all tight and scowly and your shoulders are hunched up and…”
Brain turned around and placed his paw on Pinky’s mouth, silencing him. “Yes, Pinky. I’m fully aware of my appearance right now.” He shifted from his companion, pulling his paw from his friend’s face hastily. But before recoiling fully, he placed a small peck on Pinky’s nose, hoping that would be enough to shut him up. It thankfully did the trick. At least to halt the uncomfortable conversation that would have likely unfolded had he not done anything.
Pinky swooned dreamily, letting go of Brain for a moment to dance and twirl around the space in an irregular pattern, his paws held close to his chest. Little cartoony hearts formed around his head, circling rapidly and his tail formed into the shape of a heart, which surprisingly wasn’t that uncommon. “Egad! Naaaaaaaarf!” he purred; his voice breathless.
Brain couldn’t help but smirk a tad and role his eyes at Pinky’s overly dramatic display. It was ridiculous, but somewhat sweet, he presumed. He allowed his mind to wander a bit, while Pinky continued to prance around in a lovestruck daze. The shorter mouse was only pulled back into reality when he felt Pinky nuzzling his nose gently, holding him by both shoulders now. Brain’s face went red.
Desperate to end this romantic moment, Brain struck up a question that had been persistent ever since Pinky had arrived at his planning corner.
“Did you go seeking me out for a reason or did you just come to boost my spirits?”
Pinky pulled away from Brain, a radiant expression evident on his face. “Both, actually! Troz!”
“And do tell what exactly you wanted to inform me, Pinky. Just make it hasty, I’m still downtrodden about tonight’s failure.”
The taller mouse clapped enthusiastically. “Oh, Brain! I can’t tell you! It’s a surprise! You just haaaaaave to wait and see!”
Brain’s usual scowl returned. Great. Another one of Pinky’s “surprises.” Whenever Pinky told him that something was a surprise, he was always met with something extremely peculiar and not catered to his liking; from a horrendous bootleg movie to an ice cream party that had already melted by the time they’d arrived at the cage. Surely, this would not be any different.
“Pinky, I’m not so sure about this. Remember the last time you lured me into one of your ‘surprises?’” He gestured to the unusual kiss shaped scar on his forearm, likely the most dangerous and bizarre incident by far.
Pinky’s face turned tomato red, and he giggled energetically. “Of course I remember! That was the bestest bad surprise good surprise ever! Zort! And may I say, that is the cutest scar I’ve ever seen, darling! He traced his fingers over the specific mark, causing Brain’s fur to temporarily stand on end and a pleasant warmth to invade his senses. His heart was about to burst.
“T-thank you, Pinky.” Brain struggled to force any harsh words out. “But I still don’t exactly believe that whatever you have in store for me is exactly safe per say.”
Pinky got on his knees and grabbed Brain’s shoulders in a forceful manner, quite unlike his usual demeanor. Obviously, Pinky wasn’t going to be deterred from his goal. “Puh-lease Brain?! I promise that this is a good surprise and that you’ll really, really like it! Please? Pretty please with sprinkles and caramel and chocolate and whipped cream on top?” Pinky begged loudly, putting on his best pouty eyes. He even whimpered a tad and his lip quivered for added effect.
Brain stared into Pinky’s soft blue eyes. He swore there were stars in them since they seemed to sparkle in radiance. His cheeks flushed a deep shade of maroon and heat pooled in his cheeks. Pinky was a master manipulator. Especially when he was trying to convince Brain to do something mundane. He just couldn’t resist, no matter how hard he attempted to ignore Pinky.
“Alright,” Brain sighed, subduing his sanity to Pinky’s little pleading. “But if something else explodes, you’ll be receiving more than just a bop on the head.”
Pinky cheered, jumping up and down excitedly. “Yay! You are going to love it! Narf! I know it with all my little heart, Brain!” He then stared at the shorter mouse, a flirty, seductive, and mischievous look in his eyes. “But I wouldn’t mind you giving me something more than a bop on the head if you know what I mean. Hint, hint! Zort!” Pinky winked and batted his eyelashes at Brain, his tail moving precariously from side-to-side before he began laughing hysterically.
Brain took a moment to ponder, until eventually realizing what exactly Pinky thought he had suggested. His entire face turned beet red and sweat began to form on his forehead. His eyes widened in utter shock and his mind spiraled as he became a flustered mess. It took him nearly ten seconds to regain his composure.
“That’s n-not what I m-meant, P-Pinky.” Brain choked on his own words, forcing himself to halt his stuttering for fear of embarrassment. “Let’s just forget…that… and move along to your little ‘surprise,’ whatever that might entail.” He was relieved that he had calmed down so fast, especially after…what Pinky had tried to imply.
The taller mouse grinned sheepishly. “Oh, right. Almost forgot Whoopsies!” He pulled Brain towards him and held his paw tightly, intertwining their fingers. “Close your eyes, sweetheart!”
Brain welcomed Pinky’s proximity and the handholding, but he still wasn’t prepared for whatever Pinky had in store. “I’m not exactly sure about this…”
“Ha, Brain! No take backsies! Troz! You promised!” Pinky sing-songed, pressing a finger to Brain’s lips, stifling his judgement. Brain groaned; there was no turning back now.
“Very well. Lead me to your inane drivel. But on one condition: do not run with me in tow. I appreciate your enthusiasm, but I’ve had enough injuries this week.”
“But I’m not a truck, Brain.”
“I know you’re not a truck, Pinky. Just don’t go off sprinting while we are…uhm.” Brain pointed to their interlaced fingers.
Pinky’s puzzled expression changed to joy again after seeing their paws together. “Got it. No running! I’m going to keep my sweeter-than-sweet bestest boyfriend ever all nice and safe for his surprise!” He gently stroked Brain’s cheek.
Boyfriend? That was new. Pinky had never called him his boyfriend before.
Brain’s face heated up again; his entire body felt warm. Smirking contently, Brain closed his eyes, putting all his trust with his boyfriend friend. He only expected that he wouldn’t fall off the counter, per Pinky’s words.
It didn’t take too long for him to feel Pinky pulling his paw in the direction of wherever this little treat for him was. Brain took steady steps, making sure not to trip and take his partner down with him. He was quite astonished at how slow and gentle Pinky’s movements were; he went through with his earlier proclamation in strides. Brain never felt uncomfortable in any way as the two journeyed together. Occasionally, he felt his arm be jerked to the left or right, most likely due to an obstacle they came upon being avoided by Pinky’s swift reflexes. Dare he say it, he was impressed by the taller mouse’s knack for following instructions given to him.
He was so distracted by how peaceful everything was currently, aside from an occasion chuckle elicited by Pinky, that he stumbled on what felt like the entrance to their cage. Brain’s grasp on Pinky’s paw tightened as he felt his feet almost give way, causing the megalomaniac to almost open his eyes. Pinky helped to steady him, pulling him up again after their near fall.
“Are you okay?” Pinky asked gently.
Brain made sure his eyes were still closed. “Yes, I’m alright. Nothing to worry about, Pinky.”
“M-sorry, Brain. I forgot all about that nasty step. Poit! Silly me! Don’t worry, we’re almost there.”
He then continued to guide Brain, who thankfully didn’t receive too much of a startle from the slip. But as they kept moving, Brain was sensing a shift in lighting and a change in temperature. He also began to smell…peppermint? And…evergreen? What exactly did Pinky have planned?
Pinky let go of his hand after a little while, his footsteps indicating that he was seemingly dashing away somewhere. “Stay right there, Brain!” he heard his partner call out to him. Brain didn’t bother trying to go anywhere, who knows what he could’ve run into.
“Okay! You can open your eyes now!”
Brain followed Pinky’s request, opening his eyes gently, his curiosity piqued. What he was met with was…shocking to say the least.
“Surprise! Narf! So, whaddya think?”
The cage had been transformed from a mundane living space into a Christmas-y winter wonderland. There was a small Christmas tree with glistening ornaments and twinkling multi-colored lights. Peppermint and pine scented candles wafted their pleasant aromas in the air. Candy canes were lined in a neat little row and there was a while powdery substance everywhere that looked remarkably like snow. He even heard Frank Sinatra’s Christmas album A Jolly Christmas playing in the background, the crooner’s golden voice accenting the display in front of him perfectly.
Of course, Pinky knew about his little crush infatuation with Frank Sinatra and the fact that he’d listened to his Christmas album every year.
Brain was awestruck at all the colors and spectacle. His eyes widened and he felt his chest swell. It was such a tonal shift from the previously dreary laboratory, to suddenly be thrown into a bright and festive scenario. He couldn’t fathom that Pinky had done all of this, just for him. Granted, he felt a tad bit of shame for not being able to decorate on his own, but he was grateful that he had such a caring and considerate partner.
“Brain! Do you like it? Is it amazingly amazing like I hoped it would be? Hello?”
He snapped out of his astonished trance, Pinky’s confused face only inches away from his. Brain didn’t even bother to back away; he was currently just too dazed to pay attention to their vicinity. “It’s…it’s nice, Pinky. Yes. Really nice.” A faint blush formed on his cheeks.
Pinky was ecstatic. “I knew you’d just love-love-love it! Poit!” He placed his paws on Brain’s shoulders, squeezing them ever so lightly. “Can I show you around? I spent all night working on this for you, Brain!”
“Feel free, my friend. I’ve got nothing better to do.” Brain sardonically remarked, though he smiled ever so slightly to indicate he was still in a pleasant mood.
His lanky companion squealed in delight, before guiding Brain around the display, happily bouncing the entire time. Brain couldn’t help but relinquish in Pinky’s boundless energy; he was always so cheery. That was somewhat appealing to him.
Pinky first showed off the Christmas tree, which Brain had to admit was very well decorated. The ornaments weren’t haphazardly thrown around, rather they were intricately placed in neat little rows on the tree’s branches. Even the tinsel was wrapped around properly, though the star on top was a little crooked. Not like he was going to nitpick, but it was just something he noticed.
“Here’s the tree! Spent all week looking for teeny-tiny ornaments. Troz! But I finally found some when you were baking those cookies. I even made my own out of those little yummy puff pastries in the drawer, Brain. Isn’t it be-you-ti-ful?” the blue-eyed mouse gestured to his manufactured ornament, which was simply just a piece of circular cardboard covered in cotton balls. However, they were aligned in such a way to where it resembled…them? The little red pom-poms glued to two of the cotton balls certainly indicated that.
Brain flushed a little at Pinky’s attempt to replicate them in an ornament, though it wasn’t executed in the best way. Pinky seemed to notice his telltale blush, smiling even bigger than before.
“It’s us! Aren’t we just the cutest ornament couple ever! And you little nose is so adorable, babe! I just wanna squish it!” Pinky pulled Brain into a slight hug.
“You’ve captured our likenesses…decently Pinky. I applaud you on your efforts and I am endeared by your generosity.” Brain felt the room heat up. Things were getting far too intimate for his personal liking. “Let’s move on.”
Next, Pinky pointed out the candy canes that were lined in a row, which he insisted had not been licked once. Brain wasn’t convinced since his companion seemed to bashfully look off to the side when he’d told him that. Sure enough, he inspected closer and saw saliva along the edge of two of the candy canes. Why was he not surprised?
“You’re probably wonderin’ how I made the snow, Brain. Zort!” Pinky diverted Brain’s attention to one of the many piles of “snow” scattered about. He picked up a clump of it and threw it in the air, causing Brain to sneeze a little.
“Pinky, what is this stuff?” Brain scoffed in between sneezes. He investigated the substance closer, noticing the unusual fine, gritty texture. The powder also smelled, strangely sweet.
“It’s powdered sugar! The perfect snow substitute!” Pinky said like he was advertising the powder. He put the pile of it down and happily licked his fingers of the excess, chuckling all the way. “It’s so yummy AND festive! Naaaaaaaaarrf!”
Brain couldn’t help but be just a tad confused. There was powdered sugar everywhere; why was there so much? “If I may ask, how did you obtain this much powdered sugar, Pinky? I didn’t notice any new charges on the lab’s credit card over the past few days, aside from ones I made.”
The taller mouse silenced Brain playfully, crossing his arms and shaking his head. “No, no, Brain! A decorator never reveals their seacrates. No matter what anyone else says.”
Why did he even bother with Pinky anymore?
The megalomaniac rolled his eyes at his companion’s mindless comment, before noticing something below the Christmas tree. It was a box, covered in mismatched wrapping paper that wasn’t fully covering the package. There was a little bow and a tag that read“4 Brain!” with a little heart on top, meaning it was for him.
His heart fluttered when he noticed the gift, mainly because he didn’t expect Pinky to get him anything this year. Brain felt a little guilty that he hadn’t spent time preparing a present for his partner, but his world domination plans had taken every waking though of his.
“Pinky,” Brain spoke softly as he struggled to control his steadfast heart rate. “Th-that gift under the tree over there. Is it…did you get that for me?” He held his breath for a moment.
“Of course it’s for you! Poit!” Pinky walked over to where Brain was standing, linking their arms together. “I wrote your name on the tag! D’you think I met some other smarty-smart dashing mouse named Brain yesterday and he just happened to become my bestest boyfriend? And I thought I was the dumb one!”
Brain felt his face turn a soft pink at Pinky’s proclamation. Even though it was slightly annoying that Pinky questioned his intelligence for a moment, he presumed that his friend had good intentions.
“I don’t suppose you’d mind if I opened the gift then. I’m quite interested to see what exactly you got me.” He could only guess that it was going to be another pencil with the eraser bitten off, or a moldy piece of bread that Pinky so happily called “French toast.”
The lanky mouse giggled, suppressing some kind of intense positive outburst. “Go ahead, love! I really think I’ve outdone meself this year!”
He really didn’t want to open it now, considering Pinky’s giddy reaction to him asking about it was so suspicious. But he decided to, for his companion’s sake. It wouldn’t hurt that much to get something outlandish.
With slight hesitation, Brain trudged over to the tree, pulling the decently sized present from under it. He was surprised by the weight of the box; he could not lift it. What on earth was in here?
Brain was just about to pull the top of the box open when Pinky called out to him, causing the smaller mouse to jump in shock.
“Brain! Troz! Wait! Narf! You should read this first!” Pinky panted heavily, handing Brain a piece of paper. The front had a crude drawing of Pinky giving Brain a hug, the two being surrounded by red and green colored hearts.
Brain smiled a little at the drawing, but he grew apprehensive about reading the letter. Pinky’s writing was infamously illegible and misspelled words always graced the page. He’d adapted to reading his companion’s atrocious handwriting, but a certain something else caused him alarm.
The last letter he’d read from Pinky around Christmastime was…let’s just say it raised a lot of unfamiliar emotions within Brain. He wanted to look at it when Pinky wasn’t around, mostly so he wouldn’t see any intense reactions that the megalomaniac elicited. “I don’t think I should read this now…”
“Nope!” Pinky interrupted. “Read it, please! The gift will make sense afterward! I pinky promise. Cross my paws and hope to poit!”
“Fine.” Brain groaned, there was no discouraging Pinky after his sacred vow. He opened the letter; he was intrigued by how many words were on the page. And, while not perfect, Pinky’s handwriting was very neat, and it appeared that the spelling was competent.
He must’ve spent a lot of time writing this.
Pinky perked up for a moment. “By the way, I used my handy-dandy spellchecker to write this for you, Brain. I wanted everything to be as perfect as you are!”
Blush arose in Brain’s cheeks, not only from the sincere compliment, but since he now knew that Pinky had used the spellchecker that he’d gotten for him all those years ago. He sighed once and began reading.
Dearest Brain,
Hello! Ha-ha! Narf!
This insipid phrase again? Not a very telling sign.
Listen, I know I’m not the best at words, especially since I’m not the brightest bulb in the shed if you know what I mean. But I just want to say, when we became a happier-than-happy couple, I almost couldn’t believe it! I’ve known you for years and years, Brain. I feel like I know you better than I know myself.
What.
You’re hard-working, honest, smart, kind, caring, and extremely handsome. I adore your big chubby head and your smarty-smartness and your funny words and your sleeping noises. You’re my bestest friend, even if we fight and you bop me on the head and yell. By the way, the bops don’t bother me and whenever you yell, your gorgeous voice makes me swooooooon!
Oh.
I hate it when you get neglected for your attempts to take over the world. You get so sad and that makes me sad. But you never give up and that’s amazing! I want you to succeed, Brain. I want you to do it so badly. You deserve a happily ever after, more than anyone else.
Oh.
Even if you don’t rule the world, I would have lived the greatest life because you were with me. You mean everything to me, and I love you so, so much.
Love? Truly?
If there is one mouse I’d want to spend my forever with, it would be you. It was always you, even during our fights and non-talking time.
Was that all he wanted? To spend a lifetime together?
You’ll always be my chubby hubby, even if we never marry, which is fine! Your decision! But I hope, I’m all yours because you are all mine, every day of the month and year and hour!
Why, Pinky?
Love your #1 boyfriend,
Pinky
PS: When you hold me and kiss me, I feel like I’ve conquered the world. Poit!
PPS: I LOVE YOU, BRAIN!
The words hit him like a freight train at full speed. As Brain kept reading the letter, he felt his mind turn to mush and his heart ache to a painful degree. He sensed a lump forming in his throat, tears pricking his eyes at such a rapid pace. When the letter ended with his partner happily proclaiming to be his number one boyfriend, he sniffed once, trying with all his might to push away the tears. And when Pinky added on that when Brain kissed him and held him, he felt like he’d conquered the world, Brain let a quiet sob slip out.
He read the letter repeatedly, each time he could feel the love Pinky had added to it within his chest. The excess moisture in his eyes fell, with him making no attempt to cease. It had been such a rough day, but his incredible boyfriend remedied all his sorrows.
Yes, boyfriend.
It felt fitting to call him that.
Brain was so lost in his mixed emotions that he almost forgot about the actual present entirely. At least until Pinky reminded him.
“Brain.” Pinky spoke so delicately, like he knew that Brain would’ve reacted this way. “Don’t you wanna open the present? Narf! It’s very important.”
He could only stare at Pinky’s gentle expression, the tears flowing continuously. “S-sure. I g-guess it w-wouldn’t hurt.” He struggled with forcing any coherent words to be said.
The pink-eyed mouse pulled the lid off the box and pushed the colorful tissue paper out of the way. The first item he saw was all too familiar, yet he thought it was gone forever. It was a small keychain with a globe on one end. It sparkled radiantly in the light. He picked it up and gasped.
“Pinky, is this…?”
“Yes, Brain. I found your globe keychain last week! In a cabinet, behind those heavy books you read all the time. I thought it would be such an amazing surprise to give it to you again, just because I know how much you love it! Troz!”
“I thought I lost this.” Brain felt lightheaded. He could only gape at the keychain that meant the most to him. It just vanished a while ago, and at first, he pretended like he didn’t care. But secretly, he’d ran to a secret corner of the lab and cried his eyes out, devastated that he’d lost Pinky’s precious gift to him. And now, his companion had given him the thing that symbolized their relationship. His goals and desires. “T-thank you Pinky. I-I’m grateful for…” He felt another sob coming, but Brain pushed back.
“That’s not all that’s in there.” Pinky leaned over Brain’s shoulder, pointing to the box. Brain returned to searching through the paper, finding something else indeed.
It was a locket, a red heart shaped one. It looked really expensive and very high quality. Brain was tremendously impressed.
Pinky pet Brain’s head gently. “Truth is, I might’ve used the lab card for oneeee little purchase that I thought was important. I’ve been working on these gifts for months and I knew that this would be perfect for you. Open it!”
With still teary eyes, Brain opened the locket. He felt himself shake a little with what he saw. On the left half, there was a tiny picture of Pinky and him kissing; it was their first photo together as a couple from a few months back. That had been one of the greatest days of his life and Pinky had given him a reminder of it. There was also something written into the right half. It said:
You’re My World, Brain!
Below that was Pinky’s wonderfully strange signature, with everything being surrounded by miniscule hearts.
Brain could not take it anymore. Seeing the personalized locket with their love permanently etched into it was such an emotional rush. He put the locket down and collapsed onto his knees, pressing his paws against his face as he burst into loud and uncontrollable sobs. He felt so cherished. Pinky really, really loved him. He was appreciated by the most important thing in his life. That was all that mattered.
As the shorter mouse cried harder than ever before, Pinky sat down on the floor and pulled him into a hug, their bodies pressed together. Brain sobbed hard into his partner’s chest, not even caring that he was making a mess. He just held Pinky tight and let all of his feelings that had been building up all night out. Pinky rubbed his back, placing light kisses on Brain’s head. He wasn’t upset, rather he was eternally grateful. How had he, of all feeble creatures on this miserable planet, ended up with the kindest, most generous mouse to ever exist?
After a few minutes of nothing but crying, Brain sniffled, the tears ceasing. He glanced upward at Pinky, who had the softest smile on his face, making the megalomaniac melt inside. “Did you like your presents, Brain? Zort. Did I do a good job?” Pinky asked while continuing to massage Brain’s back.
Brain felt himself stir, his heartrate increasing. “Yes, dear.” He nuzzled Pinky’s nose. “Your gifts were commendable, and I couldn’t be more pleased with your dedication to me.”
His companion beamed, hugging Brain tight. “I’m so happy, I could just run around all fun-fun-silly-willy! Thank you for everything, Brain!”
“No, thank you, Pinky. For everything you’ve done tonight.” He un-did their embrace but kept his paws on his partner’s chest. “I-I’m flattered, truly I am. But I believe it is my turn to surprise you.”
Pinky looked confused, followed quickly by curiosity. “What do you mean, Brain? Did you get me a gift too? You shouldn’t have!”
“Yes, I did.” Brain felt a dark blush cloud his cheeks. “Look up, Pinky.”
The lanky mouse tilted his head upward towards the ceiling of their cage. Precisely at their exact location, a string of mistletoe hung above them, swinging slightly. Pinky’s face lit up instantly, an obvious blush present.
“Brain…is that…can we…? Egad!”
Brain nodded. “It’s tradition for two people in love to kiss underneath the mistletoe. It would be preposterous if we didn’t honor that. So…uhm…I suppose we can just…”
“This is the best gift ever, darling!” Pinky was shaking about in excitement; it was almost concerning. “You don’t have to ask me twice! I adore our kisses! C’mere you wonderful mouse!”
Pinky pulled Brain closer, pressing their lips together in a tender motion. Brain was quite taken aback by how forcibly Pinky had pushed them into the kiss, but his initial shock dissipated and was replaced by a warm sensation filling his entire body. He placed his paws on Pinky’s cheeks, taking notice of how heated they were. He felt Pinky’s arms wrap around his waist, their proximity increasing dramatically. Brain moaned as the kiss deepened.
They parted for air, but it was only temporary. Brain immediately grabbed Pinky’s cheeks again and they kissed, even more intensely than before. He didn’t understand how Pinky could be so good at kissing, especially since he hadn’t kissed anyone before they’d became a thing. But Brain was always amazed by what his boyfriend could do, despite his below-average intellect. He sank into this kiss, noticing how Pinky tasted like gingerbread before pulling away to breathe.
Pinky huffed, his face beet red and his eyes widened in glee. “Oh, Brain! I love you so much! Narf!” he cooed quietly. “Merry Christmas.”
Brain peppered kisses along Pinky’s neck, causing the taller mouse to giggle fervently. He smiled at his partner, his mind a mess of romantic thoughts and of his Pinky. “I love you too, Pinky. Merry Christmas.”
“Uhm, honey, we’re still under the mistletoe! I don’t think our little tradition thingy is done yet.” Pinky fluttered his eyes and made a kissy face.
Brain smiled. “I suppose you are right. Shall we continue?”
Pinky’s face heated up. “Yes, we shall. Poit!”
Their lips met again, their kissing session continuing once more. As Pinky leaned into him, Brain felt wonderful. He savored the sound of every moan, sigh, and chuckle, holding them in his subconscious as little reminders. His holiday season had grown a lot brighter, especially with such an incredible and loving boyfriend by his side.
Pinky was by far his greatest gift.
Such a merry Christmas indeed.

Happy Holidays!!
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Here's a little one-shot I did just in time for Christmas! I have a link to AO3 if you want to read it there but I'll post it here as well, in case you want to read it that way:
Brain could not fathom what had gotten him to this point. He was struggling to comprehend why he had decided that today, of all days in the year, he’d chosen to admit to Pinky about his personal feelings towards him. It was Christmas, a time for cheer, for good tidings. He couldn’t bare to face rejection today, especially since he’d given up concocting a world domination scheme in favor for…what he supposed was an elaborate confession.
But he couldn’t say it aloud. Not in the slightest. That would require weeks upon weeks of careful planning for Brain to even come close to verbally communicating with his partner in an adequate style. So, he decided to show rather than tell. Which wasn’t his forte in the slightest. He prided himself on his extensive vocabulary, his desire to inform all around him. Yet when it came to talking with Pinky about his non-platonic thoughts, his mind went blank and dry. He supposed a physical gesture would suffice perfectly fine.
The megalomaniac opened the unlocked caged door, a slight waiver in each step he took, his body trembling ever so slightly. The Christmas lights strung all about were calming, but his nerves were high. This would either go extremely well, or... it could signal the end to their friendship. Permanently.
He sighed quietly when he saw Pinky happily dancing with tinsel, finishing the last of the decorating. He seemed to not have a care in the world, his pretty pleasant humming sending shivers down Brain’s spine. He took a deep breath, swallowed heavily, and approached his companion, the blush already forming on his face.
“Pinky, come here now.” Brain tried to sound irritated, but it just sounded like he was unsure and skittish.
This wasn’t going to go well.
The taller mouse gladly set down his tinsel and sauntered over to where Brain was standing, a large grin on his face. “Poit! Hi, Brain! Need somethin’ for your plan thingy? I was just decorating, but I can totally stop and help you!”
Brain rubbed the back of his paw, biting his lip as the words he was trying to say left him. “No, I’m not executing a plan tonight, as bizarre as that sounds, but I appreciate your consideration for assisting me.”
“Oh, alright! Troz! So then, what did you want to tell me Brain?” Pinky clapped eagerly. “Ooh, is it a surprise? Or do I have something in my teeth again. I hate it when that happens!”
“Your teeth are…fine.” Brain reeled the conversation back to where he was initially leading it, mostly so the lingering pink in his cheeks could hopefully dissipate. “I just wanted to show you something…important…yes…very important.”
Why was talking to Pinky so hard today?
Pinky’s eyes widened. Brain could tell his friend was interested in whatever he had prepared and that allowed him to feel somewhat reassured. Maybe this ordeal would go better than he expected.
“Oh, what is it, Brain? Narf! Another super-duper sweet Christmas gift to go with all the other ones you got me? You didn’t have to!”
“You could say that.” Brain felt his stomach churn a little “Think of it as another Christmas present for yourself to add onto your expansive collection.”
Now that he so carelessly phrased his little profession as a gift for Pinky, he could comprehend that his companion’s expectations were raised. The what-if questions popped into his head about the possible scenarios that would occur, some were optimistic, but most were damaging to a catastrophic degree.
“Brain!” The lanky mouse pulled him into a tight embrace, squeezing all the oxygen out from inside him. “Thank you, thank you! I owe ya one!”
Brain wheezed in Pinky’s crushing hold, attempting to move his arms to free himself, but to no avail.
“Pinky…can’t…breathe…stop.”
“Sorry!” Pinky let him go, a sympathetic and embarrassed look on his face. “Sometimes I don’t know me own strength. Troz! Anywhosies, where is this gift for me?”
“It’s a…well…it’s a surprise sort of thing…so I think it would be most beneficial to…” He stopped dead in his tracks when he glanced at Pinky’s soft blue eyes so full of a bright hope. Brain felt the temperature rise around him, the words he was attempting to say catching in his throat. He was extremely uneasy, though he quickly realized that he needed to show Pinky, or his chance would slip away.
Granted, he probably would get an ample number of opportunities in the future, but he’d already pushed these emotions away for far too long. Now or never, he supposed.
Being briefly lost in his stuttering, the shorter mouse finally found his coherent speech again after what seemed like an eternity. “…to close your eyes and just let me guide you to what I want to show you, Pinky. Can you do that?”
“Of course I can close my eyes, silly! I do that to sleep!” Pinky patted Brain’s head gently. “I’m dumb, but I’m not that dumb! Zort!”
“That’s debatable.” Brain retorted with an eyeroll.
“Close your eyes. No peeking.”
Pinky followed Brain’s order with ease, even covering his face with one of his paws to go a bit further. Even that, however, couldn’t restrain his incessant giggling.
Brain fidgeted in his spot, not really confident on where to go next. He looked at Pinky’s other paw, his breath hitching as he reached out to hold it. His blush deepened when he heard Pinky make a shocked gasp as their hands met. “Are you comfortable, Pinky? I’m not holding anything too hard, right?”
“Absolutely, Brain! Nothing to worry about here! Your hand is very soft!”
The mouse sighed and began pulling Pinky along behind him, trying his best to avoid all obstacles in their path. Luckily, it wasn’t far to Brain’s…what he supposed was a gift. At least from Pinky’s perspective.
He only glanced at Pinky once while they walked hand-in-hand (mostly because he didn’t want to see his partner’s endearing face), but as soon as he saw his friend, his anger increased when he caught a tiny glimpse of Pinky’s eyes through his fingers.
“Pinky! I said no peeking! Why can toast follow instructions better than you?”
“M’sorry Brain.” He immediately covered his face again, a sheepish grin ever present on his lips. “I just couldn’t help myself. Poit! I promise I won’t look again.”
Brain groaned but continued to guide his companion to a more secluded area of the room. His heartrate drastically increased, and he could feel sweat forming on his forehead. What he was about to do was extremely risky. It could change everything.
It wasn’t going to work. Pinky would certainly reject these “advances.”
He positioned his partner to where they were standing face-to-face. Brain hastily let go of Pinky’s paw, still not entirely being used to this more intimate handholding. He brushed himself off before the moment of truth, where things were likely going to be altered considerably.
Brain inhaled deeply and suppressed his worries to his best ability. “You can open your eyes now.”
Pinky gladly obliged, removing his hand from his face and opening his blue eyes. He began looking around, a slight bit of confusion lingering in his expression. Brain felt his chest sink a little.
“Brain, I don’t see anything.” Pinky scratched his head for a second before his face lit up. “Did you get me air for Christmas? Troz! Oh, thank you, that’s so thoughtful! I can use it to breathe and…”
“No, Pinky.” Brain covered his companion’s mouth before he could say anything else, though he admitted to being relieved that Pinky’s initial uncertainty had not been as a result to what he actually had planned. He gestured upward, holding his breath as he did so.
Here we go.
A tiny green plant with white berries hung down from a pole, swaying gently in the light breeze that chilled the lab. Brain felt extremely lightheaded as he finally revealed his stab at a confession. But he felt himself almost pass out when he noticed Pinky’s face change from joy to one of…even more confusion? What?
“Uhm, Brain. How’s a plant going to help me breathe? You aren’t making sense. Is everything okay in that big ol’ head of yours?” He rested a paw on Brain’s shoulder.
Great, now he’d have to basically spell everything out for him. Just perfect.
Brain sighed, letting the last string of dignity he had left go and fully allowing a dark red blush to invade his face. “You are mistaken, Pinky. This plant doesn’t aid in breathing. Rather it’s…it’s…mistletoe.” He had to face away from his partner to avoid the awkward conversation that was about to unfold.
His attention was grabbed once again when he heard a quiet squeak from the mouse standing behind him. It was so unusual to hear something so primitive come from his companion. Brain turned around to see Pinky, who looked positively bewildered, eyes widened.
“What did you say, Brain?”
It was his shocked tone. Usually, Pinky would inanely ask Brain to repeat a part of his plan for global conquest, but he would sound optimistic. Pinky was anything from jovial now; rather he was almost quiet.
Brain nervously rubbed his paws together. He wasn’t exactly sure whether Pinky’s reaction was good or bad. “It’s mistletoe, Pinky. Y’know, that Christmas tradition...some people do.” He trailed off as he lost any motivation to keep talking, especially after seeing Pinky’s glance towards him.
He looked so lost, even a little anxious. What was he thinking?
“Brain, I-”
“No, no. Let me finish.” He interrupted his partner, trying his best not to shake like an idiot. “Listen, I’ve been having these…feelings for you as of recently. When it started, how long it’s been going on, I have no reasonable idea. I couldn’t just tell you these personal thoughts. I don’t think I would’ve been able to execute it expertly. So, since it’s Christmas, I decided to…well uhm…show you with this.”
“Hmm-”
Brain silenced him again, but this time, it was by him pressing his lips against Pinky’s. He closed his eyes, doing his best to sink into the kiss like it was the only time he could ever make a move. He heard Pinky elicit a soft gasp, causing him to fall back to reality.
What was he doing?
Brain tore away from Pinky, his heart racing, and his mind spiraling. He’d made a huge mistake; he’d lost something else that he could never get back. He blinked back the tears forming in his eyes as he tried to salvage what little he had left of their relationship. “Pinky, I-I’m sorry for doing that. It was impulsive of me, and I’ve made a grave fault with your emotions. I’ll just leave now for your…”
“Do it again.”
He turned to face his friend, voice fading to only a discreet murmur at what he’d just heard.
“Pardon?”
“Do it again, Brain.”
Oh. Oh.
He couldn’t have meant…that. Could he?
Just to clarify, Brain spoke up, using all his willpower not to make assumptions. “As in what…”
“Can you kiss me again, Brain.” Pinky cut him off abruptly.
This wasn’t a joke. He really wanted this.
Brain felt his ears pin back, his eyes widen in elation. He could only stare at Pinky and his gentle features, how calm yet excited he appeared and the soft smile he always held on to. Brain moved towards him, ready to accept his partner’s request.
“Y-yes, I suppose we could…repeat my previous action if you so desire to.”
And with that, the megalomaniac held Pinky’s cheeks and pulled him into another kiss, only this time, Pinky kissed back. Their lips seemed to move in tandem. Brain let down his tough exterior for a moment and allowed himself to moan against Pinky’s mouth. Pinky’s arms wrapped around Brain’s waist, pulling the two even closer together than before. Brain moved one paw from Pinky’s cheek to his chest, as he began to stroke his mildly unkept fur. He could also feel Pinky’s heart beating against his palm, loud and quick yet tender. He heard Pinky sigh once before he leaned into Brain more, deepening their kiss.
Almost a little too deep.
Pinky leaned so far, that Brain felt his legs give out, sending both mice tumbling to the ground, ending their kiss abruptly. Pinky burst out in hysterics, giggling as he pulled Brain to his feet, but not before planting a tiny peck on Brain’s nose. For once, Brain didn’t even mind that Pinky had caused him light pain. He was still recovering from their kiss. Both of them, to be precise.
“So, I’m guessing that you appreciated my little gesture.” Brain felt his cheeks burn red, though he appreciated his ability to mildly flirt with Pinky.
“I loved it, Brain! Narf! Why didn’t you show me sooner? I would’ve kissed you even then!” Pinky pulled the shorter mouse into a side hug, nuzzling his head.
Brain felt like he would melt where he stood. Pinky reciprocated his affections. And best of all, he still wasn’t done with his “surprise.” He planned out a phase two, specifically if Pinky had returned his feelings.
“Pinky, I don’t suppose you’d want to…”
“Kiss again and again? Yes, yes yes!!” Pinky cheered. He quickly pulled Brain into another embrace, locking their lips together in a swift manner. Brain felt himself swoon a little before his arms found their way to Pinky’s waist. When they parted for air, Brain closed the space again.
To add to his plan, Brain tugged at Pinky’s back, guiding them to below another conveniently placed mistletoe. Pinky briefly parted and glanced above them. He blinked once, before letting out an excited squeal.
“Brain! There’s another one!” Pinky looked behind the shorter mouse, seeing a line of mistletoes on string, sort of like a path. “And there’s another one! And another! Zort! Wow! There are so many!”
Brain chuckled, satisfied with Pinky’s reaction to his setup. He grabbed Pinky’s shoulders, their noses pressing together. “Are you pondering what I’m pondering?” Brain said, in a seductive whisper.
Pinky flushed, a pleasant smile accenting his features. He moved his paws to Brain’s cheeks before responding. “I think so, Brain. But are we reeeeeallly going to kiss under every single one of these mistletoes? Seems like a lot, doesn’t it?”
Brain could tell Pinky didn’t really mean it by his goofy, lovestruck expression, and his half-lidded eyes that conveyed flirtation rather than outright uncertainty. His hold on Pinky increased in vigor. “Your assertions are correct, dearest Pinky. Just follow my lead, and we can both enjoy this Christmas tradition.”
“Sure thing, Brain.”
This time, Pinky made the first move, instigating this kiss in a gingerly fashion. Brain instantly felt his mind turn to mush as Pinky’s cloud-like lips pressed against his, and even though it was their fourth kiss, he still felt a weird bubbly sensation invading his chest. How was Pinky so good at kissing?
They separated for breath, with Brain pulling Pinky beneath another mistletoe. Their lips met again, only this time, they didn’t immediately move to another plant. They kissed a few times, Brain feeling Pinky’s quiet moans and sighs against his mouth. This was going better than he could’ve ever hoped for.
It became almost kind of a dance. They’d kiss, pull apart, and move on to stand beneath another mistletoe. At first, they simply just strolled in a daze, remaining close to one another. But quite quickly, Pinky introduced mild twirls and back and forth swaying before they’d return to each other, and their lips would meet again.
Brain was enjoying this far more than he expected. The push and pull of their “dancing” was invigorating and enjoyable. As he and Pinky traveled down his mistletoe path, his cheeks were a dark red and he felt invincible as Pinky literally swept him off his feet.
“Oh, Brain! I could do this forever and ever! Troz! You’re such a great kisser and dancer!”
Brain was almost far too lost on his own romantic thoughts to respond, “Thank you Pinky, for everything. Especially your consideration of my emotional needs. But the thrills aren’t finished just yet.” He held his partner by the waist, placing a soft kiss on his neck. “Just one more kiss and then we’ll have reached the crescendo to my surprise for you.”
Pinky purred dreamily. “I’d like that very much, Brain. And I’m very excited.”
Standing under the final mistletoe on the path, Pinky and Brain kissed once more, the most deep one by far. When it ended, they both were huffing messes.
“Ooh, that was incredible! Poit!” Pinky said breathlessly. “Please say we’re not done.”
Brain chuckled, reaching down to grab Pinky’s paw and interlace their fingers. “We are not. There’s one last thing I did that I hope you will enjoy.”
Pinky beamed, squeezing Brain’s hand as the pink-eyed mouse led him to a wide-open space. He gasped at what he saw.
“Oh. My. Naaaaaaaaarf!”
The entire area had dozens upon dozens of mistletoes hanging from poles. Most had glittery bows that seemed to sparkle in the faint light. Pinky dashed to the middle of the mistletoes, turning around to see all the pretty plants. He was awestruck.
“It’s beautiful Brain! You did this all for me? So we could kiss as much as we want?”
Brain walked over to Pinky, nodding bashfully as he attempted to conceal the pink tints on his face. “I guess you could say that. I truthfully thought that you would reject my advances and you’d never get to see this. But it appears that I was mistaken.”
Pinky pulled Brain closer to him, resting his head on top of Brain’s. “Why would I say no? This is the bestest thing anyone’s ever done for me. Troz! I’m so happy!”
“I’m glad you liked what I made.” Brain felt relieved that his companion was so grateful for what he did. “I don’t suppose that since we’re surrounded by this mistletoe, we could…oof!”
Brain was cut short by Pinky tackling him to the ground. While he was a little peeved at the abrupt contact with the floor, his initial distaste was stifled when Pinky’s lips pressed against his own. He closed his eyes as he sank into the kiss, his paws finding their way to his partner’s back. His body grew very warm when Pinky gently touched his cheeks before he began stroking his ears. Brain felt his heart skip a beat when he heard Pinky moan softly; it sounded, dare he say it, adorable. He deepened their kiss, sensing Pinky’s head angling back to allow him to do so. Despite the fact that Pinky was larger than him, Brain felt comfortable that all of Pinky’s weight was on him.
When they parted, Brain closed the space between their mouths almost instantly. The entire world seemed to stand still as they kissed. He didn’t even bother noticing any of his surroundings. All that mattered to him was ensuring that this kiss be satisfactory for Pinky.
Somehow, Brain found himself sitting on the taller mouse’s chest, meaning they had been rolling around during their little kissing session. Pinky giggled at the sight, ruffling the fur on Brain’s head playfully before he forcibly grabbed Brain’s back and pulled him into another kiss.
Time passed, it could have been seconds, minutes, or hours. Brain didn’t pay attention. He was utterly transfixed by the stunning mouse that was kissing him passionately, making him feel so lucky that he’d taken the chance to confess. But still. Something wasn’t adding up right.
Why was Pinky so adamant about them kissing?
As if he’d read his mind, Pinky pulled away, looking at Brain with so much adoration in his sky-blue gaze. “Does this mean we’re a couple, Brain?”
“What?”
“I mean, we’ve done all the fun couple-y things I see on T.V. Troz! We kissed, we daaaanced. Oh, and we hugged, and you bop me on the head, and we sleep together. Egad, we’re just like those old-timey sitcom couples!”
A dawning realization hit Brain. Did Pinky truly have feelings for him, too? And how long had he had them? Years it seemed. He didn’t know how to respond initially.
Brain’s ears pinned back as he pondered, finally reaching a decent conclusion. “Yes, Pinky. I believe that due to these circumstances we’ve found ourselves in, I sense that we may have a non-platonic relationship currently.”
“What does that mean?”
He rolled his eyes. “What it means is, yes. It seems we are indeed a…couple.”
Pinky’s smile grew bigger, and tears of joy ran down his face. “Does this mean we can smooch whenever? Not just under the mistletoe? Narf!”
Goodness his face was red.
“I-I suppose so.” Brain was going to faint.
“Brain! We’re a couple! Oh, and we can kiss whenever we…”
The megalomaniac placed a finger on Pinky’s lips, silencing him. When he removed his finger, he wasted no time and began kissing Pinky, continuing their mistletoe-induced affection anew.
After a few minutes of nothing but their lips pressing together, they parted, both mice gasping for air. Brain got off Pinky’s chest, pulling his friend to his feet with a light tug. He heavily disliked ending their intimacy but it was getting a little late.
“Pinky, can you be so kind as to prepare dinner for the both of us? I’m quite famished after…all of that.” Brain gently combed his fingers through Pinky’s chest fur, doing his best to persuade his companion.
“Righty-o, Brain! I’ll make the food pellets just how you like them, aaaaaaand I might add a little somthin’ special just for you! Zort!”
Brain gave Pinky a quick nuzzle. “Do what you must. Don’t take too long though. We have things to do later.”
Pinky gave the shorter mouse a little salute, before kissing Brain’s cheek as the two departed. He skipped away, only to turn around once.
“Can we come back to the mistletoes after dinner?”
Brain pretended to be annoyed, but he was secretly pleased. “Perhaps, if you’re well behaved. I mean, I said we have things to later.”
“Love things?”
“I-I suppose...uh…maybe. You’ll just have to wait and see.”
Pinky celebrated. “Yay! Alright, food will be ready in five, darling! Poit!” His pace increased drastically until he disappeared from Brain’s vision.
Though Brain could hear Pinky “whispering” to himself as he ran.
“Brain kissed me! Narf! Brain kissed me!”
The shock from what had just unfolded rushed to Brain’s cranium, causing him to collapse onto his knees. He couldn’t even believe that Pinky was also interested in him, romantically. And they’d essentially made out. For a good thirty minutes. The logical part of his mind told him it was preposterous, unlike his usual mindset.
Yet, he felt riveted, stimulated even, at the prospect of Pinky and him becoming a couple. It caused a feeling only akin to butterflies to occur within his stomach. His heartbeat was fast, his face a deep shade of red. Brain’s Christmas desire had come to pass.
Pinky reciprocated his emotions. It blew him away at just the mere thought of the matter.
As he just sat in his hazy thoughts, Brain couldn’t help but feel slightly enthusiastic about the possibility of them kissing again. Specifically, underneath the mistletoe. It was a thrill unlike any other.
Honestly, he couldn’t care less that it made him seem vulnerable, of a weaker standing.
Finally, being allowed to start a relationship with the mouse he…tolerated most was all he could think about.
And Brain fully admitted, it was going to be a wonderful new chapter in his life.
Re-blogging this to the fic sideblog because why not?
Since we're in December now, how about Brinky + watching a cheesy hallmark Christmas movie?
The daily newspaper was becoming all too familiar to Brain. The ridiculous political schlock, while amusing to read about initially, grew uninteresting and bland at a rapid pace as the days passed. Weather forecasts were muddled by their repetitiveness; nothing ever really changed in the patterns of temperature or climate. Even the advertisements were mundane and monotonous, not offering any form of eye-catching spectacle to intrigue the senses. Life just seemed like it was at a standstill.
That applied to world domination as well. The megalomaniac had spent a substantial amount of time pondering about creating a new plan, but none would come to him. Every time he thought he had an idea, it would slip away just as quickly, fading into the recesses of his thoughts. Brain didn’t understand why tonight his usually active mind was so blank, but it was likely because of recent events he didn’t want to discuss in detail.
Safe to say, four nights ago, his whole life flipped upside-down. Pinky had confessed to having a crush on Brain, right in the middle of one of their schemes. Brain had been so astonished at his friend’s assertion that he ended up fumbling the final stage of his plan, which led to both mice ending up in a pile of rubble. While they were unharmed, Pinky had been distraught, thinking that his admission had ruined everything. Brain convinced Pinky that all was great and, yes, he even conceded to reciprocating Pinky’s affections. They became official, by a kiss. Not just a simple peck. A full on, no mistaking it, kiss on the lips. Everything was so surreal in how it panned out.
This was not Brain’s cup of tea. At all. Having a partner of somewhat romantic interest was entirely new. He didn’t know how to react, especially after their first kiss. Brain ended up saying very little the evening afterward, though Pinky seemed to have a hunch that he was okay, but a little uncertain about everything.
And that was very accurate.
It also likely explained why he was struggling to focus on world conquest, something he was usually so ardent about.
Brain wouldn’t usually be caught dead reading the newspaper, but over the past few days, it had basically become a routine for him to spend at least an hour reading through each article. He admitted, though, that the paper was starting to become a bore.
By the time he’d reached the political section, his brain was already off in other places, still trying to put together a feasible plan. He groaned a tad at a story about Congress and governors, rolling his tired eyes for what felt like the tenth time that day. Why did everything in politics need to be discussed, especially when it was something so ridiculously mindless and unimportant?
Brain was just about to flip the page to what was definitely going to be another unappealing celebrity story, when he heard the familiar hum of a certain blue-eyed mouse. He held his breath, fully expecting his friend to burst into song again or do some other obnoxious activity as a way of encouraging him to get back to planning. He was surprised when he was met with a content and relaxed Pinky, who just seemed to be minding his own business, not paying much attention to Brain’s predicament in the slightest.
“Hello, Brain! Narf! What’cha doing? Something super-duper smart as usual?” Pinky chirped, a vivid and eager smile on his face. Brain sighed; this was what Pinky said and acted like when he wanted something.
He glanced up from staring at the newspaper, trying to look and sound as irked as he possible could. “What do you want, Pinky?”
The taller mouse’s grin only grew more as he began toying around with his tail, the slightest hint of pink forming on his cheeks. “Ohhhh, nothing!” He giggled a little, before biting back a smirk.
Brain put the newspaper down, raising an eyebrow in complete suspicion. “Are you sure? You seem quite eager to inform me of something you desire. So, what is it? And please make it quick.”
“Haha Brain, you got me! Poit!” Pinky skipped closer to where Brain was sitting, touching his shoulder briefly. “I was kinda wondering if maybe, instead of taking over the world tonight, you’d wanna…uhm…watch a movie with me?” Pinky’s cheeks were now a light shade of red, a bashful smile accenting his anxious state.
Brain felt his face heat up when Pinky touched him gently, but that feeling was replaced immediately with bewilderment at Pinky’s question. “What?” he asked, eyes widening. Was he hearing his partner properly?
Pinky’s excited expression faltered, fading into one of uncertainty. “Yeah, Brain. I was hoping that you’d want to watch a fun little movie with me. Maybe, take the night off since you’ve been soooo quiet and des-con-bub-uleted recently. I thought you’d like it. Troz.”
The megalomaniacal mouse shook his head, rubbing his temples in attempt to process this information. A movie? Over world domination? What a preposterous idea! “Pinky, we cannot simply just ignore the prospect of world conquest! Especially for something as idiotic as a film. I have plans I need to enact; just go watch whatever movie you want by yourself and don’t bother me with nonsense!”
Brain felt a little contrite for being so harsh on Pinky, especially since he didn’t actually have a plan to put into effect. But he needed to say…really anything to deter his friend from spending time with him. He still wasn’t used to the fact that they were boyfriends non-platonic partners now.
Pinky got close to Brain, holding his paws gently and mustering up the best pouty eyes he could. “Come on, tonight’s special! Please, I’ll make sure it’s extra fun-fun silly-willy for you and then tomorrow we can go back to doing what we do every night! Zort! Please, Brain? For me?” He even whimpered ever so quietly.
Brain’s face turned a light pink when he felt Pinky’s fingers interlace with his. It didn’t help that his partner’s blue eyes seemed to grow in size (and adorableness). He groaned; how was Pinky so good at convincing him to do the most humdrum and childish things imaginable? He supposed that just one night not taking over the world wouldn’t hurt too much. Besides, it’s not like he had an idea of how to do it currently. Also, he desperately wanted to avoid another Pinky meltdown.
He gave Pinky’s paws a gentle squeeze before answering him. “I suppose that one night of not taking over the world might not be so bad. Alright Pinky, we may watch whatever movie you claim is so important, but just for tonight.”
The lanky mouse cheered, pulling Brain into an embrace. Brain felt immensely uncomfortable, but the sound of Pinky’s heartbeat made his face flush a dark shade of red. He didn’t even bother to reprimand his companion, even after he was put down; his mind was already off in other places.
“Oh, Brain! I have the perfect movie for us to watch! I know you’ll looooooove it! Poit!” Pinky pressed his nose to Brain’s, nuzzling it gently.
Brain was certain that Pinky could see how dark his cheeks were. He chose not to dwell on that though. “Let’s get this over and done with,” he deadpanned, crossing his fingers that this wouldn’t take too much time. He was extremely tired.
Pinky grabbed Brain’s hand, guiding him over to the T.V in a more secluded portion of the room. This hand holding thing was still sort of new to him, so he felt slightly uneasy at the affection he was receiving while they walked. But seeing Pinky’s excitement was somewhat soothing to Brain, his partner’s ever-present cheer being endearing to the pink-eyed mouse.
Pinky clapped happily when they reached the area where the T.V was. “Ta-da! Narf!! D’you like it, Brain?”
Brain didn’t respond initially, his chest tightening when he saw the little setup his friend had made for them. The T.V was where it had always been, but in front of it was a large pile of mouse-sized pillows and blankets, all of which looked handmade. Heightening the comfortable atmosphere was a large collection of snacks; Brain couldn’t help but smirk a little seeing Pinky had collected some of his favorite treats.
“Why, Pinky. I’m-I’m touched,” he spoke breathlessly, the utter shock at seeing such a personal display of such care from his partner proving so stupendous to him. Brain felt…loved. Very much loved. In ways he’d never dreamed of.
Pinky beamed. “I knew you’d just love it! I got all your favorite little morsels to munch on and I made it super comfortable for you so that you wouldn’t feel all squirmy and grumpy-growly.”
Brain walked over to the pillows, sitting down gingerly. He was surprised at how comfortable the setup was, sighing as he felt his body sink a little. “These pillows have excellent lower back support.” The shorter mouse allowed himself to relax. “Did you make them yourself?”
“Yes, I did!” Pinky gestured to himself, puffing out his chest in pride. “I spend all week making these! Zort! Ever since I found the movie, I want to watch tonight on the guide thingy, I kinda planned this whole thing out. Including making only the bestest blankets and pillows for my bestest friend and now boyfriend!”
Brain flushed at Pinky’s admittedly sweet gesture. Why was Pinky so kind, so generous with everything? What had he done to deserve all this?
Oh great, now he was becoming soft.
Wanting to shift from the emotionally vapid conversation, Brain moved focus away from Pinky’s pillows and placed it on what film they’d be watching. “So, my friend. What movie shall we be viewing, and will I need to go get some Aspirin to be able to withstand it?”
Pinky burst out laughing at Brain’s “joke”. “Aspirin! Poit! Genius, Brain!” He wiped tears from his eyes. “Oh, and we’ll be watching a Christmas movie! Doesn’t that sound just splendiferous?”
Great. A Christmas flick? The inanest drivel known to man and mouse kind? How wonderful.
“Which Christmas movie?” He prepared to hear an obvious answer, something like Rudolph or A Christmas Story or, God forbid that horrendous live-action Grinch movie with Jim Carrey. The mere thought of watching that movie again made Brain shudder.
Pinky pranced over to the remote, clicking the power button. “It’s a brand-new movie called Our First Christmas! Ooooo! Sounds romantic!” Pinky batted his eyes a little and did a twirl as he flipped through channels. “Doesn’t it sound romantic, Brainy?”
The pink-eyed mouse perked up a little at that notion. A romantic Christmas movie? That was even worse than those creepy Who’s that looked like they’d come straight from the uncanny valley. “Listen, I appreciate this admittedly benevolent deed you’ve done for me. But romantic movies aren’t really my forte…”
“Fiddley-posh!” Pinky loudly interrupted. “This movie is perfect, Brain! Besides, the title is so exciting, especially since it’s our first Christmas as a happy couple too!” His tail formed into the shape of a heart as he proclaimed this statement.
Brain felt his entire face turn a slight hint of pink; even the tips of his ears felt warm. “I guess that is true.” He tried to say something more, but he became tongue-tied. He couldn’t force the words out. He became a flustered mess as he kept pondering more and more. Pinky was the only thing to linger on his mind. The tints in his cheeks and ears deepened in color quickly.
He was only brought out of his flustered spiral when he heard frustrated grunts from his companion. “Where is it?” Pinky repeated complained as he jumped from channel to channel, growing increasingly more irritated. “Brain, darling! Which number is The Hallmark Channel again? The movie airs in two minutes! Troz!”
The megalomaniac froze. The Hallmark Channel? By far, the most preposterous, ludicrous, overly sappy, mind-numbingly saccharine, and repetitive thing on this planet? With the cheesiest romance Christmas movies of all time that no one talked about? This was going to be a painful evening.
“Never mind, I found it!” Pinky jumped up and down excitedly, selecting The Hallmark Channel which was currently running advertisements. He then danced over to where Brain was sitting, plopping down next to him with a louder-than-it-needed-to-be thud. “Are you ready for the movie, Brain?”
“Pinky, I really don’t think that this is a good idea.” Brain looked at his partner, trying his best to seem assertive. “The Hallmark Channel isn’t exactly known for creating the most complex content. It mostly consists of bland romantic comedies and the dumbest holiday trite that no one over the age of five would find interesting. Maybe I should just go back to…”
Brain was silenced when Pinky planted a small peck on his head, causing him to stop dead in his rant. He felt his mind cloud and a light blush to return to his face. “I know your big ol’ chubby head doesn’t usually like this stuff, but I thought watching a movie with you would be fun and endlightning” Pinky held Brain’s paw softly, using his other paw to trace around Brain’s knuckles. “Please, stay. I prepared all your favorite snacks.”
Brain felt his annoyance alleviate out, mostly because of Pinky touching his hand so lightly and that Brain had an idea that Pinky had kissed his head just to shut him up. He also briefly glanced at the snacks, taking extra time to observe the popcorn. It was extra salted, just how he liked it. And there were mini pretzels. Brain couldn’t help but be appreciative. Pinky had really taken everything into consideration.
“Fine, Pinky. I’ll stay for a little while. If only to get a slight kick out of viewing a mediocre film with you.” He saw Pinky’s face light up. Brain couldn’t help but allow a small smile to form on his lips. “And yes, I’ll enjoy your concessions as well.”
Pinky squealed in delight. “Hoorah! Egad, I’m sooooo excited I could just burst! Narf!” He pulled the shorter mouse closer and began nuzzling his nose again. “I knooow we’re going to have the bestest time!”
“I have an idea too.” Brain sarcastically remarked. But before he could say anything more, Pinky pulled away from him and pointed to the T.V.
“It’s starting, Brain!!”
He directed his attention to the screen in front of him, preparing himself for the numb experience that was going to unfold. Brain also grabbed the popcorn and placed it between himself and Pinky, slightly hoping that they would share (and accidently touch fingers). Pinky seemed to be preoccupied with chocolate covered raisins already; still Brain held onto his notion.
At first, things went exactly like Brain anticipated. A beautiful blonde-haired woman and her muscular new boyfriend were strolling down a snow-ridden sidewalk hand in hand. A typical opening scene for a romantic movie. Pinky seemed to be enjoying it though.
“Brain, doesn’t this remind you of when we held hands for the first time?”
The pink-eyed mouse snuck a quick look at his partner, his eyes and smile radiating seductiveness rather than playful intrigue. Brain bit his lip, trying not to start sputtering nonsense right then and there. “I suppose so, Pinky.” He quickly re-focused on the movie, his entire face turning pink.
The next few scenes were just as trope-y as it could get. The new couple talked about their shared interests, kissed a few times, and drama with the woman’s sister arriving at her front door arose. Brain chuckled quite a bit at the boyfriend’s hokey acting skills and when the sister started bawling, he couldn’t help but snicker a little at her horrific “crying.” Pinky, meanwhile, took everything seriously, commenting on every little drama that occurred. He even expressed his sadness at the sister’s predicament, getting slightly teary eyed. Brain groaned; it wasn’t that sad.
Occasionally, Brain would find himself reaching into the bowl for popcorn, only to be met with Pinky’s fingers. It seemed that every time he went for a snack, Pinky would already be there. He supposed it was just impeccable timing, but it soon grew clear to him that Pinky was intentionally sticking his hand into the bowl just to brush against Brain’s paw. They’d even held hands in the bowl for a good minute or two, until Brain took the now empty dish away to discourage any more intimacy. How could it have taken him so long to realize that Pinky was actively trying to push these tender moments into fruition?
Whenever a romantic scene occurred in the movie, Pinky got all giddy and he swooned a little, jumping and shaking about. He always made sure to mention about how the moment reminded him of Brain and their relationship. Brain couldn’t help but agree with his companion, as much as he didn’t want to.
An hour into the movie, while the couple were going through an extremely tedious dialogue scene on a park bench, Brain felt Pinky grab his handmade blanket and place it on both of them. He admitted that it was starting to get a little cold and that the blanket was extremely soft. Any trace of him being freezing was quickly extinguished, replaced with a calming heat. He allowed himself to sigh quietly, a sense of content washing over him. Things couldn’t get any better than this.
At least, that’s what he thought.
Pinky’s slender arms wrapped around Brain’s waist, the two now being even closer than before. Their hips were pressed together, their warmth now shared indefinitely. Brain felt his heart race and his thoughts grow foggy as his friend held him tightly. He even sensed that Pinky’s tail had wrapped around his, a common thing that he did while sleeping, and something Brain only picked up on after Pinky had apparently been doing this for years. Brain’s face went completely red from the proximity to his partner and his eyes widened in pleasant surprise.
He momentarily turned away from the film to glance upward at Pinky, paying special concentration to his features. His azure eyes, that gentle smile he never seemed to lose, the faint tint of pink on his cheeks. It was all so charming to Brain, so extraordinary. Even a little attractive in his perspective. Pinky was flawless to him. In every way, shape, and form.
Brain detected a lovestruck smile forming on his face, but for once, he didn’t pay any mind to it. All he could do at the moment was stare at the mouse he loved tolerated most, a fluttery sensation in his chest forming rapidly. He was only deterred from his gazing when Pinky looked straight at him, blue eyes meeting pink. Pinky smiled brightly. Brain felt exceptionally embarrassed for gaping so intently, his entire body heating up as he hastily turned away, hoping that nothing more would be said and that his face would change back to its normal color.
“Troz! Hehe, Brain. You don’t need to hide from me!” Pinky pulled Brain into a side hug, to which Brain didn’t even care that it was overwhelming. He was far too flustered.
“I don’t mind that you were staring at me. Really, I don’t! It’s so very sweet! Reminds me of when I used to do that to you all those years ago!” Pinky teasingly touched Brain’s nose, sighing once in nostalgic glee. “And may I just say, you look absolutely gorgeous tonight, darling!”
“As do you, my friend.”
Their paws met. Brain’s mind was addled with flowery nonsense, his heart beating so loud that he was certain Pinky could hear it. He didn’t know exactly what he wanted to do, but as Pinky’s expression seemed to glow, he felt satisfied by just sitting in silence with his lover. After a while, Brain felt Pinky’s grasp on him tighten, as if he didn’t want to let him go.
“Brain.” Pinky spoke quietly, his voice in a near whisper.
“Yes, Pinky?” Brain held his breath.
“I love you. Narf!”
The world seemed to stand still. Even the sounds of the movie playing went silent, replacing by a ringing in his ears.
Brain wasn’t sure if he heard Pinky right. “Pardon?”
“I love you, Brain. I know we’ve only been a couple for not long, but I’ve wanted to say that for a long time.” Pinky’s face turned a deep shade of red, un-linking their paws as he waved his around frantically. “You don’t have to say it back, just wanted to let you know! We can go back to watching the silly-willy movie…”
Brain placed a paw over Pinky’s mouth, stopping him from speaking any more. His mind was racing, and he wasn’t sure if he was thinking straight, but he needed to say something.
“I do too.”
“Hmm. What was that?”
He felt humid. The words he wanted to say just would not form properly. “I…uh…I… mmh…I…lo-lo…”
“You love me? Really, Brain?”
He breathed a sigh of relief. He still couldn’t say those three little words himself, but at least he’d implied it. “Yes, dearest Pinky. What you said was accurate to my feelings for you. For the most part”
Pinky swooned, almost crushing Brain in an extremely tight cuddle. “Oh, this is the happiest of days! Zort! I could just scream! I won’t but I totally would!”
The megalomaniac pushed away from his partner, his emotions all askew and his excitement piqued. Surely his face could not get any redder. A sudden wave of joy rushed through him, penetrating his previously hardened mindset. He glanced at the T.V, the cheesy movie still playing despite him not paying much notice to it anymore. He saw the couple, still on that same park bench holding each other close, spouting the most contrived dialogue of all time.
“Harrison.”
“Yes, Cynthia?”
“You are the light in my life. Thank you for everything you’ve done for me.”
“Of course, we’re together. That’s all that matters in the grand scheme of things.”
“I really mean it, babe. I love you so much.”
“I love you too.”
The lovers kissed passionately; while it wasn’t the first time they’d smooched in the film, this one was the only one that hit Brain differently. Perhaps it was the emotional conversation he’d just shared with Pinky, or his mind was mush now due to all the affection, but something about seeing the couple kiss made him want to do that.
With Pinky.
He turned away from the T.V, finding himself once again peering into his partner’s sky-blue gaze. Brain was nervous. More than he’d ever been before. He inhaled deeply before grasping Pinky’s cheeks, soaking up their warmth. “I apologize in advance for this, Pinky.”
The taller mouse looked confused. “For what?”
Brain pushed himself forward, pressing his lips against Pinky’s. He instantly felt his entire body go warm as he and Pinky were almost entirely together, their chests aligning perfectly. Brain felt Pinky’s paws on his back, holding him and rubbing his fur. Their lips moved in sync. He closed his eyes, sinking into the kiss.
Pinky gasped, the unusual brashness of Brain taking him by complete shock. His senses heightened as their kiss continued; it was even longer than their first! Brain was the best kisser ever! And his lips were so soft and cloud-like. Pinky moaned, holding Brain snugly.
The two parted for air, Brain a huffing mess and Pinky even more so. “Egaaaaaad!” Pinky sounded awestruck. “Wooooooooow, Brain! That was amazing! You’re amazing! Troz!”
Brain played with the fur on Pinky’s chest, his face tomato red. “I appreciate your sincere comments, dear. I’m not very confident in my…romance skills. And I’m still new to this whole…being non-platonic thing.” The rush was astounding. Brain immediately wanted more. “But…uh…would you want to…to…uhm….” He gestured to their lips.
“Kiss again?” Pinky blurted out. “You mean it?”
Brain nodded, beads of sweat forming on his forehead.
The lanky mouse giggled fervently. “You don’t have to ask, silly! Narf! We’re happier-than-happy boyfriends! You don’t ever have to ask!”
Brain was thankful that Pinky was so considerate of him. “You’re not messing with me, right? I’d hate to make you feel uncomfortable in this relationship.”
“Nope! I love kissing you, Brain! It makes me feel gooshy and tingly. Like I can do anything! I want to kiss you every minute of every day!”
He was going to explode. His ears pinned back as a starstruck buzz worked its way through him. Brain wanted to faint, sob, and scream all at the same time. “Pinky, I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I would have to concur with your statement. Kissing you is…an otherworldly experience. And I wish to do it often as well.”
And with that sentiment, their lips met again. Pinky’s paws worked their way up to Brain’s cheeks, which lifted at the touch. Brain held Pinky stringently by the waist, pushing their bodies closer. Pinky hummed contently as Brain deepened the kiss, their lips pressing together more. Brain blushed exponentially at Pinky’s noises, his heart hammering against his chest quite audibly. It was utter bliss. He wanted to hold Pinky and never let go. He loved him. Way more than he could admit.
It was only when Brain pulled away that he realized how tired he was. All this kissing had really drained his energy. Sleep was lingering on his mind, though he wasn’t near the sponge bed.
Pinky was laughing profusely, his charming smile making Brain feel remarkably lucky that he was all his. The pink-eyed mouse sighed, choosing to rest his head on Pinky’s lap, snuggling into the blanket. He took a deep breath, inhaling Pinky’s scent; he smelled like vanilla. And warmth. He began stroking the fur on his partner’s leg as his eyelids grew heavy. He didn’t even worry that his actions might be perceived as odd.
Pinky’s breath hitched as he felt Brain’s gentle touch, a tingly sensation engulfing his body. He began petting Brain’s big chubby head; he was amazed at how fluffy it was.
“Pinky,” Brain sleepily droned, pressing a tender kiss to his companion’s thigh. “Promise me that you’ll stay with me until the end. I care about you more than you’ll ever realize.”
Pinky looked like he was on an adrenaline rush. “Oh, Brain! I love you too. I love you so much!”
The shorter mouse allowed himself to smile, closing his eyes as he felt completely surrounded by his lover. Perfect. His life was perfect. His partner boyfriend was perfect. He couldn’t ask for anything else.
****************
Pinky was enamored. Completely and totally transfixed by the mouse he now called boyfriend. He was beautiful. His soft nose, blushy cheeks, and chubby head were so cute. His pink eyes that looked like the most colorful flowers, his crooked tail that was fun to touch. Brain filled his every waking thought with a magical love sensation that left him breathless. And as Brain was lying down in his lap, his tiny breaths ruffling the fur on his leg, Pinky couldn’t help but love him more.
But as much as he regretted looking away from his sweeter-than-sweet lover, Pinky wanted to finish watching the movie. He snuck in a quick loving glance at Brain’s precious scrunched up face, before diverting his gaze fully.
He directed his attention back to the T.V, the beautiful couple drawing him in with all their lovey-dovey goodness. They were holding hands now! And strolling with ice cream! In the cold! It was so romantic! He could basically imagine him and Brian doing that. Like a date! It would be so amazing!
“Brain, do you ever, maybe want to go to the park and get some ice cream? Poit! Just like in the movie! We can get your favorite flavors and stroll and kiss again under the trees and…”
He stopped in his tracks when he heard Brain’s quiet snoring, meaning he was sound asleep. He was making those funny whistling sounds through his nose, the ones Pinky absolutely adored. Brain was still even holding onto a little chunk of his fur, clinging to it like he couldn’t let go. Pinky happily smiled, his heart going all pittery-pattery.
“Sleep well, love,” Pinky whispered quietly to Brain, planting a tiny peck on his little nose. Brain grunted and shifted a little before he rested both his paws on Pinky again, causing the blue-eyed mouse to coo at Brain’s adorableness.
Pinky faced the T.V again; there was still a good 45 minutes left in the film! He was anticipating the rest of the movie, especially the drama and kissing! Before he could fully get invested though, he rested a hand on Brain’s head, petting it once more. Pinky saw Brain’s face soften out, a small smile present and a light pink dusting his cheeks. Pinky purred in glee. Brain was so cute when he was sleeping!
Sure, the movie was wonderful, but it was only half as wonderful as his Brain.
And that was something Pinky was certain of.

“Where is it?” Pinky repeatedly complained as he jumped from channel to channel, growing increasingly more irritated.

A Little Introduction For You/DA RULES!!
Have you ever had an Animaniacs/Pinky and The Brain fic you've always wanted to read? Do you have that one nagging idea that just sticks in your mind and invades your every waking thought? Hi guys!!!! I'm Pinky and you probably know me from my blog @theonethatyaks93. You've probably seen my random Pinky and The Brain and Animaniacs posts floating around here for some time (January of 2023 was when I joined but I've been in the Animaniacs fandom since 2020). But I also write fanfiction for funsies and since the Animaniacs/Pinky and The Brain fandom has slowly been waning, I decided to make a sideblog to accept requests for fanfics!!! This is so the fandom can stay alive and other people can find it too!! I'm a tad bit late to the party, but I hope that you guys enjoy what I have in store! Now below: I've listed some of the rules, restrictions, and information about how-to submit a request here!!
To make a request, all you have to do is drop it into the ask box here on this blog! I do not want fic requests on my main blog!! Thank you!! :) <3
I tried not to set too many rules but here are the main ones(Most of this is taken from my announcement post on my main blog):
There will be absolutely NO 18+ content allowed. There are a ton of fics out there with mature labels that you can find; you don't have to look hard. I do not feel comfortable writing that stuff yet. Don't ask for smut of any kind because you will not get it, I guarantee that. The farthest I want to go is deep kissing (i.e. tongue) but I'm only willing to do that for Pinky and Brain exclusively, since it doesn't seem to bother the fandom that much. I WILL NOT do that stuff for Yakko and Max because it doesn't sit well with me since they are so young. If deeper, more aggressive kissing is involved in Brinky fics, the tag: mildly spicy mice, will be used to indicate this. It won't be in every fic, I promise. :)
NO WARNERCEST REQESTS!!! That will get you promptly banned off of both my blogs for the foreseeable future. I HATE THIS SHIP SO MUCH AND IT'S DISGUSTING!!!! This also ties into the no 18+ content label mentioned earlier. Do not ask for this.
Fic requests may take up to a week or more to complete. It will depend on the ask itself and the story ideas I compile together. I'm very busy with other life things and stresses that it will be difficult to find the time to work on these. I will optimize weekends for fic writing to my best ability, but I will let you guys know if I'm taking a break. When I'm taking a short break, the ask box will be closed temporarily, but it will be re-opened.
Other ships such as Billie x Julia, Wakko x Louie Duck, and Dark Pinky x Future Brain will be accepted if you request them. If these take longer to make, it's going to be because I haven't written for these ideas before and I will need time to make sure everything is done decently. I'm also accepting AU ideas such as gender-swaps (I have a really good idea if y'all want to see a gender-swapped Pinky and Brain) . However, parody ideas will be extremely risky to request since if I haven't seen the material, I can't make the parody and if I have seen it, I might make a whole fic based on it rather than just a simple one-shot. I am also not accepting Wakko's Wish requests until further notice; I have a few pending and I will get to those eventually, thanks for being patient.
If your request takes longer to complete and it's not a parody or a ship I haven't worked with before, it's likely because I am working on a fic for AO3, most likely my one-shots, or a tedious multi-chapter. Don't think I've abandoned your request; I will get to you ASAP after I'm done with whatever project I'm on.
Certain things that are banned from the askbox: mean comments, smut requests, Warnercest, non-Animaniacs/PaTB requests, harassment of other individuals. Certain ships, such as Warnercest and Brain x Julia will not be allowed either due to personal or emotionally scarring reasons.
Last thing: Enjoy it!!! Make requests that are angsty, silly, fluffy, sad, or happy! Think about what you've always wanted to see in a fanfic, or an idea that you would enjoy seeing my take on. Just make sure to follow my rules and boundaries so we can all enjoy this as a fandom.
I'm really excited to see what I can do!!! And I'm also really excited to see all the fun ideas you guys can come up with!!! I'm hoping I can make this fandom proud and maybe inspire others to dive into the realm of writing!! Gather your requests and let's all have some fun!! Narf!!!
