In case you havenât had enough of chemistry⌠I got you because here are some more notes I made. This week is basically chemistry week - all the notes Iâve made (with 1 or 2 exceptions) are for chemistry. I think itâs because we are currently doing organic chemistry which I really enjoy.
college study tips that actually help
put your phone on silent and put it across the room
listen to classical/soundtrack music without lyrics
make index cards for important vocab
wear pajamas
make diagrams and pictures. they donât have to look pretty, as long as you understand it
make timelines for historical events
have a light snack
drink coffee or tea to keep you going
take a break every hour or so
have one pencil/black pen and one colored pen or highlighter. anything more will just distract you. the aesthetics arenât important, your knowledge is
donât be afraid to email/message your teacher or a classmate if you donât understand something. the last thing you want to do is learn the incorrect information
know that sleep and health is more important than your grade. you cannot perform as well on a test if you are tired or sick. take care of yourself
itâs not a race. itâs not about who can learn something in the quickest time, itâs about learning
take a deep breathÂ
prioritize your homework by how long it will take you and when itâs due
plan some you time in between studying and school
if youâre mentally exhausted, set a timer for 30 minutes and take a nap. any longer and youâll wake up even more tired
donât understand something? thatâs perfectly fine, donât stress over it. ask for help rather than complaining
have a goal in mind and write them down. say things like âi am getting an education so i can get the job of my dreams. the life that i want. the happiness that i deserveâ
be thankful. it is a privilege that you get to go to school and get an education.Â
you got this.

A Really Fucking Vulgar Guide to Not Losing Your Shit in College (Condensed Version)
Bitches love to put things into lists. Moreover, bitches love numbered shit. Hereâs some numbered shit in list format to help you not suck in higher education. Youâre welcome.
1. Go to class. Like 210% serious. I donât give a shit if youâre a get by on nothing, A+ slacker. Youâre fucking paying for this crap so you might as well get the services owed to you. Take your ass to class even if you zone out 99% of the time. You know 1% more than you did when you walked up in there. Congrats, asshole.
2. All that free time you have during your first week of classes? Make it your bitch. Donât just print the goddamn syllabus and be like all done. No motherfucker. Take a good fucking look at that assignment list. Whatâs due next week? Yeah, do that shit now bc I know you donât have anything else to do. Then when youâre coughing up a lung six weeks into the semester and donât feel like getting your ass up to do that calculus homework, youâll remember this week. Youâll remember that youâve been a week ahead this whole damn semester. Pat yourself on the back, ass wipe.
3. Prepare yo self. No seriously. You got notes to print for class? Sure you could be like all those other bitches and just shove them into your backpack, or you could actually /prepare/ for class. Iâm talking looking that shit over, identifying key concepts, getting a decent grasp of the material before your ass is even in class. You a STEM major? Yeah, make this kinda shit your life because now class is like one bomb ass group review session. Again, youâre welcome.
4. Snack like a motherfucker, but save that junk food shit for the weekends. From now on, you are a fucking health guru during the week or if youâre a slacker like me, at least on the days you have class. Fruits? Hell yeah. Pack some of those. Mind wandering in class? Snack on some apple slices. Canât stay awake? Keep eating some almonds or some shit, but donât be that bitch with the potato chips. Just donât.
5. Read. Yeah, you heard me. Read and Iâm not just talking assigned reading. I bet my left butt cheek that your campus library has /something/ of interest to you. Commuting and donât want to drive out there? Library databases bro. Weâre in the digital age, motherfucker. Iâd bet my other butt cheek that the shit you want is in a nice little PDF somewhere. But na man, you thinking maybe you want to go into computer science? Check out computer science books and eat them up bro. You donât like reading them? Probably not the field for you. You a biology major in your second year? Yeah dumbass. Time to break out the bio books and not the ones your professor is shoving in your face. Amaze your friends and teachers with your out of class knowledge. Be a fucking star.
what filters do you use? ⼠love your posts

How to work smart
1. Make the most of those little slots of time â a free fifteen minutes here and there. You can accomplish a lot in those extra lost minutes.
2. Make your work place comfortable and inviting. For example, have an inspiring bookshelf, light a scented candle, put up a few crazy, fun photographs.
3. Donât be afraid of criticism as it can help you to learn and grow. Dreading it too much creates anxiety which them prevents you from producing your best.
4. Recognise that we rarely feel happy when weâre working as we often struggle with incompetence, frustration and feeling that we donât know what to do.
5. Remember all the reasons why itâs worth persevering, and how youâre going to feel when you finally âget there.â
PART ONE - IPHONE
So this is my first post that isnât a stupid text post or overly bright photo of my stationary, so I hope youâll like it! It will consist of two parts, one for the ios apps and one for google chrome extensions. Feel free to send me recommendations!
bolded = favourite, cursive = apps I use every day
Note taking and co
Pocket - very useful app to save websites, articles, posts etc and read them offline. Â Â Â Â Â Â
Keynote, Pages, Numbers - basics if you have an apple device. I actually like keynote better than powerpoint c:
Notability -Â Very popular app and it really is worth its money. Great for note taking, especially in class!
Evernote - On my phone for over 4 years now. The group feature is so great and I use it for preparing posts
Werdsmith - very clean and minimalistic app for writing, I use it mainly for creative writing.
Microsoft One Note - Simple app for note taking and making online notebooks.
Languages
Leo - a great dictionary in 8 languages. If you log in you can save problem words and make vocabulary lists.
Memrise - My favourite app to learn languages for free. Iâm learning Japanese with it! Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
Duolingo learning languages for free is always fun and duolingo is so easy to use, itâs even more fun! I use it to practice my Spanish.
Studying
Forest - Who doesnât know and love forest yet? Itâs such a cute application and I use it when I have a long study day/night ahead.
Brainscape -Â My to go app for flashcards. It has a giant library and itâs easy to make your own. Honestly, Iâve been using it for 3 years now and I still love it.
Mindly -Â A very beautiful app to make mind maps. I use it for story ideas and school work.
MindNode - also an easy way to make mind maps.
Uberchord - learn how to play the guitar for free c:Â
TheSimpleClub - videos, and tutorials of all important school subjects, mainly in German, I think
Notenapp - keep track of your grades - GermanÂ
Khan Academy - like the simple club but with a broader spectrum and in English.
Tide - promodoro app with nice background sounds & inspirational quotesÂ
Swifty - learn how to code in a very fun and simple way!Â
Flow timer - another great promodoro timer (they are everywhere). I like the minimalistic look and nice colours.
Inspiration & Motivation
Vantage - Simple but beautiful designed calendar
Calm - Helps me calm down with breathing exercises backgrounds and sounds.
Elevate - games and exercises that help to keep your mind fitÂ
Pacifica - an app that helps with anxiety and mental disorders with a very kind community
TED Inspiring, interesting and motivating videos on a wide variety of topics.
Others
Textgrabber & Scanner Pro - Â Essentials. Scans photos and grabs texts of pdf and other documents and converts them into word/text documents.
Sleeptown - From the makers of forest a very cute app that helps you keep a healthy sleep schedule. I try to use it but I forget it often, sadly.Â
Tydlig - not free but honestly the best calculator you can have on your phone! Beautiful and simple it makes math so much more fun!
Spark - organizes your emails (even from multiple accounts) and notifies you if something important comes in. Very neat design.
Moon - cute app that shows the phases of the moon depending on the date.
Plant Nanny - keep track of your water intake by watering cute plants (they have something similar for walking and keeping track of expenses!)
Habits of successful students
Discipline: âdiscipline is doing what needs to be done, even when you donât want toâ, which means that you have to force yourself to start doing things.Â
Concentration: when you make a real effort in your work (study, homeworks etcâŚ) you will be more likely to actually focus, understand and learn.Â
Organization: always set tasks and goals and organize a study-schedule. Maybe you donât really want to plan all the week, but if you just wake up and open your agenda/bullet journal/iphone calendar and write down all the things you have to do, setting due dates and deadlines, youâll feel more conscious and encouraged to stay on track.Â
Tasks-splitting: sometimes, you write down your tasks. Some of these tasks may be very hard and complicated, and it will take a long long time to complete them. So, you can split them in smaller tasks, so you will feel satisfied after a shorter period of time, instead of studying for hours and still seeing that chapter undone on your study-schedule.Â
Watch the sunrise: when I wake up late, I feel like I donât have enought time to do my work and lose my motivation. I literally panic and then I think âwhatever, I could not complete all the things anywayâ. So, if you wake up earlier you will feel more positive and  controlled.Â
Smart reading: try not to read your textbook just like a newspaper. For every paragraph you read, try to underline and write down key words and then your question about that subject. Literally, turn your textbook into questions. If you write down question - particularly whyâŚ? - and think about the answer, you will be more likely to remember that stuff later.Â
Healthy lifestile: if you donât drink enough water in the morning, you will be more likely to have a decrease of concentration in the afternoon/evening, so: stay hydrated. Try also to have some snaks every one-two hours: feed your brain.Â
