26.12.17 // some throwback pictures that I love and something I tell myself when I’m going through bad times. I don’t want this to be a blog where I lie to you, I want to be as honest as possible so, I’ve been going through some hard times and I’ve come to the conclusion that all you can do is keep going. It’s going to be difficult and you might need a brake sometimes but it will pass.

• It’s not selfish to put my feelings and health first

“All you need, you already have.”

Often times we don’t see life this way. We most likely have enough food, water, clothing, a place to call home, a bed to sleep in, and all the other basic necessities. We also have loved ones, the ones that care about you and love you. We are most likely comfortable and have no desperate need. Yet, we don’t see life this way. We keep searching for more and more when in reality, all you need, you already have.

My favourite way is to be in the country, but that’s rarely possible. My strategies are pretty basic, but here we go. 

Usually, I find music I like in the language. I have a playlist of Japanese music on spotify that I’ll listen to and I’m working on an Italian one. I also like to find movies in the language and watch them with subs if I need them. This is also a great way to learn about culture and every day life. Great for this, too, are youtube videos. Vlogs by native speakers are great! Sometimes I’ll have a video running in the background while I cook and not even really actively try to understand but just listen subconsciously, as if the news were playing in the background. I’m also part of quite a few language chatrooms where I don’t even necessarily write much but I read them when I’m on the bus or waiting somewhere and it gives me reading practise and I learn new words. 

I basically just try and figure out the things I like and find those in the language.
